  1. Lyons for me. Could see his hunger when he came on last week against Livi and followed that up in today’s game. May this continue. A nice wee Ayrshire derby draw in the quarters will go down a treat!
  2. Chambers for me. Young lad making his senior debut in a what could have been a very difficult atmosphere. He was brilliant! Well done!
  3. To me, this shows that there is a breakdown or issues behind the scenes here. Club can’t bring in a certain level of player whilst other clubs around us can. Now our only striker that’s proven to score goals for us, wants to leave. Unfortunately this seems like a red flag. I truly hope I’m wrong.
  4. I know we as fans get frustrated and impatient when it comes to this window in particular. The January window seems to be a lot harder to get players in than the summer window for starters. Maybe bcoz of players contract situations and teams looking for money etc. which we can’t afford. I believe that DM would have had his targets in place well in advance. Maybe they are taking longer to get over the line, or maybe it’s about needing to free up a certain number of wages first to allow players in. Or possibly DM isn’t used to having to compete with a lower budget that what he was used to with Aberdeen at this level and being out bid. Who knows… The one concern for me is that of the strikers that he has brought in. I don’t see many goals in our options at the moment.
  5. Totally agree! If done right, it would be a classic!
  6. Difficult to argue against this topic. On Wednesday night, I thought our midfield was the best balanced it has been all season. We had pace, control and creativity. Donnelly (arguably our worst signing this season) played a blinder. May this continue! Polworth and McKenzie also looked like fresh signings wanting to prove a point. Also, the link with Robinson worked perfectly. We just need a better option than Doidge and we will be an exciting team going forward again. As much as I’m a big fan of Power, we can’t change our midfield after our best performance this season. Don’t fix something that isn’t broken mentally here! Also, in my opinion, that lineup deserve their starting places for the next game after that performance. Bring on 2023!
  7. I have come to realise that he isn’t capable of having a discussion or debate. Thank you for the advice.
  8. He always came deep to collect the ball. Clarke was smart enough to notice that we needed to play 3 in the middle with someone creative (as you say) to “roam” and create. Clarke does the same with McGinn for Scotland. Who do we have that can play as an attacking/creative midfielder?
  9. Stewart was played as a number 10 role/ attacking midfielder behind either Brophy or Boyd. Mulumbu took that role when we lost Stewart. Power and Dicker did the dirty work to allow a creative player to do theirs. However, we don’t have that creative player. You still haven’t answered my question about who do we currently have as a creative player to play behind our striker?
  10. Power, Dicker and also either Greg Stewart or Mulumbu playing along side at that time. Stewart and Mulumbu were the creative players that I’m referring to. Who do we currently have?
  11. I’m all for bringing in better players in any position. The point I was making was that without a creative midfielder, we will always struggle to create chances no matter who the striker is at moment. We would need a striker who is capable of doing it all themselves, however we don’t have that kind of money to get a player of that calibre.
  12. True, and I have seen Cameron and others make those runs but they don’t have the creative quality behind them to give them a through ball or a decent enough link up play to build an attack with. In my opinion, our midfield needs an overhaul. Which current midfielder, would you say creates chances for our strikers?
  13. I would argue that we need a better midfielder that’s capable of supplying our strikers. We could buy another striker and still create zero chances for the striker, so what’s the point in that?
  14. The game was over by that point. Dundee Utd let us play around with ourselves. Power should never be benched if fit.
  15. McInnes changed too many players today in the middle of the park (never mind starting Doidge) Changing that many will affect the flow of any team. Donnelly hasn’t showed he’s able to be a starter and without Power (arguably our best performing midfielder) was just suicide. No leader in the middle. Anytime it seems like McInnes has a line up or formation down, he then completely changes it. Tonight was a game that was a must win and should be one we are winning. I honestly don’t know where we go from here. Only positive is that there’s still time to get it sorted, but how is the question?
