  1. Sorry, we've replaced who.... !?!
  2. If I recall correctly SSC wasn't on any lists when the early runners were "announced" by the red top papers following Lee McCulloch's departure and we were told Jim McIntyre was an ideal fit or that John Carver was interested. Bowie is a shrewd businessman and I recall a news article where he said he generally looked for a 10% increase in his businesses year-on-year so I'd assume he'll view Killie in the same light. I don't think he's one to press the panic button and whilst probably not in the same vane as SSC he may well have a surprise appointment up his sleeve. I'd be surprised if our eventual new manager's name has even been linked with us yet via the global betting fraternity.
  3. A few round us in the FB stand - four of them celebrated Dafoe's goal and one ended up in a slanging match with a Killie fan a few rows in front. Both had to be held back by their respective pals and then the interloper was ejected by a steward. His pals were left a bit bemused and left of their own accord a few minutes later.
  4. Voting for any single player seems disrespectful as everyone to a man was tremendous. That said, for the sake of a vote I went with Bachmann as was immense and made three tremendous saves before Defoe scored.
  5. Totally agree - I get the impression from the media conference yesterday that Clarke and Greg Stewart have a good relationship, under Clarke Stewart was presumably closer to a Scotland cap than he was whilst at Aberdeen. Hoping ambition and desire outweigh monetary gain...
  6. Whilst not in exactly the same vane, SSC has experience of players not wanting to play for a team and / or causing disruption to the team [see Peter Odemwingie - West Brom 2012 / 2013] and whilst I'm not suggesting JJ doesn't want to play the rest of the season for Killie or wants to disrupt the team, Clarke will know exactly how to handle both the player and wider situation.
  7. I'd like to see Ndjoli's loan extended until the end of the season - I don't feel we have seen the best of him yet or all he has to offer. Millen know the circumstances of his deal but SSC rates him in terms of work ethic and professionalism [he stated so in recent pre-presser] so I wouldn't be adverse to him getting a new deal too. What is evident is that SSC knows exactly what he's doing and what he wants so I'll wait [im]patiently during the January transfer window to see what he does and who he brings in, and who goes, in readiness for the remainder of the season.
  8. Difficult one again - Power immense, Stewart class, Boyd solid and Jones gave them a torrid time. Gave it to Taylor as I thought he was involved in so much and willed him a goal he really deserves.
  9. Genuinely gutted at the result yesterday, but looking at BBC stats Aberdeen had 60% possession to Killie's 40% - not sure which game they were watching. What was telling was that of our 13 shots at goal, only 3 were on target. Given injuries, suspensions, etc there was some inevitability around the starting 11 but, as has been discussed on here, I thought Njdoli should have been brought on earlier [perhaps at half time] - he seems far more industrious and gave us more options up front. Agree that Bryne looks a decent player and hope he gets a start next week, when we go again. Whilst it's never nice not to win games like that, there is a crumb of comfort that as Killie fans our frustration is around keeping our league position near the top of the table as opposed to the recent years when we've worried how we are going to find the points to climb away from the bottom.
  10. Recent results have, in my opinion, been somewhat overshadowed with the media focusing on 'controversial' decisions which have gone Killie's way. I am hoping for a good game of football, an emphatic victory [4-0] and nothing that the likes of Steven Thompson et al can cast up on Sportscene on Sunday evening to deflect from the team's performance, spirit and ability.
  11. Dundee fans claiming that if they get relegated at the end of the season and the losing margin is only a point or so then the Jones incident could cost them 7 figures as opposed to 3 points. I'd suggest NM's incompetency is the likely reason they'll potentially be relegated rather than a "did he, didn't he" bun fight. [For the record I don't think he did]. They also seem buoyed by the fact Jones is going to miss the St Mirren and Hamilton games and that if Jones' absence means that St Mirren and Hamilton have a better chance of taking points off us, the 'dive' could potentially have a wider reaching impact on them. Talk about delusions of grandeur. I for one hope we absolutely annihilate them when they come to RP.
  12. Between Power and Stewart, went for Power as he does all the hard work in midfield which benefits the team.
  13. Burke for goal, work rate and general reading of the game. Tish a close second
  14. Left of left field - SC’s given John Terry a call and he’ll sign to the end of the season
  15. Left field thought - Darren Bent is out of contract and being offered a 'pay as you play deal'. Might he consider a season long contract under SC ? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45245079
  16. Mulumbu was someone we signed due to SC's previous dealings with him and his [Mulumbu's] circumstances at that time. For me, he's waited too long to be linked with a return and stories in the press today suggest he's had interest from others which he's likely to look at before returning to RP. My biggest surprise over this transfer window is not only the lack of business done but that there have been very few 'rumours'; when SC first joined we were linked with Mulumbu, Tshibola, Simpson, et al who added something to the team. He obviously had dealings with Wolves & Aston Villa so where have the wider contacts SC previously used gone to ?
  17. I think this is the crux of the problem, SSC is looking for players who are either free agents or loans, either of which we can afford, and are going to improve the squad. Given the criteria I suspect anyone fitting that description would have a few offers to consider. I seem to recall he mentioned looking further afield i.e. abroad, so maybe there's something going on behind the scenes on that front. I go from being slightly concerned one minute to thinking he's going to pull an absolute gem out the bag in the next couple of weeks...
  18. I think there are several factors leading to Clarke’s current difficulties / dilemma. Firstly, he has some loyalty to the squad from last season, he’s stated that publicly and wants to give them a chance and promote some stability in the squad. Secondly, I believe he’ll only look to bring in someone who can improve the squad, with a limited budget he’ll be looking to spend it wisely. No point making a signing for the sake of making a signing – see Lee Clark’s 11 signing in one day, June 2016. He’s a shrewd manager / coach and knows what he wants to achieve and I don’t think he’ll make any rash actions just to appease the masses. I’m sure he has a player or two up his sleeve who he’ll announce in the coming weeks to settle all our nerves [I hope]. I agree Mulumbu is a big loss, but again we were told to enjoy him whilst he’s here - I just think he’s set the bar quite high for others to follow. Week 2 of the season and both old firm teams have dropped points, Hearts are top of the league and Killie are the only SPL team not to concede a goal. Who had that on their coupon…?
