  1. He was not sent up on no pay, he was sent up on his Burnley wage which Killie paid a small, very small part of, it was the fact that after the first weeks he had no contribution to accommodation food transport, but still having to pay out in England he could not pay for a place up there.
  2. They did in a way he wanted help to get things sorted out at killie but they were not happy with Killies contributions so they never fort for him to find ways around things. they thought he was too good for Killie to have for nothing, am not going to say what part of his wage they paid but am sure i would of got more working 2 days a week in a shop
  3. Things that were promised did not happen not just on Killies side of it.
  4. Nice of you all to send your best wishers to George, as the last post say's you only have my side of it, likewise I only have George's side of it. If it was me I would of lived in a tent to play football at any club. Over the last four years though I have seen a complete different side to the game, and I'm surprised we don't hear of so many more stories like George's. Seeing boys train all week travel for hours on a bus to sit on a bench week in week out, is soul destroying, I saw it time and time again at Everton with some lads never getting a game but training hard all week, living away from home with people they don't know. At the age of 16 moving in to a house with other young lads with a house parent, no activity after training to stimulate them, bring them together as a group. So for anyone to think it is a walk in the park like I once thought, are wrong, to become a pro footballer takes a lot more than been good at football it takes a lot more. Everyone wants to be your friend, every girl wants to go out with you, most who don't get what they want then try anything to try make you fail I have seen him struggle with all this over the years. Seen him go so low he left the game he had no money, where did they all go then ? Sign for Burnley how many came out the woodwork, not an easy life. I work hard long hours anyway if not hard as am sure most on here do, and we all think how great it must be to be a footballer but having seen what a young lad has to do am not sure it would of been for me. My son was in the army and he had more control over his life than a youth footballer has. Hope this has given some insight and I wish every young lad following his dream all the success in the world, and I wish Killie all the very best for the season.
  5. Just to clear a few things up, George is back at Burnley, simple reason, Killie wanted him for nothing. He still has financial commitments In England and having to pay for everything out of his own pocket including the match day suit was too much. Staying with my cousin was his way of trying to afford it, which he is very grateful to them for doing and was very happy to be with them. However the lack of commitment from Killie in helping out in getting him a place he could be with his young family or even helping out with travel to see them either in a money way or a practical time scale way was getting him down. He made the choice to go back to Burnley. Other loan players were having wages and add on's payed along with there rent. Don't get me wrong it was said he was a scruffy bugger leaving stuff all over the dressing room which he was fined for, but on the whole I think he felt unwanted by the club. On the other hand Burnley wanted him out on loan they should make more of a commitment in the same way.
  6. I thought Luke played well tonight, yes there was a couple of mistakes but even the best pros do that for, me he did well and can only improve with game time. Well done Luke.
  7. Great effort by the lads tonight great result, very pleased with George when he came on, didn't have long but the few things he did he did well. Thought the whole team did well very happy with tonight Come on Killie.
  8. George told me yesterday he thinks he is on the bench, not starting the game, it's not a bad thing if they can keep it close and bring George on around the 60 mark but put him in a free role behind the strikers you would see a very different George Green.
  9. I was hoping for a win today, but not knowing much about the spfl I am hoping Killie win every game. Can anyone who went to the game let me Know how George Green played while he was on. Don't be shy let me have a true report good or bad. Thank you in advance.
  10. Fully agree I thought he made some great saves that really won the game for Killie, also thought he could of done better for there goal. I would also of liked to see more variation on playing the ball out, I thought he could of thrown or kicked it out quicker a lot of the time but he chose to hold on to the ball and kick it down the middle every time Take nothing away though from how important those saves were, well done
  11. My son was at Elland Rd yesterday he said it was shocking football I hope it gets better soon at least for Leeds anyway.
  12. Ossett was bad have to give you that I only went once. Not watched much spl so maybe I was expecting too much. I apologise if my comment was out of order.
  13. Just got home, Had a good day out thank you to the guys that introduced them selves to me, was made very welcome. The standard of football was a bit of a shock to the system. As for George I agree with what has been said on here, I personally didn't think he got into the game at all yes a few positives but that was not George's Normal game but he only trained with them once and he has been out for the last month with a torn muscle so I should be happy with a win for Killie on my first trip up. I took George to meet some of the family after the match and he was disappointed with his performance just kept saying he couldn't get on the ball I explained he needs to train with the lads get there trust show them what you can do, so they know what they can expect of you, you did OK love, you will learn how to play at this standard just put a shift in and you will get the crowed behind you, there not daft they could see you have something and want to play for Killie. By the time I dropped him off at the hotel he was saying I am gonna get back to my best and do my best I can for this for this club. If he is given the chance am sure you will all get to see the real George over the next few months, George and all his family thank Kilmarnock for giving him the chance and hope he will make you all proud. Great 3 points lets hope for many more.
  14. Gone straight to Hamilton at the ground now just placed a bet 18/1 for the first goal I think he is starting the game right wing. Not his best position but can do a job cutting in on his left foot he does like to do that but I hope he is given permission to wonder into the middle at times. Can't wait come on Killie come on George give us the first goal
