  1. Yeah but alternatively an older head like that might be saying go and make your money and worst case scenario you’ll get a chance to come back here in 10 years.
  2. I definitely think it could generate more people coming through. If it’s your average Joe and they are getting 1 shot, although I would say it should be 3 goes maybe or have 3 people having a shot each. If the prize was say £20k you could end up with people coming to games purely to buy a ticket (maybe).
  3. I posted this a few years ago on the “old” forum under my old user name (watters) when we used to do the crossbar challenge at half time after the halftime draw or as part of it. When we did the crossbar challenge I’m sure it was X amount per game that could be won. I asked at the time, and this is my idea again, why we couldn’t just continue to roll the prize pot over and over again until someone won it. If no one won for a long time and let’s say that you were building up at £1000 a game (or whatever) then I think this could generate: A - more half time draw ticket sales (as I type this im actually doubting if we still do this) and more income for the club. B - If the money rolled over to a crazy amount it might generate some publicity or more people coming to games to have a chance ( I appreciate that’s a long shot). C - someone will win loads of money. However is there a reason why we couldn’t do this? Do you need to have some sort of license to offer prizes over a certain value etc? Or should I just stop posting on here after this?
  4. Na I think for me it’s time to change back and I think it’ll be worth it. I also think as fans we should maybe see some better games more often although it’s not as if away games on grass are too class or anything. For what it’s worth I’m glad the club tried it. It was a progressive more to give it a bash and if the directors now feel that they can afford to go back then I think that is another progressive move.
  5. He was highly rated at Morton and broke his kneecap. Championship and most premiership clubs can’t afford to sign an injured player so this is the lad just getting back up to speed. I would take him and let Davies go back (no offence to Davies but I would rather have a signed player on the bench than a loan one).
  6. Whatever it is it’s not long enough. He is still so young and, for me, he is becoming a growing influence in the team. More of his teammates are bringing him into play. I didn’t think GT was going to be as good until a couple of years in. For Watson I can’t remember young players other than Boyd or Naismith who have had the impact he has had. It’s been a lot of games now and he’s keeping Polworth, Donnelly and McKenzie out of the team, probably about 500 games of top flight games combined across those 3 players.
  7. We’re certainly threatening a lot more this season. We’ve lost our number 9 today after 15 minutes and still ended the game with 20 shots on goal. 19 shots against Aberdeen last week.
  8. All 4 of the defenders were great I thought. We look pretty solid at the back.
  9. I also agree with Lyons the more games he plays the better he looks (certainly at home I haven’t been away since Fir Park so can’t really comment). Watson was great again today I thought and I want to give a shout out to Marley Watkins who is such a hard worker and has a bit of technical quality thrown in.
  10. If this was American football Kennedy would be the hero with how many yards he carries the ball forward. I had no idea how good he was on the hall he beats his opponent nearly every time on a 1 vs 1.
  11. By the way in the summer I was really worried by the lack of full backs but we’ve got 2 right footed good quality central defenders who can swap positions if needed. We’ve also got 2 left footed good quality defenders who can swap positions if needed. The 4 main options for centre half are really all strong centre halves and I think the manager should be praised for the recruitment. I was an Ash Taylor fan but if Taylor was still here he would most likely be 5th choice for that position this season.
  12. ^^^2 weeks in a row he’s brought Rory and Donnelly on and comfortably saw the game out. ^^^exactly. If he doesn’t make any changes and Aberdeen score and THEN he makes the changes we’d be raging at him for waiting so long and then going defensive. Good game management.
  13. That’s it. Danny believes he is better than the full back and will keep taking him on. Great mentality I love the guy.
  14. Sometimes it feels like you are both taking the thoughts out of my brain and saying them out loud. Great episode again.
  15. Totally agree. With him and Vass signed up we would be in a good position striker wise for a couple of years and (like now) only 1 good player away from being really strong in that area.
  16. I also found this great YouTube piece on Mrs Chadwick. Credit to the content owner I assume they are a contributor here. https://youtu.be/d55FZttXQ1Y?si=7kRAwn3IZ6kYWmGF
  17. RIP Laurel. Thought I would share this article from 1990, hopefully not behind a paywall for anyone it was ok for me. https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/11944204.laurel-sets-a-premier-goal-for-kilmarnock/
  18. Given that we started the game so well and on the front foot does anyone think we might choose to shoot towards the moffat in the first half of the next home game?
  19. Despite us having played more games it’s worth remembering we’ve only lost 3 of 9. Below us currently you have Motherwell with 4 defeats in 8, Hibs with 4 defeats in 9, St Johnstone with 4 defeats in 8 and Ross County with 4 defeats in 7! We are definitely a lot harder to beat and other than Celtic park been a bit unfortunate not to have avoided defeat in the other two games.
  20. Mayo is a great player and he has done between well to very well for us at times since he signed as a RB and then that right hand side of whatever the formation is/was when McInnes tucks 1 in and goes with WBs which, prior to signing for us on loan, I’ll guess he played very little in his career and probably just classed himself as an out and out CB. If….and I’m not basing this on one game and Mayo is probably the the best option at RB, but if……and I stress again if……we could get him regularly playing as a CB like today then he could do very well for us and potentially make a bit of cash.
  21. Ndaba is class. I also thought Polworth was great and I feel with Polworth you will see even more from Watson. Polworth will find him with his good runs.
  22. I’m not going to pretend like I agreed with the team but it definitely worked. I’m assuming like me everyone was shocked to see Wright at RB and Mayo in the middle but Wright kept Nouble quiet and I thought Mayo was superb in the middle. McInnes did this a few times last year as well, just totally threw a bit of a random team (on top of the usual changes every week) and quite often the more baffling teams or formations saw the best performances.
  23. Superb today. Best of the season for me (because we had to go and take charge unlike the 2 OF games) and maybe one of the best under McInnes
