  1. Fair point Bullitt, I had forgotten about the unchallenged headers and there were quite a few. To be fair Boyle was better 2nd half, as you say he was up against a very experienced player and he does need to try and stick with a settled back 4 once he's found a right back.
  2. Totally agree. I came out feeling much better than when I went in. Feared an absolute doing and some +ve signs 2nd half incl cracking goal. He's got to go 4-4-2 now, first half was a mess with Couli completely isolated and his control is not good enough to be up there on his own. Boyd made a big difference, much better than the Morton game. Midfield better than league cup but defensively a shambles, Addison and Boyle look terrified anytime the ball goes near them. I know plenty won't agree but I'd bring Balatoni back immediately, he was hung out to dry by Clark for one mistake last season. The rest of the time he was one of our better players (not hard I accept). I reckon OHara was punted for same reason in the Falkirk game, this blame culture is not good for team spirit. Did anyone else think Captain Smith showed no captain qualities whatsoever? When their 2nd went in he simply walks back to his full back position saying nothing, no geeing up the young lads or anything. Still happier than I was at 3pm!
  3. If you want the top I'll bring it with me today but let me know by 2 please cause I won't bring it otherwise, can get you outside before kick off. For clarity it's a freebie as it was heading for the hospice shop!
  4. You can have mine if you like Third, that is if you are ok with large and "McDicken 6" on the back!! (showing my age here, Big D lives)
  5. For me the issue here is the lack of leadership qualities from the captain of our club. Inspirational leaders wouldn't publicly state that they're worried or talk the club down. He should be completely aligned with the manager's plan, saying everyone knows what they're trying to achieve, we've signed talented hungry young players etc. - instead it's all gloom and doom and saying last year there was too much expectation to finish top 6? It's all very well saying he's being realistic but captains also need to use a bit of reverse psychology to coax the best out of their teammates and I see none of that in this interview. Even if he thought every signing was a dud the captain should be talking them up IMHO.
  6. Totally agree Gaz. Language such as "worry", "have to" not exactly inspirational captain-speak.
  7. Brilliant summary piffer. I'm feeling upbeat about Saturday now (big mistake), quite an achievement after the last 2 home games - let's get right behind Lee's boys!!
  8. Just feels like deja vu after last summer. Waddington's "contribution" was just jaw dropping - I can't remember a more inept performance by anyone in a Killie jersey in 45 years and that's saying something. And his pal Smith wasn't much better. Is it too much to ask a professional footballer to be able to kick a dead ball airborne? Splaine and O'Hara are Iniesta and Javi compared to that pair. Jones at least looks a player, but I really expected the transfer activity to bring in decent players who were just needing an opportunity. Now we know why most of them are lower English league rejects. I know it's a bit early to draw conclusions but it's not too much to expect to see them displaying some talent individually before the team gels.
  9. Alternatively you could advise the majority shareholder that the shares are worthless, will cause endless grief and suggest that you take them off his hands for £1......
  10. I certainly thought Splaine should get a chance, looked great every time he played. Can only imagine he's either injury prone or got an attitude/fitness problem, we don't know what goes on at training. The team is miles fitter than when Clark took over so the regime maybe won't suit everyone. But to me he looked a real prospect to give us legs in midfield. Really disappointed.
  11. Totally agree about the cup final, we were lucky that late goal was chalked off and their fans were fantastic towards us. Can't see it on Sunday if we get beat though, either our end will be empty or we'll be demonstrating against MJ! It seems to be less acceptable now to appreciate other teams eg when Kaiserslautern gave us a footballing lesson at Rugby Park and got a good ovation. I applauded Robbie's goal against us in the 2-5 game and nearly got lynched!
  12. Well said that man. And I would have certainly taken that after the 5-1 Tannadice fiasco. Having calmed down now I was encouraged last night. We were better than them all over the pitch. Falkirk made Hamilton look like Barcelona. And despite everyone around me expressing their horror at the Ashcroft selection before the game the tactic worked pretty well so fair play to Clark. They just caught us offguard not launching the ball in for the first time, ok a couple of our players switched off but it was really bad luck - they can not be that jammy three games on the trot. Just one request for Sunday.- can we drop the MJ chants until after the game, don't know how everyone else feels but I'm totally fed up with this causing yet another distraction when we need to get right behind the lads on the park. Let's focus on that shambles of a board afterwards please!
  13. Thanks for the replies guys. I'll certainly be at New Douglas on Saturday cheering them on but this season has been an absolute dirge. Some of the best matches I've seen were when we were part time, especially the 79/80 season. Different era I know. Appreciate it will be better financially to stay up, and maybe good for some folk's vanity to support an SPL team, but wouldn't do any harm producing a decent football match occasionally. Without entertainment on the pitch I can't see too many folk wanting to sit freezing in the snow at Rugby Park like we did against Caley. So come on boys, let's use the next 4 games to get the team in shape for those playoffs and kick on next season with Clarky!!
  14. Cracking list sir, well done. I would like to get to the bottom of why this character was given the shares in the first place. If he was Moffat's solicitor and therefore advising him then that has conflict of interest written all over it and he should have been nowhere near those shares. Does anyone know, was he acting for Moffatt at the time?
  15. I know this has probably been debated elsewhere so apols in advance but is relegation really the apocalypse? Bear in mind our home crowds probably haven't been this bad since the 1976 Spring Cup... This Board is so incompetent it has even managed to preside over a £725k loss when in the Premier League so whatever their business model is it must be completely broke anyway. And let's face it we're all pretty fed up with the standard we have had to endure on the park. Surely this is an opportunity to regroup, give some of the promising youngsters the opportunity to get a game every week and play attacking football like we used to see (or "the Killie way", whatever that's supposed to be). If the worst happened we could be part of a real good competitive league next season incl. Dundee Utd, Dunfermline, St Mirren, QOS, Morton, maybe Ayr and 2 of Raith, Falkirk and Hibs. If these teams can survive relegation why do we have to go bust? It would get a bit of a buzz back and the home crowds up. Surely we want to see some decent games and a few goals and that just ain't happening (well not goals for anyway). Thoughts?
  16. Not forgetting the nepotism in the hotel before it was given away. This lot in charge are completely incompetent, these figures are embarrassing. They've managed to chase away a significant proportion of the fan base with a series of PR disasters which began when MJ decided Kenny Shiels was getting too lippy. In any other business a board presiding over this mess would be tossed out by the shareholders - not an option for us given the inexplicable decision of Moffat to gift his shareholding to his solicitor. And remember these figures were before Locke brought in all that mediocrity and backroom staff in the summer so if you think last year's loss is bad just wait for the next one. Absolutely no idea where we go from here. It's all very well us moaning at Sevco spending money they didn't have but we've done the same. And not exactly had Brian Laudrup or Gazza to watch in the process. Totally p***ed off.
