  1. My son Jack, who has downs syndrome, has been a killie diehard for many years. His prediction for every game is 5-0 killie. He has missed this in the past as he has been performing at a centre stage concert when we scored 5 goals. At the games when we are behind I always tell him it might end 5-1, 5-2, or whatever. Today I told him at half time it might be 5-2. He is a happy boy. Nuff said.

  2. When I was going through tough times and trying to get the mental health help I needed Kilmarnock F.C. was the one constant in my life. Even if I couldn't afford to go to games then watching online or finding highlights to watch and analyse took my mind away from the dark thoughts even just for a few hours. When things were at their bleakest maybe 6 or 7 years back I tried to end my life. I was in hospital and got chatting to a doctor who supported the club too and he made a quip that I surely couldn't give up on my team before I'd seen them win the cup again. Might sound silly to some and trivial to most but at that moment I truly appreciated everything my football team has done for me and everything it will in the future. Win or lose tomorrow I'll always be thankful that Killie exists and now that my life is in a better place I can genuinely look forward to affording possible European trips and big days out at Hampden again.

  3. This is absolutely crazy. Some of our 'supporters' need to remember who they're a fan of. We're going to watch Kilmarnock, mate. We (Kilmarnock) are sitting FOURTH in the Premiership. We're comfortably ahead of Hibernian and Aberdeen. Kyle Vassell was one of the only players at Pittodrie who got any sort of pass marks and has offered a lot in terms of his hold up play before that. In terms of goals it's inarguable that we'd want him to contribute more. The reality is that if he had goals in his game alongside his strength and work-rate then he wouldn't be at Kilmarnock. I've been defensive of Vassell for a while because I genuinely believe the stick he gets is mostly unwarranted. His unusual body shape and style of running lures people into thinking he is lazy or not a hard worker - both of which are untrue. McInnes said post-match that Vass hadn't trained all week with a muscle strain... A lazy player or someone who doesn't work hard would have sat the game out. Certainly wouldn't have kept putting in the effort Vass did after that poor first half. Also found myself annoyed listening to Derek's comments after the game. He basically said that he knows and hears what some fans think of Vassell and wants Kyle to know that he's wanted and respected amongst the dressing room even if he isn't from the stands. What a sad indictment of our support who, on plenty of other occasions, has been exemplary.

  4. New one year deal. Delighted for him! https://kilmarnockfc.co.uk/news/rory-mckenzie-signs-new-kilmarnock-deal/ Rory McKenzie has penned a one-year extension on his Rugby Park contract. The midfielder, who has made almost 400 appearances for Kilmarnock, will see his story continue. Making his debut for us in April 2011, the youth academy graduate has been part of some memorable seasons in blue and white stripes. Most notably our league-winning season of 2021/22 and when we finished third-place in the Scottish Premiership in 2018/19 to secure Europa League qualification. On signing his new deal, McKenzie said: “I am delighted to extend my stay at Kilmarnock, signing a new deal was a no-brainer for me. “This has been a great season so far, hopefully we can make it one to remember for everyone involved with the club.” Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes said: “We are delighted that Rory has signed a new deal, he is such a valued member of this squad and brings so much to the club. “He has a big part to play here, and I know that he can be so influential for us this season and beyond.”

  5. After watching DM's after match comments, he is right. We have a proper squad and a proper team. Much better than any of us should ever have expected. He is also right about the relegation, the scrapping promotion and dodging relegation last year. We are in a good good place right now with a team we should be proud of. Do killie win every week, No. Are the players on it every game,No. DM is giving the club everything right now and has put together a squad most other teams in the league would like to have. Even sportscene made mention of the firepower DM has at his disposal. Things were said from the stands yesterday, again something DM commented on. I am not here to preach to any of our fans but Killie are good right now and have and will give us some brilliant games and results, like yesterday. DM is the best manager by a country mile that Killie could ever hope to get. He clearly loves the club and players he has at his disposal. Can we all just concentrate on backing the team, the manager and the club for the rest of the season. The end. Soz

  6. Genuinely can’t believe Killie fans are still chucking ‘happy clappers’ at each other like we’re eternally trapped in primary three. He’s a damn good captain, works like hell for the team, supports everyone round about him, and does a mountain of work when we need a ‘defensive forward’, but is also (surely no surprise?!) a limited striker who isn’t going to be enormously prolific. Irrespective, he’ll keep running through walls for the team while carrying an injury because he wants us to succeed. He deserves backing and wee bit of respect for that imo, and manager clearly sees it. Will KVV get a chance ahead of him soon? Yes, probably. And hopefully he’ll do an exceptional job and Kyle will get a well-earned break. But let’s not use of our club captain for another pointless round of ‘happy clappers v I told you so’.

  7. We thought we would give the legendary Killie FC.com a heads-up before we post on socials tomorrow morning. What a job Matthew Taggart and Fraser have done at Flashtag Films putting this together - Matthew is a good Killie man so please check them out on Facebook and Insta. All feedback is welcome, hope you enjoy!

  9. Kyle Vassell is a credit to the club on and off the pitch. He gives absolutely everything for the team and that’s sometimes to the detriment of his own performance. Him and Watkins have developed an impressive partnership. Teams must hate playing against them as they both don’t stop. Delighted for Kyle today!

  10. You guys will never understand how much it means to me and Monty reading these comments and the discussion continuing beyond the pod. We honestly cannot thank you enough, it’s genuinely amazing. All three guests brought something different. Clark and McLaren were our first two picks when we had the idea to have this. For a period we found it hard to try and get someone to compliment them but we were delighted when we were able to achieve this through Sammy and this is evident when you watch it. One of my best mates works at the club and said he got chatting to Clingan and Clark at game on Saturday. Both said they had a great time but what stuck out was Lee Clark and his good lady saying it’s the best they’ve been treated at any event they’ve been asked to attend. They couldn’t speak highly enough of the fans for the welcome they received. They also said they couldn’t get over how professional the set up was and how they were “looked after”. From a guy who’s been right at the top of the game this was an unbelievable compliment. Thanks so much again to everyone, we hope to announce something very soon about another event.

  11. Travelled upto Pittodrie on Friday, overnight in Aberdeen with the bonus of staying in the same hotel as the team. They were first class with young Killie fans also staying there. The game was a disappointment, probably more so with the fact how successful we have been against Aberdeen this season. HOWEVER, a very small minority of our fans are a joke. One guy in particular sitting two rows behind me. Calling Kyle Vassell a "Fat C@&t" and "Get to F@ck Vassell ya useless C@&t". Everytime he touched the ball, the same stuff came out his mouth. I called him out as I couldn't listen anymore. Middle aged bald guy there with young kids. He shouted all game in a similar fashion even upto the point the players came across to clap the fans. Whoever you are you are an absolute joke and should be nowhere near Killie games.

  13. They've got a few flags now and more planned. I really hope that area is extended to the section next to the Chadwick down the front. The more kids this age we can attract to games, the better. There's even a splinter group in the Moffat now of even younger lads. Great to see - changed days from the MJ era where you could hear sweetie paper wrappers rustle and be sat in the stadium with less than 3,000 home fans regularly with the average age of the crowd closer to pension age than school age. Board, Trust etc deserve great credit for this.

  16. Living up in shee p land and being of the over 70 age I don’t get to many games so today was a test for me and my eldest grandsons first Killie game in his Christmas Top ! My opinion of the game is that Aberdeen aided and abetted by so shocking refereeing allowed us to be dragged down to their level, someone in our team neede to get about Shinnie from the get go, our Captain should have been on his shoulder every time he was chirping at the ref ! My disappointment was that to achieve our league position has been gained by playing good football on the ground, that is something we failed to do for most of the 90 mins today and that really disappointed me. I loved being in the Killie support - what a treat, travelling in numbers when the easy option was to sit at home and watch on tv so well done to all those who travelled and sang their hearts out - I joined in with my grandson but maybe not as loud as I used to ! O onwards and upwards Killie and their great fans ! my grandson asked a question of me - Grabdad - why don’t Aberdeen fans don’t sing 😂😂😂😂😂!!! I told him because they ain’t Killie Fans !! Safe travel home to you all ! Disappointed but defiant !!!

  18. My best mate is a Rangers fan. He asked me for my ticket or a ticket for the 1-5 title game. I told him to f**k off. I don't see whats difficult about this. Rangers fans have a stand to go in. The Killie stands are for Killie fans. We're all pals with Rangers fans - what if all of 5000 of us just gave a ticket to a good mate who happens to be a hun? It undoes all the hard work the club are putting in.

  19. I would rather see a Club like St Mirren in the top six, as long as they are below us, than one of the big city Clubs. Everyone seems to just assume that the likes of Aberdeen and Hibs will almost automatically qualify for the top six. I like to see the underdogs do well.

  20. Seven goal thriller, no injuries, why spend upwards of a million quid for a pitch? The weather extremes seem to be increasing, and from what I’ve seen lately of the grass pitches there needs to be a better reason than the cheeks not liking the plastic for change to be made.

  21. Football fans in 2024 are conditioned into thinking that immediate success is all that matters. If you don't win everything and win it now then you're a failure. What's happened at Kilmarnock since our relegation is the perfect example of why patience is a virtue and why sticking with a good manager and letting him have the time to build things the way he wants to is the way ahead. Credit has to go to the board for not panicking when plenty in our support would have had McInnes sent up eh road.

These days I would say killie means family particularly since I first met my wife in the east stand 15 years ago, we now have 4 kids and seeing how family orientated our club now is melts my heart.

  28. Started hitching my star to Killie as a 12year old with Killie in the early 1950's, with my mother funding my bus fare on an A1 bus from Irvine. However my real fondness for Killie took off with the secondary school team of Irvine Royal Academy of 1953, depicted here in their Killie colours when they won the final of the Scottish Secondary Schools Shield at Hampden Park. However the real Killie significance was the player sitting on the right hand side of the front row, is to my mind a real Killie favourite, Billy Muir, the youngest of this team at fourteen years of age. He was a significant factor of us winning that final, as he scored the two goals that won us that game despite us playing the second half with ten men due a severe eye injury to one of our players. On the left hand side of the front row is myself John Clark, the right winger of the team. In later years whenever I met up with Billy he would greet me with "A the big right winner " However that cup final night at Hampden was always Billy's night, sadly no longer with us, and oh how I miss that greeting he always gave me. The following year 1954 without Billy and a another couple of boys who left school we got to the semi final losing out to a goal by a future Killie player would you believe - non other than Joe McBride. Irvine Royal Academy won the Senior Shield twice 1924 and 1953. They are the only Ayrshire school to ever achieved this and it also places them in the top school winners of Scottish Schools. Another Killie servant I had great affiliation for was Norrie McNeil. Now I know some of the Killie fans have a difficulty with an outstanding centre half from Ayr United being in their midst, but do not forget Norrie originated from Hurlford and also Norrie was a trusted servant of the finest manager of Killie, Willie Waddell. My wife and I as a young married couple became established friends with Lydia and Norrie and their two girls. And when I came back to live in Ayrshire I have endeavoured to find the where abouts of the two McNeil girls , Dorothy and Deborah. But no luck yet, so if any of you Killie fans an help me as to their whereabouts I would greatly appreciate it. My family currently hold four season ticket seats in the FB stand. With what I have told you would I qualify as a Killie fan ?

  29. Moved to Kille as a young kid from Aberdeen. I had never been to a live match , But I loved Football , you never saw me without a ball at my feet. Starting playing with Onthank primary and some boys said they went to Killie games, So that Saturday a few of us walked to Rugby Park, All got a lift over at the turnstiles and I remember being in awe of the atmosphere, It was 1973ish I would have been about 11 years old. Don't remember who we played or the result. It's was the singing, The sway of the crowd on the terrace that impressed me. Within a week or so I had learned the songs ( don't think I swore before) . It would be a few years later before I lied to my parents I went on the Wellington Street Bus to an away game, That simply brought everything to another level. In those days their was trouble at a lot of matches and you needed to watch your back, But you found older fans would watch out for you like they were part of a extended family, You did not know the names only the faces. But away games were different, you were really representing your Club/Town . Stories were told at school of where you had been and what had happened on the away trip , No doubt bending the truth. Funny thing is their were times you were proud you supported a local small Club , But also times were you uttered Killie in hushed terms, Yes we have been laughed at , Slagged off , Insulted for being a Kilie fan. But when you love something it's supposed to be emotional. People who don't follow a Football Club just don't get it. I know so many faces, I bump into them at work or walking in the street or a Pub , Even on Holiday, I simple "Hi " Or nood of the head. I might be asked who's that and I simply say " he is a Killie Man or Woman" . Now I am older , Those memories of away days or matches are seen though Rose coloured glasses , As all the bad moments are now thought of as life experiences, A test you had to go though to appreciate the good times even more. Came back early from my Honeymoon to see Killie relegated at Dumfries, cried in embarrassment on the pitch. Went to all the Grand Hall meetings and that was a different emotional time. Lot of anger in those meetings. We were told dreams by the new owners and I thought they were pipe dream, But they all came true in the end. The Cup wins were glorious and the relegations tragic , Promotions were epic and Europe was the reward for not abandoning you Club and very emotional occasions too. So Kille to me , Is Emotional Happy and Sad. Its alway there in your life , Both the good times and bad..........Its a sometimes like a dysfunctional Family, But Family just the same.

  30. Folk still love a good grumble about Armstrong, eh? Every time he doesn't beat his man of his cross doesn't reach a Killie player there were moans and groans today. You'd never know he assisted last Sat, scored Wed, assisted today... Thankfully most fans see him for what he is.

  31. When I was about 15, I sat in the FB for a game against Celtic - it was when Lennon was in charge first time round. Was right in front of the hospitality section and it was crawling with Celtic fans. They scored and the guy directly behind me in hospitality was going mental and dishing out all the usual ‘hun/orange bastard’ patter. He soon shat himself when I turned round and he realised he was my teacher. It was always nice seeing him after that.

  32. What makes killie so special to me is the fans, don’t get me wrong i love this club & have done since I seen us vs Kaiserslautern with my Gran, I called Djorkaeff a c**t, she, hit me 😂😂. but the fans are something else. There was a substantial gap between that and my next match, but I’ve always been made to feel welcome at RP. I don’t have a massive amount of money coming in, being a carer, but fellow killie fans have made sure I’ve got to a lot of games I wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford, it’s like one big family. I’ve never felt so much a part of something as I’ve done with this club. I also need to give a shout out to @pmonty3 who kindly invited me to the FEAE live event, man found out what I do & invited me off his own back, completely emphasising the community aspect of this club, we’re all one big family & I’m forever glad I’m a member.

  35. I don’t think Saturdays result had anything to do with being “unleashed”; there wasn’t any huge tactical switch or a single change in personnel. What we witnessed was a combination of a change in attitude from the players and confidence returning as we got ourselves back into the game. In the first half we looked like we were suffering a hangover from the Aberdeen game and feeling a bit sorry for ourselves. We are a good side- probably even a very good side in this league. Once we remembered this, we looked much more like ourselves. To get there, I suspect a few players got a rocket up the arse at halftime and the team as a whole were reminded why we were competing for fourth place in the first place. When we came back out and started winning our 50/50’s, began picking up the second balls, ran harder, moved the ball quicker, we got our just rewards. My advice to the manager would be stick with what you’re doing because it’s working. Nobody ever suggested that SC was too cautious in the first half of games or that he made changes because he was worrying too much about our opponent's, and I definitely see parallels about how both of them go about their business. Everything is done to give us the best possible chance of getting a positive outcome. We might not like every choice they make, but we should respect them. Finally, I think we all need to take a step back and get a little bit of perspective on what we’ve achieved. We seem to be amping every game up as the be all and end all. Having rewatched the whole of Saturday’s match, I think I’m as guilty of overreacting to circumstances as the next man. A couple of set pieces aside, St Mirren hadn’t really created much. We had possibly two clear cut chances, to their three, and I'm not even sure if the Mandron header was onside tbh. I think we’ve got sucked into worrying about the table too much or looking ahead to going to Hampden, instead of taking things one game at a time, and letting things play out. I also think the big and noisy away support rubbing our nose in it, made this feel even worse. I don’t know what the solution is, but I’m going to try and just enjoy things because this is definitely better than worrying about relegation.

We were s**te first half, but that second half"…………… Thats got to be some of the worst defending I’ve ever had the pleasure to see, especially with Watsons goal. well played to the Saints fans for creating a great atmosphere, and so refreshing to have the away stand almost filled but not hearing any of the sectarian s**te we normally hear when it’s full

  38. He kicks every ball on a Saturday on the touchline and clearly works his socks off during the week. It's a feather in our cap that TV companies value his opinion to the point they want to use him. Some folk on here would see the negative of anything! Great manager and he"s our manager, end of story.

  45. Never lived in Killie after the age of three or four but all our family lived there so we visited often. My dad and grandpa went to the football but I hated it at first and wouldn’t go. Only when I was 9 or 10 did I get the bug. This was the early 1960s and I thought supporting Killie would always be thrashing Celtic, cup semis and finals, Eintrachts and Real Madrids, challenging for League titles. My dad wasn’t that big a fan but he patiently drove us to home and away games until I was old enough to go with my mates by bus, train or, eventually, our own cars. It’s 46 years since I left Scotland but have never stopped supporting. I had a wee wobble in the 1980s when we were s**t and it coincided with other life things happening. But I was still active in the campaign to change the board. I always travelled home regularly which, funnily enough, coincided with a match or two. Helped start a London Supporters Club and bought a Privileged Season Ticket when the ground was rebuilt. I tried to get my dad to go to the 1997 cup final but he didn’t want to go, which was a shame. It would have been good to have shared the moment. I never thought in the dark days that we would play in Europe again so I filled my boots when we did. Dublin, Nice, Reykjavik, Kaiserslautern, Stavanger… what trips! As my parents got older and frailer, visits home were when necessary and not always dictated by the fixture list. They have now been gone ten years and more. Without any other reason to visit, I don’t get to many matches now. So much has changed but, in my mind’s eye, I can still see the old ground with its vast terracing which held 35,000; the half-time scoreboard; the cherished league flag, which we never did replicate; smell the pipe smoke and remember sitting atop the corrugated iron at the top of the east terracing. The legends in blue and white stripes on the pitch. Good times with my mates. My dad and grandpa… Killie is an enduring and important part of life. It changes in focus and importance and the experience isn’t always the same. We’re here cos we love Killie.

Been taking my wee boy since he was 2, along with his gran and grampa (ie my mum and dad) My grampa sadly no longer with us but have so many happy memories involving him and Killie. The group of us going now is growing and growing. My sister, my brother in law, my nephews, my other brother in law... Was the thing I struggled most with during covid - not getting to go to games, pub pre match for a pint and a laugh, long car journeys, adventures on the train with the wee man. Meeting up with close pals - the closest being the guy who was my next door neighbour when we were kids - 30+ years of Killie together. Nearly gret walking up the east stand steps for first time after lockdown. Probably been biggest constant in my life. Visiting rugby park with the people who matter most to me.

  50. Still can't get my head around whoever the Rangers player was who pulled Polworth back not being sent off. He played on and it ended up a 50/50 with Butland so it stands to reason he'd have been clean through in possession of the ball had he not been blatantly pulled back. Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous officiating from the referee and VAR team.
