  1. It’s not so much the (non loan) out of contract players I’m worried about, it’s the 2 we are likely to get good offers for that will be hardest to replace!
  2. They really do have a knack of employing the biggest w****rs possible in their media dept…… "It is not understood why the home club did not raise concerns in a more timely manner, given the reoccurring issues they have had with their playing surface at earlier points in the season. "The Rangers team and thousands of our supporters had already arrived at the stadium by the time a decision was reached.” So high and mighty they couldn’t use Dundee FC instead of the “home club”?
  3. Theres no doubt Liverpool beat themselves today with really poor game management having twice reached the final minutes of the tie ahead. That said Man U took the opportunities gifted to them so credit there. Does make you wonder why they only play at that level against Liverpool though? Cheating their fans of that commitment every other week, or something else?
  4. Warming up as a 3 at the back, meaning 3 in the middle and normal front 2
  5. We don’t have a very talented group of referees at present, made worse by them not being brave or confident or just good enough to make the right decisions consistently. This then leads to the VAR stepping in too often and making too many suggestions/interventions to the on field ref (in effect re-refereeing the game). The whole premise of only overturning clear and obvious errors has disappeared down a rabbit hole of incompetent and over zealous officials.
  6. Slight concern we’ll get outnumbered in midfield 3v2 too often but our front two definitely work hard in turns to drop into that pocket. We definitely have a physical edge looking at the line ups so set pieces could be key.
  7. As I said few weeks back, he come across as a gobs**te. Threw his squad under the bus with his comments and was as ungracious as I expected towards us, after we completely outplayed his mob. “I couldn’t watch that every week……they’ll get found out on grass I think”. Grade A Prick up here for a jolly and getting found out with every game.
  8. The contrast I felt was the expensively assembled young team Chelsea decided to play, versus the academy-heavy team Liverpool were forced to finish with. Yes, an expensively bought senior player (& all time great PL defender imo) scored the winner but where was the impact from their opponents expensively assembled cast? Their best player was Gallagher, another brought through the ranks. The biggest compliment paid to these Liverpool academy graduates is their manager’s willingness to throw them into big games and let them play their own game. Kelleher & Bradley were exceptional again.
  9. In your opinion that’s not our best starting 11 ant this precise point in the season, obviously it’s not Derek McInnes’!
  10. Plenty of offensive options on the strongest bench in Scottish football 👊💪🔵⚪️🔵⚽️
  11. If you are honestly waiting until you believe even fleetingly, that a club of our size could actually win the league nowadays I think you may be waiting a while. We are one of several David’s battling each other whilst looking up at 2 Goliaths who are benefitting more each year from the European gravy train and leaving us farther behind. Even if we were to look even remotely threatening we all understand they’d swoop in and buy our top performers to fill their bench and reserves, get their media pals to drop in the “inside source” stories to unsettle players and hamper us so they retain their advantage. The dice are loaded so much it’s beyond the pale.
  12. Shelf life in one job, taking us as far as is likely, offered a gig at a top club while his stock is high - all sorts of possibilities and that’s only on the positive side of results.
  13. I’d say if he plays at the top of his game for another season he might get close to a centre back squad slot. There’s still plenty of bodies in front of him just now and he hasn’t been consistent over a long enough period. Signs are good though and he’s been a great signing for us.
  14. Yeah, sadly he’s living with a form of dementia but is in good spirits and is doing his best. Definitely worthy of an induction imo, based on his achievements and influence - when we had reached our lowest ebb - both on and off the park. Without him as boss, TB may well never have pulled on the stripes!
  15. Kinda surprised they’ve decided on a 9 aside pitch as kids only play that format for one season normally as a bridge from 7’s to 11’s. But they’ve obviously done their research to make the most of the space available to appeal to a wide circle of community clubs.
  16. Take care of our business tomorrow and a QF against the ‘Ton would bring back happy memories
  17. On the basis they’ve not crossed swords as managers in well over 10 years, Derek never played under him and are unlikely to have built any relationship as a result. Unless you know otherwise in which case you can provide the context that they do have an ongoing friendship/relationship? And for you vouching for his personality off the park, fair dos I’m glad he’s got a nicer side but not many get to see that part of him. Publicly he’s a dick and I’m not going to change my opinion cos part of him isn’t.
  18. Warnock always was and always will be a Grade A Prick. Im fairly sure DM couldn’t give a toss about him.
  19. As far as I’m aware the boys jump from U16 to U18s in the academy structure 👍
  20. Unless ourselves or St Mirren implode, there’s realistically 1 top 6 place up for grabs between 4 teams.
  21. Not a fan then, reading between the lines @dasboag 🤔?
  22. I’d definitely go with 3 in midfield and build around that. To go with 2 bodies in there and 3 strikers would be repeating folly.
  23. I’ve seen a load of posts re Stewart playing out wide. I understand he may have been selected there in the past while at Aberdeen - although DM didn’t really play with wingers as such - but I cannot see that happening this season for us. We’ve already got Danny, Matt, Murray & GMS for those roles, plus DM’s preference is for a back 3 & wing backs. He’ll most likely play off KVV when all are fit.
