@Killiecal Sorry for short notice but any chance of two seats tomorrow. My mates dad is attending with us. Cheers -
The defeat at Cowdenbeath in 1990, was not long after Bobby had taken control, Jim was manager. Fans were raging, he came (on final whistle) to say he knew it was unacceptable and he would fix it, he did eventually. That was last time we lost to Cowdenbeath away, hence that's why fans were going nuts. The two games at Cowden in the First Div. season Killie won.

Weekly protests out the back of the Main Stand post match we are feature of the boardroom struggles of the late 80's. Can remember going to games and switching from the terracing that is the East Stand now, around to the Enclosure in front of Main Stand at half time, so we could be in position for the protests, and to heckle the board.

These two games were truly brutal and toxic too, but the one that sticks out for me that season was Cowdenbeath away(will need to check the details). It was horrendous for so many reasons, not least the depressing venue, bitterly cold too. I think a 2-1 defeat and our goal was a scrambled effort in last min if memory serves. Bobby Fleeting left the main stand and came into the away end in an attempt to appease some of the Killie fans, ultimately he did but there was a scary few mins where things could have got very ugly, as he came across to speak to the Killie fans that were there. My memory again may be wrong but he had to sack his brother Jim soon after, and well the rest is history......... My recollection is that away to Cowdenbeath was the lowest point in my time following the club and probably the low point in the clubs history. Edit - Jan 13th 1990, Cowden 2-1 Killie

Written I am sure by Steve Earle, but probably known to many of us via The Proclaimers Sunshine on Leith album, I always thought this song summed up Killie for me. Killie are My Old Friend The Blues............... Just when every ray of hope was gone I should have known that you would come along I can't believe I ever doubted you........ My old friend the blues Another lonely night, a nameless town If sleep don't take me first, you'll come around 'Cause I know I can always count on you....... My old friend the blues Lovers leave and friends will let you down But you're the only sure thing that I've found No matter what I do I'll never lose....... My old friend the blues Just let me hide my weary heart in you........ My old friend the blues

Not sure if it was a deliberate ploy or not, but Dennis went down injured during first half. We commented at the time that we didn’t think it was a genuine injury. McInnes used it to get all 10 outfield players over to touchline and deffo changed formation, think it was manufactured. From that point forward we were excellent, and Dennis showed absolutely no ill effects of his ‘injury’.

Great home support last night. I still struggle with Old Firm games, they just make my blood boil. Yet again last night we were treated to 'Old Firm Ultras' (sic) being allowed to wander about the area behind the goal(pitch side) pre-match to set up displays and flags. At the Livi home game, I saw a young lad at part of 1869 mob marched out of that area for having a flag pole 🤷♀️ One rule for them another for home fans. Then after 2nd goal up to 100 fans pitch side celebrating, all ushered back to their seats following the break in, rest assured if Killie fans attempted similar at Dundee on Saturday we would be lifted. Things are so much better now since both sets of fans are down to one stand, but still both home games give my blood reason to boil, and I need to work out if its worth it.

Again money well spent, may not have been sold on but a cup winning goal, is worth its weight in gold.

6000+ would be an excellent crowd for this, (4-5000 home fans with, 1-1500 away fans). Reality, it will be 5000+ (4-4500 home, and 5-800 away). Just don't think at today's prices that walk ups are really a thing anymore, 1-200 max home walk ups, which are off set slightly by Season Ticket holder's who cant make the game. -
