  1. I honestly believe if Greg Stewart had stayed, we could have split the Old Firm.

  2. If, say, Killie call Greg Taylor and say they have accepted an offer from Celtic and ask if he wants to talk to them, what is he going to say? If it means increasing his salary tenfold, is he going to turn it down? If he subsequently doesn’t establish himself and wants to play first team football again, should he be frozen out of the game? Even if he is willing to take a big pay cut? I’ve got little time for the likes of Jack Hendry, who is happy to take the money and reject opportunities to go clubs like Killie, but not every case is the same.

  3. I'd personally leave both the Chuckle Brothers warming the bench at Greyskull, thinking they're billy big times as they waste their careers away and no doubt get set to squander their earnings. Killie were on the cusp of something unique last season. We were competing at the very top of the league, and with a good Jan transfer window - who knows. Neither of these nuggets, for whatever reason, could spare us the 4 months it could have taken to crown a club and personal career defining moment. So it's a no from me.

  4. Bringing Jordan Jones back would make us a bigger laughing stock than bringing Broadfoot back or signing Osman Sow on loan did. He had pace to burn and got us up the pitch. Too often though he got dispossessed or his final ball was sadly lacking. After announcing he had signed a PCA with Sevco his performances and application were s**t ( goal against them excepted) Hibs and St Mirren away spring to mind . Did not look interested. I always felt Clarke took a lot of heat off him by backing him publicly, but Jones never repaid the faith shown in him. I'm pretty sure he wont see out his full contract at Sevco. Fully expect him to either be sent out on loan or used in a deal to attract another player for them.

  5. I’d imagine in the current climate AD will be hoping Kiltie can be our Greg Stewart type of player next season.

  6. For all Jones is a hun c**t, he was a very good player for us and we missed him a lot last season.

  7. Greg Stewart only cares about the money. Would rather have a youth player promoted than take him back. Killie got him the move he was after and he will be happy to sit and soak up the *anger* cash. A good player but a footballing mercenary. Let him rot in the reserves for an other couple of years and send his employers closer to bankruptcy.

  10. He should be an expert since he has played half his career (7+ clubs) on artificial turf. He must be a gluten for punishment always choosing clubs that play on Astro if it’s so bad on his knees.

  11. Could killie go back in for Craig Bryson this season? I spoke to him last year and found him to be an utter gentleman, and totally honest, he said that he wanted back to killie when he left Derby, but they never replied to him, my opinion is that he’s not that badly or regularly injured as reported, I just think he doesn’t like the travelling up to Aberdeen and being away from his family here in Ayrshire. I for one would take him in a heartbeat.

  13. From memory at the time Steve Clarke stated, when GS went to the sheep, that " something smells in this deal " he was quick to add " not the player " If it were possible get him back at RP

  14. She wants fairness. My arse. Requesting 10 million in compensation doesn't sound fair. If she wants fairness her team played s**te throughout the season and have been deservedly relegated.

  15. I think winning the ball is what el makrini is best at. His passing is a bit iffy but he’s definitely a decent ball winner

  16. When GS was here I sort of felt he was "one of us", there was always the chance we could get his signature from Birmingham, I just couldn't look at him in the same way coming from Rangers. My preference would be for the other clubs in Scotland to ignore players that languish inside Ibrox and Celtic Park, bought purely to weaken opposition by both OF teams, they made their beds by signing for those twats, let their careers spiral out of sight.

  17. The problem of sectarianism in the UK was generally created by the british empire general Knox. The empire noticed that the north and south of ireland were getting quite close, no issues between the largely protestant north and catholic south. This gave them the fear so General Knox came up with the idea of the Orange Order, and to make doubly sure this embedded in society and divided the nation down religious lines , they started it up on the west of Scotland too where a large number of Irish immigrants were settling. It's a modern thing deliberately designed to speed hatred, the OO is or was an organisation set up and pushed towards unionism and agreed of anything not of London elite rule. It masquerades as an order to promote protestant values, but allows and never distances itself from terrorism, sectarian violence and disorder. It needs banned, as does the knights if St Columba, on the other side. Rid the nation of catholic schools and educate the population in the true history of these orders and their origins. This MAY slowly rid our nation of this vile british creation.

  19. Sadly I dont think even a 60 - 70% popular vote for independence will make these people disappear. Ten years into an independent Scotland they would still be marching up and down waving union flags demanding we reinstate the union. Look at the US. The slave owners got their arses well and truly kicked a hundred and fifty years ago but their statues are still there and the bigots still parade waving Confederate flags.

  28. I don’t blame players for chasing the money. It’s a short career and we are hardly paying them wages that will see them through the 30 odd years of working life they will have post-football. I would take Stewart back in a shot. He adds creativity and goals we’ve sorely missed the last 18 months.

  30. First point Its up to Greg Taylor, he is young enough to develop, and is proving this to be the case, good luck to him. If he does go downhill then he see's out his contract with his club(Celtic), consistently trying to be the best option for the manager to utilise. Agree totally about Hendrie, but feel that Celtic didn't want him going elsewhere and simply tied him up without any real prospect of being their right back. We need to look at ways to stop, or at least make it harder for the OF to simply sign everyones best players with no real prospect of "making it" with them. Sadly Scottish football history is littered with smashing players going for the OF coin rather than gain a better path to international recognition, or to a really big team abroad.

  36. The papers and radio/ TV still being super careful to present them as some tiny, minority interest political group. You only need to look at one photograph to see that it is just the usual SevCo support. You only need to look at one video clip to hear that it is "fenian" this "fenian" that. What would be wrong with someone having the balls to say that this mob are SevCo fans behavig the exact same way that they are allowed to do week in week out all over Scotland with virtual impunity??

  38. I’ve played on Astro for years, mich prefer playing on it at amateur level to grass as generally grass pitches are terrible. Playing on a heavy grass pitch also effects the legs much more than playing on an astro IMO. The next generation of footballers will all have probably played on decent astro surfaces since they were 5 or 6 and the argument will start to become a thing of the past.

  40. Ok, you’ve been presented with the scientific evidence so best just to ignore it. Ever though of being the president of the USA? There is a job going in November. I think we’ve got enough 30+ midfielders at RP. Great player as Bryson was I think we should be looking at younger players. If he still had the legs he’d still be in the championship in England

  42. As said by an SFA physio, it’s in some players heads. Most clubs have plastic pitches to train on, the same clubs that moan about playing on them. Most young players grew up playing on Astro turf. In regards finance, it’s a no brainer. Hearts paid in the region of 1m to lay their pitch, within months its was ruined by a concert, if looked after correctly an artificial surface can be used in all weather conditions almost 24/7. It may not look as nice but at least it looks like grass all year rather than a mud bath at the height of winter in Scotland.

  43. There's no actual evidence that artificial pitches cause significantly more injuries than grass ones.
