  1. Agree SC got the best from Kirk as SC got the best from almost every Killie player. But to say he was done based on (2 games) v (2 and a bit years) is nonsense. He was a very good performer for Killie in his time. He had the occasional erratic moment but over the piece very good. I wish we still had him at RP. The sad thing is he probably wanted to stay here but obviously felt the AA appointment wasn't going to be a good thing. Whether that was just for him or in general then Kirk will know himself. I can only look from the outside in but my gut feeling is he felt the AA appointment wasn't going to be good in general.
  2. I'd happily try Jim Wilson up front the way things are so I see no reason why Ian couldn't be tried there.
  3. Been very surprised we haven't seen him much under AA. Every time I've seen him he's been a 7/10 in all positions he's played. I've been surprised about a few things re: the younger players since AA came in, Wilson being one of them. Letting Kiltie go on loan and giving Dom Thomas an extended contract were strange ones IMO also. I recognise DT has been on loan for parts of his time at Killie but his contribution when here has been next to nothing.
  4. Absolutely. If anyone on here thinks he's not been missed then they don't know what they're talking about IMO.
  5. Hope those that disagreed with my 'generally discouraging' and 'false position' comments a couple of weeks back are starting to see the reality.
  6. Still no positives for me? Suppose 1-0 to County is better than 3-0 to Livi.
  7. Are you honestly trying to justify our performances by saying a 0-0 and 1-0 at Livi under SC (our only defeat under him from a side out with the 'big 5') is comparable to yesterday's result and performance? SC's Killie time on the whole was greatly encouraging from first game to last, regardless of individual games, results or performances. So far AA's time on the whole has been discouraging.
  8. Livi 3-0 Killie and a continuation of discouragement re: performance. Can you pick out some positives for me to focus on please?
  9. But the board, like me probably couldn't believe their luck when Bury came for him (and paid compensation). They would realise pretty quickly he wasn't going to be a positive appointment and were relieved when he left of his own accord.
  10. Agree.....when people on here start blaming the wind and rain you know they'll argue black is white even to the point of having totally lost credibility.....................They'll be claiming next it's because we have too many players who're Sagittarius.
  11. I actually agree with you. It seems to be that who you are on here is dependent on the response irrespective of what you've written. I assume (perhaps incorrectly) from your name that you're just here for the wind-ups but I like your style....... ......although I'd strongly advise one against any declaration of semis at lunch with grandma.
  12. Where to situate the new cappuccino machine.
  13. Quite a few on here have referenced the 3-0 v Hearts as if that performance was excellent and all is/was going great. We took advantage of a really poor set-up by McPhee in the first 15 mins. Once they changed it was as it's been regularly this season...fairly poor stuff. I hope the wilfully blind punters are slowly starting to regain their sight.
  14. LOL! I admire your optimism in presumably thinking we could finish above these teams.
  15. Like I said midweek; nearly half a season now and on the whole it's been pretty discouraging.
  16. Spot on! If Stewart had stayed and continued the form shown then second place wasn’t totally out the question. We’d definitely have had more points imo. To take the double whammy of losing him and have him go to Aberdeen and still finish 3rd was as you say: recovered brilliantly.
  17. Bobby Madden as he was the only one who made us get up off our seats to engage in roaring. Fair play to the guy, he obviously sensed the requirements of the fans.
  18. I'm focusing on the reality as I see it. If they can recruit well in January then I see little reason why we can't have a top-six finish. The games prior to the break are important though and could go a long way to determining where we finish. If we don't improve I can't see us finishing top-six, I can see us looking over our shoulders trying to keep a sufficient gap between ourselves and the relegation candidates. As things are I don't see us in bother, but it's certainly not out the question.
  19. @Gaz of the 20/20 @Squirrelhumper @NorfolkG Just to clarify my 'false position' point. I'm talking in the context of a full season. Last mid-December we were top which was obviously a 'false position'........but we were there at that point because as somebody above said "it's literally based on results." No-one ( if they're honest) believed we'd finish there, i.e we were in a false position in the context of the full season and comparison to other squads in the league. And again if you're honest you'll recognise we're a bit fortunate to be in 5th just now as the 6pts v Livi and St Mirren on the balance of play could easily have been one point. Factor in the 3 non-wins in 90 v Hamilton, last night and a lot of our general play so far then 5th position make people wilfully blind to the reality at times.
  20. Having watched Killie this season as we approach the halfway stage I'd say it's fairly discouraging and IMO sitting 5th is the only thing stopping some from acknowledging. I think we're in a false position in the league. I've attended all the home games and one away at Motherwell. We were lucky to get max points from Livi and St Mirren at home. We wouldn't have got anything against Hamilton (3 games v them no wins in 90 mins) but for the red card. The Hearts result was excellent but a huge factor was Nanny McPhee totally set them up incorrectly providing us with a great start before changing it when it was too late. Had St Johnstone won last night no-one could've complained as they were better than us. Those expressing concern about Motherwell and Aberdeen pulling away after last nights results are kidding themselves on. We're finishing nowhere near 3/4th this season. I give credit to AA as he's shown he has something about him and at the start it would be difficult knowing what he has to work with. January is going to be important for him. He's seeing what we're seeing and with the money received for Taylor let's hope he can make effective additions.
  21. Makes you wonder even more when he does play and you analyse his contribution which is very often very little.
