  6. US!!!! Connah's Quey away ring any bells. That one was giving to bus supporters first when that should of always been a ballot with season ticket holders. The amount of train season tickets fans where shafted then.

  7. Priority has to be a number nine. If that happens and we have money left over then an argument could be made for someone like Kennedy. Until then, it’s a pass from me.

  10. It was obvious to me many months ago that if you wanted to get to the football this season, a ST was the way to do that. There was always going to be an element of no PATG / no away fans as long as there were ongoing restrictions etc

  11. Name me a club anywhere that doesn’t give season ticket holders priority access. That’s one of the perks of being a season ticket holder

  12. Sensible way to distribute tickets and gives enough time for non season ticket holders to purchase also. I await the backlash that the club appears to have discontinued “loyalty” season ticket holders getting first dibs in any ballot though…

  16. Join the real world mate. 90% of Scotland away games anyone in the SSC can get tickets. I was in albania the other year. Anyone who went got one, same with israel etc. Why should those guys get shafted when folk decide they fancy an away game against England? Loyalty is rewarded. Folk make sacrifices to go home and away. Same with killie. If folk lose out, it shouldn't be the that's that go the extra mile. And I've lost out in ballots before for Scotland. Just though titty. Folk deserved tickets more than me. I'd love to go to more Scotland aways but I prioritise other things. If I miss out on games then s**t happens. That's life but there 100% should be a loyalty scheme.

  21. It's a no from me. We desperately need a centre forward. Cameron for me isn't ready to play every week and only time will tell if he's a long term solution.

  22. Who all had season tickets? Ach when you run buses to games at Inverness with 150 killlie fans there in total then on not sure what your issue is. No clique. Funny how its fans who follow killie everywhere that get called a clique by those that dont bother their arse unless it's a big game. Will see how many of the non bis clique make it likes of Inverness. Certainly wont need a ballot for that but the usual buses will be there losing a fortune.

  30. Or..... Looks like TW and colleagues have their eye on a few options who aren’t ready to commit until they see if there are better options or club isn’t letting them move on or out on loan until they themselves have replacements in the door. It’s the way it works and we should know that by now. TW will have a first, second and third preference. His signings so far have generally been decent and Lafferty worked out well so we should trust his judgement to bring in someone who should score a fair few at championships level.

  34. I like others wonder what the fans view would have been if we hadn’t won with the last minute goal on Saturday. I think it would have been much less positive. Despite having 58% possession we didn’t make that many chances. Burke’s goal that was ruled out and a couple of shots from Alston including the one that the goalie tipped over the bar being the ones that spring to mind. I think we have a tendency to go side to side too often and the service from the wings despite playing two wide men was poor. When we broke the lines we scored so this has to be the way forward. Cameron had very few chances. The header was difficult as he was taking it on the bounce on a poor surface and the cross from Burke was too far in front of him. We need to create better chances but it is going to be difficult to break teams down that defend and are happy with a point. The first goal is crucial as if we score early then the opposing team will have to come out which will give more room for us to create chances and add more goals. We can’t criticise the opposing teams for defending and trying to hit us on the break as that is what we do against bigger teams and we are now seen as a big team by most in the league. The games against Dunfermline, Patrick etc will be easier if they attack.

  37. Football fans tend to be fickle in general. A couple of good games and a player is a great steal, is the next big thing and is going to make us a fortune. Two bad games later and he’s a useless ****. A player exercises his right to leave and he can go from a hero to a rat escaping a sinking ship. The reason players are with us is because mainly they are not consistently good enough to be somewhere better. They will have flashes of greatness but not often enough. Some will be young and have signs of potential which mark them out as special and some will have been exceptional but age is catching up with them. And because they are playing for us, they will be on short-term contracts which don’t pay that well and offer little security. So they move on because they don’t have the same loyalty to the club as we do. Once you accept these facts and breathe deeply a few times, it all makes complete sense!

  38. Part of it must be a generational divide with young posters whose experience and expectations are totally different from the more venerable members. And the constant need to favourably compare this season’s team with last’s, which was playing in a higher division under a clown of a manager for the most part. There also seems to be a faction which will tolerate no criticism of the club, which I find surprising. Finally, don’t discount the effect of Covid and other social factors. I’ve learned to haud my wheesht at some of the things I read - I can’t be arsed with entering into prolonged “debates” any more, for the most part. It’s not a case of being better or worse, or right or wrong; just an inevitable difference of opinions.

  40. Mmmmmm. Would it be enjoyable if we weren't winning? We've got to be careful about a sense of entitlement if things aren't going so well. I enjoyed the away day yesterday. I was there in 89, so Palmerston invokes many emotions. I am looking forward to the rest of the season, there is a certain freshness to it. However, whatever it takes, Premier League next season please.

  41. Why should he have to anyway? He didn’t f**k up the finances. Arguably Barca would be in a much worse spot if he hadn’t been around. He brought in the sponsors, he brought in the kit deals, he brought in the crowds, he kept the tills ringing in the club shops, the tv companies were paying to broadcast him - why shouldn’t he be compensated for that? I’ll be honest, I’m not a fan of FFP (especially La Liga’s stealth wage cap) as it stands. Clubs should be protected from rouge owners running up unsustainable debts and then leaving others to pickup the pieces, but telling a rich owner he can’t spend his own money how he likes has to be wrong. So is the idea that a bean counter somewhere can decide you’ve been paid too much in sponsorship. And if its right that clubs can be overpaid in sponsorship, how can it also be right for tv companies to overpay for broadcasting rights and that be ok? How can anyone justify £8.75 million per game to televise EPL games v £1.94 million per La Liga game. There’s no way to justify that vast discrepancy, but it does mean Barca and Real are restricted to wage bills in line with Everton and West Ham. Same level, really? Why aren’t UEFA telling Carlsberg et al that they’ve paid far too much money to be “partners” in sponsoring the champions league? Why is it only the “smaller” clubs who’re being paid too much? Who is being protected by preventing investment ? Money or rather who is and isn’t allowed to use it is ruining football. At one end we bring a kid through our youth teams, they don’t even play one first team game and we’re forced to sell them because, because, because…. At the other end another club brings a kid through their system, he stays and works hard on his game, becomes the GOAT and brings in huge rewards and honours for his club and recognition for the league and then he’s not allowed to finish his career with the club he’s spent the majority of his life. There should have been a way to make it happen. He should have been given the dignity of being allowed to finish his career as a one club man. I can’t make sense of this decision by La Liga. On a financial level - it’s not good for Barca or the league to lose their star player. And it doesn’t make sense to the romantic side of my brain which believes there are still players who care for their club and have a special connection with the fans. I want to believe we can bring through a kid that leads us to winning trophies and we get to keep them their whole career. It’s just wrong that Messi will be wearing a PSG strip this season and that if the European super league had happened he’d still be a Barca player. How is any of this good for football, the players, the fans or the league?

  42. Kennedy was head hunted by Everton as part of the youth set up. They recruited who they thought would develop. Obviously not all do, but he played in the same team as John Stones who was a raw talent then. That would suggest that if he had the ability and drive then the opportunities were there. Stones obvious developed. Kennedy didn't. Has been a bit part pretty much everywhere for the last ten years. Would he improve us maybe but.... is he massively better than what we have?

  43. If it was Ayr fans, then they could just let all their season ticket holders buy without a ballot. Nature of the beast i'm afraid, we have by some distance the biggest amount of season ticket holders in teh league. I'd imagine a few places this season will be likewise for away tickets.

  44. Sounded older than twenty. Can’t complain, his commentary wasn't too biased for the home side and he was knowledgeable about our players. Sounded like he dropped the tone of his voice at times, I wondered if there was a co-commentator but it was only on a few occasions so guess not.

  45. I thought Haunstrup eased up a little and that probably made it more dangerous. If gone full pelt at the time I’d have said he was getting there first and the one fouling would be the keeper. As it was I thought it was a collision. No need to book anyone imo

  46. Listen its different and it's enjoyable so far, we've just won our first 2 league matches of a season it would be hard not to have a smile. Look at the side that beat us in the play offs today. Christ. If we didn't score late yesterday and it was 0-0 maybe we wouldn't all be feeling so giddy. I get the feeling this will be a tough league but i do believe we are capable of winning it, don't want to get carried away but we do need a goal scorer and fingers crossed big Innes can deliver 15+. What's best for me though is seeing players actually with a bit of desire and fight, the celebrations yesterday epitomised that. Let's not get to comfortable though we are an SPL side and always should be.

  49. Absolutely baffled by this one. There was no aspect of Doyle's game that would suggest he'd be a decent coach - the worst aspect of his peformances by far (and that's saying something) was his decision making. You can have weaknesses in your game and play around them and know what better players could and should do, e.g. Meldrum knew he didn't have the height or reach to command his box so stayed on his line, Woods couldn't catch so he punched or parried everything - doesn't mean Meldrum didn't know when a bigger keeper should be coming for a cross or Woods didn't know when a better pair of hands should be claiming a cross or a shot. In fact in spite of them being far from the best it's laudable they both recognised these weaknesses and tried to mitigate them (regardless of actual outcome). However, Doyle wasn't good at claiming crosses but would sometimes come for them anyway, he was hesitant when rushing out but sometimes do so anyway, but the same situation could arise twice in a game and he'd make two different decisions. That's not the sign of a guy that's thinking about his game and how to work around his lack of agility or mobility and, given that, I can't imagine him being useful at coaching others. If we're going for a new goalkeeping coach and he's willing (and affordable), I'd like to see us go after Gordon Marshall - excellent communicator, a keeper that was all about good decision making, positioning, and setting up the defense in from of him to suit his strengths. From reputation when he was a Killie, he was also leant on by younger players for advice.
