  1. Good deal for both the player and the club. It would have been daft to get him fit only to let him go, especially as he's proved he still has the ability at this level.
  2. I only caught up with the match after the lineups had been announced and was surprised to hear him mentioned. Can't think of owt he did beyond a duff cross and a corner! Nice to see big Josh getting a run out though. Excellent 70s style tash on the fella!
  3. They're getting high enough attendances at the SoL despite local problems (which affect Newcastle too) so I don't think the financial aspect was the issue. If every home fan had chipped in to reach that £5k total, it'd have been 10p each (I know that's not what happened), if they'd raised their stake to £1 they could have had something decent looking and change for future displays or whatever. I'd say the lack of commitment to supporting the side in a derby that hasn't happened for 8 years is pretty embarrassing.
  4. That would have been ITVs sound I imagine, though the home support did quieten down a bit after the second goal. The display wasn't great. Apparently some fans were holding up cards from their remembrance day display, only raised £5k from fans too with £10k put in by the owner: bit embarrassing that.
  5. Bit of a tame encounter in the end. Newcastle were absolutely dominant throughout, never got out of second gear and were gifted all three goals. Ballard managed to be Sunderland's best and worst player!
  6. Wear Tyne derby in the FA Cup for me today. Should be spicy!
  7. Yes and yes for me. Post Jefferies, I feel that we've seen the beginnings of something great with Mixu, Kenny and Clarke. Those promising signs never came to fruition for a couple of reasons, but I think that with McInnes and a sensible board we're really heading in the right direction. I think it's beneficial all round for him to stay. He'd be nuts to go somewhere like Birmingham City, past West Brom affiliations aside that club is a basket case.
  8. Probably promotion for me initially, and now starting to see some stability is encouraging.
  9. He's our joint top scorer... Usually has a couple of players around him too because of the threat he poses. That restricts him, but allows space for the rest of the team. Can't think of much more I'd like to see from the big fella. An asset to the side for sure IMO.
  10. Whoever said their pitch looks great earlier in the thread is having a laugh. Bobbly as owt and the ball slows down ridiculously.
  11. Don't get the dislike for Barnes personally, but that's by the by. We're hardly on the ropes. Haven't been seriously troubled. Solid performance.
  12. When I'm less skint hopefully there will still be tickets available! Loved Skip, gave his all for us, even when it was clear his legs were gone and he was a bit of a liability. That header against Rangers is one of my fondest memories.
  13. Second half team, for the wrong reasons, but happy with a win!
  14. From the Beeb: Utter dismay in the Rugby Park press room as it becomes clear there are no famous Killie pies on offer to the scribblers and broadcasters at half-time. Christmas ruined for several journos. I'm sure we can all agree that this is an absolute outrage.
  15. I'm starting to feel resigned about this, but I hope not. If we do I would be very annoyed if it was to someone else in Scotland, he'll certainly be on the radars of everyone up here, and I'd assume a fair few in England with any sort of a clue.
  16. Ta. I thought I'd seen he was a bit better than touch and go. Rather have him at full strength than carrying a knock or a bug.
  17. Good line up. Have I missed an injury to Kennedy?
  18. Neither Fow nor Rory are/were one club men. I know that's being a bit pedantic, for which I apologise, and they're clearly Killie through and through. Up there with Holt as personal favourites of mine.
  19. Danny's assists are what really make him an asset. He's miles ahead of anyone on that front. I hope he stays. We need players with that kind of creativity With him and Kennedy running at the opposition we are a far more threatening prospect.
  20. Nuno is probably a good move for Forest. Not really sure what more Cooper could have done.
  21. It's close, but I'd go with Falkirk in League One. Unbeaten in the league. As for us, I'm pretty happy. I was annoyed to see us losing against Hearts, but more than made up with the week that followed, and getting a point against Livi kept that positivity going. I feel like we could be on for a top six finish which would be lovely, though there's still a long way to go!
  22. Pat Nevin is excellent, but I don't think he gets much air-time in Scotland.
  23. Agreed. It was an awkward shot, Dennis did well but O'Riley reacted first. Kept us in it for the first 15 minutes. I particularly liked the low dive to his left which totally changed the angle of McGregor's cross to Johnston. That was going in if he hadn't diverted it away.
