  1. Many thanks to all Trust members who attended last night's members' engagement session, which was a really positive, engaging meeting and another great chance to talk about the Trust's future ambitions. We look forward to seeing many members at the forthcoming 'On Board in Person' event with Killie manager Derek McInnes. We've noted the conversations about providing clarity on the Trust (a members' organisation with an annual £10 membership fee), and 'Trust in Killie' (our long-term funding campaign to raise money to support member-backed projects). We're really keen to rebrand 'TiK' and will be relaunching later this year with an exciting new project. For now, we'd love to hear your ideas. We'd welcome your ideas on a name to rebrand 'TiK', firmly branding it as our primary fundraising campaign, and placing it right at the heart of growing our contributions and membership. As always, we really welcome your input. Please feel free to send us a message here with your suggestions.
  2. What a fantastic response to our 'Growing Our Club's Future' Season Ticket donation campaign. Since this project was launched a week ago, thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we've now secured another two rows in the Moffat Stand (28 seats/row), IN ADDITION to our 'safe standing' area in the Moffat. We are continuing to develop our organised Secondary School supporter groups and these seats will be allocated to them. We very much look forward to welcoming school representatives and staff to Rugby Park on 14 June to get all their thoughts and ideas, drive the supporter group initiative forward and energise a real connection with young supporters and our Club. There are a further EIGHT ROWS available in the Moffat Stand Block. Dare we dream? If you feel that you are able to support our campaign in any way, you can do so HERE
  3. With the recent launch of our Club’s 2022/23 season ticket offer, generous Killie fans have already been in touch with the Killie Trust offering to donate money to purchase tickets for others. Working in partnership with the Club and the Kilmarnock Community Sports Trust (KCST), we will continue giving match tickets to support the fantastic work done by our local Social Work Department Family Support team, whose efforts touch so many households experiencing extremely challenging circumstances. Donations this season will also go towards purchasing under 16 tickets for our Moffat Family Stand, in an effort to reduce the average age of the match-going supporter. The Trust are extremely proud to have been involved in creating the first safe standing family area in the country. Previous generous donations have allowed us to purchase available spaces there for young people for the new season, which will generate a unique atmosphere in future match days. We are developing a strategy to encourage as many young people as possible to support and get more involved with our football club. We want to build on the positivity of our recent Championship success by introducing more youngsters to Rugby Park and to inspire a life-long love of watching LIVE football. Our joint aim is to create the next generation of Killie fans and build a club with a greater bond with local young people. · We are already involved in encouraging the growth of supporter groups in East Ayrshire Secondary Schools with plans to build this initiative into North Ayrshire, · We are working to further develop the Moffat Stand FanZone area to energise young supporters before home matches; and · We will launch our Trust membership for under 16’s next month, which will include a number of special features and benefits. This group will form a board of young people who will help shape the future of the Trust and have a voice within the club via our Director representative. Participation brings enjoyment. Enjoyment brings loyalty. Loyalty, when shared, helps forge a fan culture. Without fans, football is nothing. With young fans getting behind our Club both on and off the park, our Club’s future will look even more secure. As Club legend Ross Mathie rightly put it, “Once Killie is in your blood, you’re Killie ‘til you die”. If you feel that you are able to support our campaign, you can do so via this LINK.

There are costs involved in production though - tools like Adobe Audition, Canva, Podbean and Wavve. If you are in a position to support the podcast, that would be fantastic! You can contribute here: https://ko-fi.com/killiehistories Next month, there will be a third series, and we have plans to develop and expand, if we can.
  16. We had a brief chat once we stopped recording and Tommy was keen to say again just how much he valued his time at the club. A really modest, nice guy. "The skill factor was possibly myself and Davie Sneddon." POSSIBLY!
  17. Tommy McLean is one of the all-time greats. Hear his memories of that special European comeback...from 4-0 down against Eintracht Frankfurt. The interview was only half an hour but he had a lot to say: Surprise European debut Taking penalties v Madrid Strengths of 1960s Killie Bond with Willie Waddell Move to Rangers Scotland Tommy doesn't do many interviews these days and explained that he spoke to me because he has such great affection for the club. He went out of his way to do the interview...and it is very much appreciated. A modest man with a lifetime of achievements...at Killie and beyond! LISTEN FOR FREE HERE
  18. Kilmarnock FC Historian John Livingston puts it best: "Tommy McLean was the star of the greatest ever game played at Rugby Park." Read John's profile of an all-time great of Scottish football...before the interview is released later this morning.
  19. Not only is Ronnie Hamilton the star interviewee for the first episode of the new series, but today is his 75th birthday. ALL THE VERY BEST to our 1964-65 top scorer* *Chairman, supporter, Hall of Famer and everything else!
  20. Thanks Alan! Glad you enjoyed it. And it's a privilege to speak to these icons of our club. Tommy McLean next week...
  21. Only one player in Kilmarnock FC's 150-year history has been the top scorer for the league champions...Ronnie Hamilton. Still the club's youngest-ever player, Ronnie talks about the special night in 1964 when Killie were five goals ahead against Celtic. The 5-2 victory set a marker for the Ayrshire men, on route to the club's sole league title. As player, European goalscorer, title-winner, coach, board member, Chairman and supporter, Ronnie Hamilton's service to Kilmarnock can be counted in decades. The episode is now live on podbean, and will appear on Apple, Pocket Casts, Spreaker and Spotify during the day.
  22. We had lots of offers of help from various people but alas noone could find it.
  23. Before next week's new series featuring Ronnie Hamilton and Tommy McLean, catch up with Series 1. Iconic games in the words of those who played... All episodes free to listen HERE
  24. George Maxwell? Tennent Caledonian Cup? Several other players and seasons? If only there was a Kilmarnock podcast with a series on the 70s for release in the autumn...
