  1. I think Clarke needs to stay. Could be a Curbishley at Charlton moment otherwise.
  2. I agree he's more of a right of a three than a right back or wing back especially at international level. I agree he'll play for Scotland in the future but this summer probably isn't far enough into the future barring a few injuries to those rightly or wrongly ahead of him. Part of my reasoning is that he didn't immediately settle (albeit in a struggling side) when he joined us and international football is a much higher level. I think he's a lad who has had to work very hard at his game to make the improvements he has and that's more credit to him and the coaching staff. Assuming he has to do that again at the next level the European Championship, more than even a World Cup where you can get some weaker teams, isn't the place to do it.
  3. He's certainly had less reason to make a lot of changes than last season!
  4. I do accept the basic point that Armstrong's situation is different to Watson's. My post was about what is right for the club and I'd respect any players right to decide what's best for them although I despise those who obviously take their bat and home to force a move when they were happy enough to sign a contract in the first place! I hope we get another season from Watson and it would be good if Matty Kennedy shared his experience with the lad because moving away and struggling to get anywhere near the first team of (say) an EPL club won't do him much good. A loan back for another season might be a good option for all concerned.
  5. To me one of the biggest aspects of the progress the club is making is that we shouldn't be desperate to sell ......... other than at the right price! The more so if others of the promising youngsters come through in the same way!
  6. I like Kiltie as a player but negating Watson to try to stop him is a win for St. Mirren before you start. I can't remember Kiltie ever doing much against us. Put this another way, "Would you swap Watson for Kiltie?" If, like me, your answer is "No" then it was clearly a case of our manager looking to negate the opposition rather than impose ourselves on them. A tendency many have complained about on here. When this team is unleashed they're more than a match for the likes of St. Mirren as Saturday's second half proved. My message would be take the more aggressive approach in the next three games and Europe should be in our grasp. In particular don't try to adapt to the likes of St. Johnstone and especially the Highland anti footballers just impose ourselves on them!
  7. I don't understand how we've gone from a team that never gives up to a team that never turns up in a couple of weeks?
  8. This guy has been a great signing!
  9. We need to go there with the right attitude. Our record there is pretty poor over the years. I also remember a game at RP on a Saturday after Dundee had conceded six at Ibrox on the Wednesday. We were 2-0 up after 75 minutes when my eldest lad said, "We've won this now dad!" It finished 2-2 and after totally dominating we ended up lucky not to lose! Safe to say my lad knows never to say that again! Can't dismiss them as an easy proposition.
  10. It's not that long ago we were having no shots and certainly none on target for games at Aberdeen and Hibernian let alone the twisted sisters. Now we're looking down on the likes of Aberdeen and Hibernian and worrying the hell out of the others. Not settling for that but what a transformation.
  11. Another reason for wanting Ipswich to go up is that there's a real chance same three will go up that came down last year whilst swapping places with the three promoted to Premier League last year. That just doesn't feel healthy to me!
  12. I did something similar for August/September and felt we could have no points going into September and get the maximum that month. It went completely the other way and taught me a lesson. Just have to keep on keeping on!
  13. Doonhamers can't afford him!
  14. Don't worry about cup game. A semi final is just par for the course for a team in the top four! Unless you get a difficult draw ...... Aberdeen (even away) isn't in that category at the moment!
  15. They should be getting used to us beating them. Never mind, they can practice again in a fortnight!
  16. I think I'd have given up if that goal had been disallowed. Even having a review and it taking as long as it did was deeply suspicious!
  17. I was thinking of his nightmare half hour against the same opponents at Rugby Park last season. Deserves even more credit for coming on and creating a lovely assist. Always felt there was a player there and I hope that he can keep this progress going!
  18. If the boy has another year on his contract we give him every chance to come back. A good preseason might just do it ....... in which case we're on a winner. If not, we did the right thing, no brainer in my opinion.
  19. Some of the talk on here is that we really only improved when the subs were made. Now, I'm only listening on the radio but that isn't how it seemed. Our press became more energetic they got unsettled and then the subs increased the threat. We then got our reward and could even have won. Brilliant effort and great management I just wish every Killie fan could just be really happy tonight!
  20. This is brilliant. If we can manage these boys correctly potentially there's a golden generation here. At best the £1m losses we've been experiencing will be neither here nor there!
  21. Didn't Warnock have a health scare? My impression is that he's mellowed a bit ...... most with a modicum of sense (and granted time to live and learn) do eventually!!
  22. Thanks a brilliant suggestion .... here's hoping!!
  23. Morton playing well and I wanted them to win ........ then I saw Imrie looking happy! Feeling conflicted now!!
  24. If we had three players all passing morning fitness tests and starting a subdued performance was understandable. Of course a number on the bench aren't ready for 90 minutes either for one reason or another but surely you play one or at most two of the three who just made it? This is especially true in a game were we had to force the pace against an opposition only too happy to sit back and play on the break. Others can come on as impact subs as per Kennedy if/when required.
  25. Still got scars from witnessing the 1-5 years ago! Livi contribute nothing to this league so its bye bye from me!
