  1. The season's not got that long left - it seems that when fully fit Donnelly starts. As do Dennis, Mayo, Wright, Findlay, Armstrong, Vassell & Watkins.
  2. But you're assuming we finish Top 6 - you're jumping a step ahead!!
  3. We need to ensure we avoid the play-offs next!
  4. I might be wrong, but I don't think we'll see a sudden goal rush from him. I'll be happy if he keeps doing what he's been doing all season - helping make us a difficult team to play against that doesn't know when it's beaten.
  5. He's a key part of a Killie team sitting 4th in the SPL. Even if we'd lost yesterday he'd be a key part of a Killie team sitting 5th. Except for Steve Clarke's 18 months & Mixu's 6 months we've not been in this position for years, and have generally struggled. And Vassell's important role in the team is one part of this turnaround.
  6. Of course the club gives players a stage to further their careers. Which in turn benefits the club. If Wales is seen as good enough he'll play, whether he's got 3 months or 3 years on his contract.
  7. My first response probably reflected the day I'm having in front of the laptop! Saturday reminded me of the old days of being a lot younger & having to tread a bit carefully through the town, albeit from the perspective of being middle aged & anonymous. I'm probably wrong, but found it interesting after years of increasing CCTV surveillance, covid lockdowns, periods of dullness at Rugby Park & kids staying at home gaming more.
  8. I didn't say I perceived any danger. Saturday is also not Tuesday night. What else is weird here that I can justify to you?? Edit - I appreciate this is an overly defensive response, sorry 😁
  9. I walked from Rugby Park up through the town centre on Saturday after the game. Things definitely felt a bit edgier, it felt more like the 80 or early 90s, give or take the current urban wasteland free of shops & clubs etc. Some of it footie related & some of it not. Casual culture in the 80s was a bit unique for the sheer mix of backgrounds of those involved, much like the rave scene that followed it. The Ultra scene suddenly feels a bit like that. I hope a few don't spoil it for the rest involved, but also that the rest of us can be a wee bit relaxed about it. The club / authorities have got a job to do to identify any particular idiots, but hopefully not at the expense of the fun of the rest of the kids.
  10. Stephen Craigan was hugely complimentary after the match on the job Vassel did in haranguing McGregor all over the pitch & ensuring he couldn't orchestrate play for Celtic. I remember Martindale picking him out for praise in bullying the Livi defence relentlessly earlier in the season and softening them up. McInnes clearly rates him highly too. Yeah we want our strikers to be hitting the net regularly, of course we do. But I think with Vassel a few folk miss the huge role he plays in making us difficult to beat and that he's a key part of the overall team.
  11. Game over. A lot of game time now to listen to Neil McCann's self declared 'wisdom' as the match commentator defers to him and allows him to talk his drivel.
  12. A few familiar names in the Cove squad. I reckon we'll treat them with plenty of respect & put a strong team on the pitch.
  13. Wee bit disappointed not to be hearing more @Craigieboy excitement. He may have one eye on our potential summer signings though!
  14. I refuse to get excited by anything Old Firm ever, so completely discount their players in this. Van Veen , GMS (at Dundee Utd) & Stewart (Dundee) have been 3 of the most genuinely exciting & talented players I've seen Killie come up against in recent years. Really hoping they've got something to offer us. Exciting times!
  15. GMS had some real quality in his prime, and showed a bit of that class when he came on yesterday. Not sure what his options are, but if we can sort something out with him I'd be delighted to see him in a Killie shirt for yhe rest of the season.
  16. He's 26. He's got to go and grab the money now if it's on offer. And good luck to him. If he goes we should look to use some of the money to try and fund reasonable wages for something more creative and clinical around the #9 & 10 positions.
  17. Really sorry to hear this. He was a great presence on here.
  18. You're probably right. The Tories can sit and tear shreds into Labour for a term for not instantly fixing the mess they'll be inheriting, and they'll seem more electable to their base again. Best hope is that they rip themselves to pieces in opposition, unless Starmer's playing an absolute blinder here & can pull some smart policy out his sleeve.
  19. Labour only win power in the UK if their leadership and policies are viewed as 'acceptable' by the Daily Mail & The Sun et al as being pro-establishment & no risk to tilting the balance on inequality or the status quo etc. Corbyn would never have been allowed power by these non-democratic kingmakers. Sadly we're seeing a shift toward US-style right wing propoganda 24hr 'news' tv stations which will make this even worse in years to come. The only hope is that Starmer is playing the game adeptly and has a few policy jokers up his sleeve, but I'm not convinced. However, any tilt he makes toward the Palestinian suffering could seem him deemed unelectable by the big media establishments and the millions who gobble up the sh!t they print.
  20. Israel have locked Gaza in here & are allowing food, water & medicine to dwindle away, while bombing their targets relentlessly. They are deadly serious. They probably won't end this campaign until everyone who had anything to do with the Hamas terror campaign is taken out. Anyone who was caught on film killing Israelis, kidnapping or attacking the hostages as they were paraded through Gaza would be as well fighting to the death now, or they'll spend their lives fearing anything that goes bump in the night. They'll bring everyone in Gaza to their knees, or worse, and will show what they can do to 2 million lives if another Israeli is taken hostage under similar circumstances ever again. And most of these lives were a relentless struggle before all this started. This will reverberate globally for quite a long time, and goodness only knows where it ends. But it's not particularly good for anyone, anywhere.
  21. I reckon Erwin would have made some serious money out of his move, plus it was a really unusual opportunity to see a semi-closed off part of the world. He's probably done ok financially for a guy whose career has stuttered quite a bit.
  22. I would have said there was no chance of the Bigots coming after McInnes. But then they confounded that by coming up with Alex F*cking Rae. After that McInnes must be in with a shout!
  23. What's with the stewards up here? It looks like someone's filled a transit van of fairground operators, handed them yellow jackets & told them to go looking for a scrap.
