We've cancelled going to Germany .... gonna take a wee hit on the flights but what we save on expenses will help any Killie trip that we make.

All down to priorities I'm afraid ... and Killie come first.

    Agreed 100%

We've decided to cancel our trip to Germany so that we can maybe fund a Killie trip ....

so we have 2 flights to Munich available if anyone is still looking.

Easyjet from Glasgow to Birmingham on 13th June

Lufthansa to Munich at 10am 14th June

Return flight is morning of 19th June with Lufthansa and then onto Glasgow with Easyjet

Lufthansa was around £450 return (total) for two passengers, and Easyjet I think around £200 (will need to check)

I also have a hotel booked at Birmingham airport for the 13th June.

you will need to pay a name change fee for the tickets.

If anyone is interested then drop me a message ... I'm looking to recoup the money I paid.

Sensible choice good luck on some one taking up your offer.

As long as Aberdeen don’t win the Scottish Cup, (highly unlikely) and we finish 4th…… we will enter the Europa League 2nd qualifying round as an unseeded team

Which usually means the seeded team  gets home adv for the 2nd leg?

I think Connahs Quay was an almost unique set of circumstances in that it was being played in a tiny stadium but for a European game it was relatively easy to get to.

When is the draw for the EC? There seems to be confusion if we finish 4th what cup we will be going in .Last year the teams that finished 4th and 5th went in to the EC

I think people underestimate how big of an achievement it was to win the league with the squad he inherited. He had to use free loans from SPL youth teams to give senior player enough of a boot up the arse to get them over the line. We were 5th when he came in at Christmas and were utterly rotten.

To then stay up with a squad of guys nowhere near the standard on legacy contracts which had big promotion increases swallowing up the budget and a host of loans was actually a massive achievement.

You can say he overachieved with his hands tied and I think he's overachieved this year given how much work had to be done on the squad this summer. Guys like Mayo, Deas, Watkins, Kennedy, Findlay, Dennis, Ndaba and even Magennis before his injuries have been a huge part of our success this year and to add all that in one window is beyond the work any other manager in the league managed by some distance. Add to that the improvements he's overseen in Lyons, Armstrong, Watson and Polworth and it really is impressive work.

I bet he never had the same budget that other basket  case Dundee club is spending to get back up.

I am see where you’re coming from but by the same token Cameron is a championship striker at best and I hope our much  (sic) vaunted recruitment department is at this time running the rule over several replacements . We’ve no idea whether KVV , Watkins or Stewart will be here , or indeed if Vass will be fully fit, but to retain Cameron just in case would be folly imo.
Anderson from Livi for example would be a more than able replacement for Cameron.

Agreed the boy has to move to a level what suits his ability championship good luck to him, but we need an upgrade if we want to get top six next season again.

And Europe of course. Interested to see who wins the fight for 5th, will be refreshing seeing another different Scottish team in Europe alongside ourselves

St Mirren will be desperate to get it after being the only team not to qualify for Europe after the split last season.

Nope. We're essentially allowed to lose once in the qualifiers. If we lose in the Europa League qualifiers then we drop into the conference league qualifiers. If we lose in the conference league qualifiers then we're out completely. So with that in mind we're guaranteed 2 ties in Europe (if we finish 4th and Aberdeen don't win the cup).

If we finish 5th or if we finish 4th and Aberdeen win the cup then we'll enter into ECLQ2. We would expect to be seeded for this round so would expect a much easier tie, although there are definitely still possibilities for some big names (Panathinaikos being one). Here's a selection of teams we could face if we were to play in this round:

Two away trips in Europe at least, excellent.

    First qualifying round: 11 & 18 July 2024
    Second qualifying round: 25 July & 1 August 2024
    Third qualifying round: 8 & 15 August 2024
    Play-offs: 22 & 29 August 2024

So 2nd Qualifying round it is.

If DM delivers silverware the crown is his , at the end of the day points are all very well but if it doesn’t ding like the sound of silver and success it’s a moot point

Will be hard to achieve he had more resources at Aberdeen and won 1 league cup would love to see him win silver ware for our great club.

Hibs ffs, basket case, poisoned chalice, please Del think of what you’ve got

    Hearts said the same.

The major difference for me - and this is in no way a criticism of Steve Clarke - is that we were always a stepping stone for him and we knew he wouldn’t be building something long term.

My feeling, and I really hope this is the case, is that Del sees the opportunity to really create something at Killie and leave a real legacy.

Yes and SC said this himself .

Derek is doing better when you look at the progress over a season or two, and the potential for future progress.

Clarke, for sheer elation (especially over the 3rd placed season) will never be beaten. We were on a constant high and it felt as if we near enough won every game that season. It was wild.

Don't see any great need to compare the two. Best just to enjoy them while we have them - as Clarke showed, the managers who follow might not be nearly as good!

Agreed especially as Bobby Madden reckons clubs will be after him in the summer.
