Why did it take John McGinn in his second cap to stand up to the Slovakian midfield and tackle back we seem to lack a leader on the park which was really apparent when Darren Fletcher went (a player way past his best) although the defence was poor, when the midfield don't perform it just highlights this. edited for punctuation

Before the debt deal we had a bank debt of around ten million pounds but the group was servicing this debt and maintaining a fairly even book over the year. Now we have no debt to service no hotel and a loss of three quarter of a million pounds I don't exactly know what the interest payments were but if they were at 2.5% then that would be around two hundred and fifty thousand pounds. Either the hotel was clearing a million pounds a year and doing what it was built for, or the arrangements between club and hotel are such that the flow of the finances would seem to be in the wrong direction.

How many of us now would take Bobby's style and walk away with a cup and three European campaigns. I know it was a time where the spending got out of control and left us where we are now, but if you were born in the seventies it was as close to our glory days as I'm ever likely to see.
