  1. You called it! Only to pedants. Do KFC have a problem selling their vegan burger because it's not exactly Kentucky Fried Chicken? Not everything has to be a literal dictionary definition. If you want to be really pedantic then the capitalised letters means it's not 'a' trust fund but 'The' Trust Fund. That said, I don't like it either, if we have fans who can't understand the different between an organisation and an initiative then the only thing to call it would be "the money that the Killie Trust gather from subscribers and give to Kilmarnock Football Club for projects in lieu of shares". Some folk still wouldn't get it, so why bother changing it at all?
  2. Is it spelt or spelled? There's not that many errors that I could see, but hands up I've never visited that bit of the website before and I've spent a good few hours now reading through it all and it's brought back some great memories. Well done guys. In terms of tidy ups though there is an error page for the 1979 Celtic game and a few typos for player names -
  3. Even the women's team lost two strikers to Glasgow City. Clearly the club won't be supporting all the strikers tomorrow!
  4. The manager took a shockingly bad Championship squad and got them over the line to win the title. You are lucky if there were half a dozen players in that whole squad that could cut it in the Premier League, and that's as squad players at a real push. He's had a few months this summer to try and recruit players of a standard that would be able to hold their own against most teams in the league, which is a massive task in it's own. Recruitment has proved infinitely more difficult that Derek has ever faced in previous jobs, you wont find a more frustrated man in Ayrshire and there is not much anyone can do about it. For starters he has a number of players he doesn't want and can't move on due to contractual obligations. He doesn't really want to bring in too many loan players but he can't get the players he really wants to sign for various reasons. His targets assume we'll struggle and they don't want to be in a relegation battle; some of them don't want to play on our pitch; the money on offer may be on par with most of the teams in our division but if they are really good players they can generally get more elsewhere. It's rock and a hard place scenario. We can't force players to sign and we are having to loan in to try and compensate. Meanwhile off the back of a much over hyped league win the expectation levels of tops six and European qualification are just incredibly naive, absolute pie in the sky thinking. At best we were going to be safely in the bottom six and not fighting to get out of the bottom two slots, even with better signings than we've managed. Building a new team does not happen overnight, nor does it happen in one transfer window, hopefully something clicks soon so that Derek doesn't get disheartened and we find ourselves looking for yet another manager, which would be another disaster because consistency is key and as soon as you start losing it you are on a slippery slope. All that said I believe that Derek himself has a huge part to play in where we are now and that his team selections at times have been suspect, showing more loyalty to players than he is getting performances in return. We have too many players just going through the motions and hopefully with the likes of Hemming and Jones back it can give the others a lift.
  5. All this stuff about the women's team came from total speculation on here. There was no truth in it whatsoever, not that it matters now anyway.
  6. People won't go. It happens every single week at every single game. People have other priorities in their lives and I dare say quite a few of them may well be laid low with some sort of virus. Still, look on the bright side, if there are spaces and some fans can't make it that will allow you to tell us how right you were and you can have a wee gloat. Every cloud and all that.
  7. What I find bizarre is all the self proclaimed experts in football management and tactics in here who are second guessing nearly everything a pretty successful (in the real world, not Football Manager) coach is doing. We must be a couple of games away from the idiots wanting yet another manager sacked, they are biting their tongues to not say it already, you can tell. As Piffer says, the substitution was completely understandable, full backs off, three at the back, who should have been able to cope with the threat while we tried to regain the midfield with an extra body in there - rather than go one up front - which if he’d done he would be getting slaughtered for, too defensive etc. The only problem is that the defenders available to him on the bench were Naismith and Waters. He trusted Naismith, he was let down badly, by most of the players to be fair. Ash Taylor plays that game and we win. The quality of player available to the manager will only improve through time. The biggest culprit here, and the common denominator throughout our troubles has been the players. The gradual deterioration in the quality of our squad will not be addressed in one transfer window by McInnes, nor anyone else for that matter.
  8. Then why do it? You apologise and then rattle in anyway, couldn't you just have waited? Pretty sure that the club have plenty to deal with today without having to deal with this kind of stuff.
  9. Quick question. Did you actually watch any of the interviews with our head of football operations before slaughtering the club for sacking TW with no plan to replace him? They have been doing exactly what you are complaining about them not doing all along. They have identified targets and have been keeping an eye on them. That's not to say that anyone they have identified will be available or even interested. We can't sit around and wait until that situation changes so we relieve the manager of his duties and invite applications (many of which automatically come in anyway) and then sift through them and interview any/every potential candidate. If we start doing that prior to TW leaving then we get in real trouble and it would cost a lot more than it is costing doing it properly, in terms of finance that would eat into our next manager budget and reputation wise as well. I'd be more worried if they didn't interview the likes of Kettlewell if he applied, he has credentials whether we rate him personally (I don't) or not and it does no harm to hear him out along with any others who may or may not fit the bill.
  10. So now the board are idiots for sacking Tommy too quickly and not having planned it months ahead? Sometimes I despair at our support, damned if they do and damned if they don’t. They decide change is needed, they make the change that very weekend, we want a new manager waiting in the wings to start. Seriously get a grip folks. Be glad they gave him the bag and are going through the process of trying to get someone better in and stop whining about every minute detail like spoiled kids.
  11. Is it really so difficult to understand that the guy can't be arsed with you and knows when to leave it and walk away? Trying to get the last word all the time seems about your level.
  12. That would be for the members to decide, if you want to have a say in it then become a member like so many other have. Her remit is to represent the Killie Trust members (not the whole fan base) on the board by "observing and advising". Why do you keep asking the same questions, are you expecting different answers? Virtually every post you make attacks the club, the board or the trust - you clearly have some anger issues and an inability to let things go. Another one with an anti-Killie agenda for the ignore list.
  13. I went to my grandson's last cup tie, it cost me nothing, there were 14 goals and I could eat and drink whatever the hell I liked. If you want to go and watch Darvel and think that's better entertainment then why don't you just get a season ticket for Recreation Park and quit making stupid comparisons that bear no relevance on last nights game? Diddy defenders equate to loads of goals, its far from always being great football.

  16. This is sarcasm, right? It would take days to rhyme off all the performances that were worse than last night from the last 50 years. That draw wasn't even in the top 100. If you think that douring out difficult away games and staying in the mix at the top of the division will see our crowds drop to 15 men and a dog then that probably says more about you and your attitude than anything else. Killie are not for glory hunters, we need to fight tooth and nail for every point in this division and it is not going to be pretty at times. Last night was a bad performance by our standards and we should have had more from the manager and every player in the team on the night, but our supporters need to accept that despite budgets etc. we have no god given right to get results and stop whining like wee bitches every time something doesn't go our way or to our liking.
  17. Contradicting yourself there straight away, they make the ultimate decision you agree, ergo they are who need to be lobbied. If you want the numbers the club are asking for, ask them, they’ll tell you, don’t just assume the worst. Why are you answering for piffer? cheers PE
  18. Are we going to have to put up with this pish patter every single time we feel aggrieved about something? I had you down as one of the sensible ones. It makes no sense for the club not to push for as many as possible, are you seriously suggesting that they don’t want fans at games? The council hold all the cards, it’s your council rep you should be lobbying, not the club, we’re all on the same page here although you’d never know it at times. I’ll wager you’ve not approached them have you?
  19. There were no free kids tickets last year for the exact same reason. They can’t say too much about it in case it affects season ticket sales throughout the leagues, fans happy to watch at home via IPTV and the like and clubs get nothing. If we’re not in the top division next year everything changes ergo any season ticket offer was always going to be a proposal because our future is still unsure, pretty sure that was said, and now repeated to Trust members by their reps report on the AGM.
  20. IPTV is king. Very poor show, we get half this cash. Sadly this is the mentality of a lot of our fans, and it will be the same ones who go daft at our lack or quality of our signings.
  21. Putting it far more succinctly than me but effectively what I was trying to get at. Club tries to do right by the fans, fans use it against them then get upset when anyone calls them out on it.
  22. Apparently it does, if they don't like what they read (or more to the point don't understand it) then your "talking a load of pish". Don't worry, I give it out so I can take it. Although skydog gets away with "The club, not the fans, was at fault for the COVID outbreak." That's an absolute belter of an accusation as far as talking pish goes.
