  1. Thinking the same. Cash being syphoned to other businesses. Thats what you would be thinking with a "normal" business.
  2. No idea who the next manager will be but i think you can assume that this time it will not be an "exotic" appointment but a steady but safe pair of hands. I am sure BB will be thinking of that good old saying " one mistake is a misfortune twice is careless."
  3. My own personal thoughts from a foreign land. When the appointment was made I had reservations. I thought that bb was believing his own hype and this influenced the appointment. He saw Alessio as a marque signing to show Scottish football that we meant business. He lost sight of the environment in which we play. A low level backwater league with two teams lightyears ahead in respect of resources and finance. As a result we had a coach who in terms of background was probably as good as any seen in Scotland. And that was the problem. He was overqualified with what he was working with. The players are in the main journeymen who would always have difficulty in achieving the high aims that Alessio targeted. They did not have the necessary technical ability and possibly application. This must have been frustrating for both the players and the manager. We do not have the financial clout to bring in the players who would have been a better fit with Alessio’s vision. SCC knew what he was working with and their limitations and operated within these perameters. Alessio was a good idea on paper but not in reality.
  4. In all honesty can you? Take off your blue tinted specs please.
  5. Hearts in that first half hour were as disorganised as any team I have seen. They made us look exceptional rather than possibly the most boring team in the league.
  6. Must make sure I post this before every game!
  7. I suppose as Boaby said " go to the pictures if you want entertained"
  8. Like most I considered getting a result today would be difficult given the players missing. However I still think that some players are still not pulling their weight. I am talking at times when they are under no pressure but still seem unable to pass a ball twenty yards or control a decent pass. Usual suspects today Brophy, Miller. Thomas and surprisingly Chris Burke who I thought had a mare. Surprisingly we worked the keeper and probably had more efforts at goal than we have seen in recent games.
  9. Totally agree with Bobby14. In the first half Livi played more football on the ground than we did. I thought we were the ones that continually played "hoof" ball trying to find a midget front three. Easily dealt with by the centre backs or running through to the Livi goalkeeper. Thank god things improved in the second half.
  10. Twelve minutes gone and their keeper has still to touch the ball!
  11. Thought the signing of Sow was a non-event. Hope I am proved wrong. However now we have him I thought the general consensus was that he would play upfront with Brophy in order to take the weight of the wee guy and give us a more physical presence uptop allowing brophy more space. Still to happen.
  12. Our football is attritional. No spark, no creativity. I don't think that the Hibs keeper made a save in the 120 minutes of play which is hellish. Sow is not the answer. Watched hima few times with United last year. He is as slow as week in the jail and could not control a bag of cement. It will be a long hard and probably boring season.
  13. As long as its not Brophy via the whole Hibs defence as per previous games. Thought we would see him getter better support today. Again could be dullsville.
  14. I noticed today in the local town centre (Glenrothes) that Sky TV had a pop-up flogging Sky Sports. Two/three large displays showing footballers. Normally anticipate Premiership players with occasional Old Firm players as a nod to Scotland. Low and behold the three players shown were Dele Alli (Spurs), Luke Ayling (Leeds Utd.) and our very own Eamonn Brophy. Good to see us up there. Pity they don't show us on many games outwith the Old Firm.
  15. I wonder where we are at the moment. Rumour on the Taylor thread suggests two incoming from Celtic loan/permanent. If correct this would appear to be in addition to our existing targets. I cannot think that the club's transfer strategy was based on the sale of Taylor going through. Very risky if it was! Can we expect further signings from our original target group. Suddenly going from famine to feast.
  16. Heard on the rumour mill that we are looking at signing a player from the Norwegian Club Fotballaget Fart
  17. i.e a great coach but never a manager. Mmmmm.
  18. I have no inside info and maybe by the end of August things will have fallen into place with regard to signings. I have thoughts that the Nomads result maybe has had an impact on our strategy. I am aware that BB has said we would have a larger player budget via league position etc last season. In addition we have lost some big earners of the books Boydie, Mulumba, Tish etc. We would have budgeted to attract players of a certain level/cost ratio based on these figures. Along comes a Euro draw against Nomads. Lowest rated team in the competition. It seems accepted that after costs we lost potential income of £350/400K via further UEFA payment together with say a 10,000 gate via Partizan. It is possible that having time to see the existing players Alessio decided we would have to bring in higher quality players based on the above "bonus" income. This resulted in us re-thinking our signing strategy and speaking with agents/players and offering higher salaries. Now these monies are up in smoke we are unable to get these new deals over the line and we are back to the budget initially set. Maybe totally of the mark - who knows.
  19. Yes he is a prick. The difference is he is not employed in Italy and has no need to communicate in Italian to carry out his expected day to day duties.
  20. if the Huns are in. They will get him.
  21. Heard they will be signed in time for next season. Maybe!
  22. I agree. But why the hold up. Who does this benefit?
  23. Does this suggests that Liam Millar is not coming with the financial settlement being the problem. We would have known weeks ago if either the player or Liverpool were not happy to bring him to Killie.
  24. Suppose its slightly better than having a Dick on your head!. LOL.
  25. I am more and more convinced that the Steve Clarke era could have been the high point for the Club in our recent times and was an impossible act to follow. Clarke seemed to see the appointment as a bit of a project which fitted in exactly with his personal family circumstances at the time. Everything seemed to come together, previously ordinary players lifted their game and the results were outstanding. Last year we talked about doing a Leicester. In my books we achieved this. Not winning the league obviously but to finish third and our performances against the Old Firm, record points total etc was extraordinary given our resources/money not only as compared to the Old Firm but Aberdeen Hearts and Hibs. Now back to the post heading. Did the Board expect Alessio to take us to the next level? To me this would appear to be an impossible hope given the realities of Scottish football. I consider if we finished in the top four this would be success. You would always hope their is a chance of winning a cup but this has always been the case. He was not going to see player budget increase by £x millions. We would still be looking for signings at a modest level. Were the board over influenced by his CV, if you can do such a thing. He had all the credentials with regard to quality of teams, players, managers, leagues he was involved with but was this transferable to Killie and the SPL? Were the board expecting an influx of Serie A players on loan? I suppose this could still happen Either way I feel this is not going to end well although I hope to God I am wrong.
