  1. Sponsor-free, like Hearts’ white shirt is this season and our 150th should have been, and very Airdrie-like.
  2. Not in that kit. We were promoted and narrowly missed out on qualifying for the first Premier League. We had a fantastic group of young players - Stewart, McLean, Robertson, Iain McCulloch, Clarke, McDicken, Provan, Fleming, Fallis and Smith - and older heads in Maxwell, Rodman, Morrison and Sheed. They always tried to play attacking football. The years to forget were in the 1980s when we wore hoops.
  3. Except that the league rules state that the home club is prohibited from charging higher prices for the away end than for “broadly comparable accommodation” for home supporters at the match.
  4. The draw for the first Qualifying Round isn’t until 18 June for ties on 11 and 18 July. I’ve got no idea when we would enter the competition but after the First Round, I presume, based on DM’s comments about pre-season training. Renewals went on sale last year on 31 May, with new purchasers able to buy from2 June.
  5. I think they’re still favourites, but they could have been out of sight.
  6. I think, rather than full houses, @Nutzkillie meant the grounds with the biggest away sections. Killie with 4,000 would be one of them, but I can't see us increasing the allocation, other than possibly the FB wing stand. But that would be at our discretion and not the SPFL's.
  7. You’re right, of course. Watching too many games and getting confused.
  8. Watched Arsenal - Bayern and Atletico v. Dortmund for the most part. Lots of goals and good play, some poor defending and great goalkeeping - great entertainment. Atleti must must be kicking themselves that they had Dortmund on toast and only came away with a draw. The tie looked over at 2-0 as Dortmund's defending was so bad. They regrouped in the interval while Atleti decided to sit on their lead. Bayern will beat Arsenal at home, I think, because their attackers are better than Arsenal's defence.
  9. I was thinking they would have to reimburse the fans for their season ticket matches and travel. It’s been raining everywhere in the country and matches have gone on. This is their fifth postponement of the season and there could have been more. The pre-split season has had to be extended to accommodate them, with the knock-on effect on fixture planning. Every other club would be as incensed as Rangers.
  10. Dundee should have to play all their post-split fixtures away from home. That would hurt them more than a fine. Unfortunately, sporting integrity would dictate that it would skew the already skewed fixture count.

    The Captain

A lot of his moves were loans - six in total. Four more of his clubs were non-league where it’s not uncommon for players to move around, often after just a few months. This interview while he was at Cheltenham is a good account of his career moves: https://www.ctfc.com/news/2021/december/vassell-on-life-from-non-league-to-on-the-international-stage/
  12. Even McInnes is conceding that Hearts will finish third, and they will.
  13. This is Rosario Central’s current third strip. The club was founded by a Scot, Colin Calder, in 1889.
  14. One on the left looks like Frank Beattie’s widow, Betty.
  15. The rules are changing regularly and are increasingly complicated. I think players can now change their chosen association if they have played up to three competitive matches for another association, the last of which was before they reached the age of 21.
  16. The format and the talking heads are repetitive but, for me, it doesn't spoil the content.
  17. This is what I don’t get. Managing Ajax is about developing young players through their youth system and complementing them with signings of comparatively modest value. Why would United appoint such a manager when time and patience aren’t a feature of the job? I think he has spent money unwisely but perhaps felt obliged to because of the pressure to succeed. Hojland is a signing I can understand, if not at the fee involved. Some of the others make less sense.
  18. Ten Hag should be good at managing young players, if he’s given the time. Ajax fans are keen to take him back after their poor form this season, culminating in their 0-6 hammering by Feyenoord yesterday.
  19. The Sky documentaries profiling film directors and actors are really interesting. Scheduled on week day afternoons, interesting snd knowledgable “experts” give a good overview of the subject’s career with brief clips. Even if you think you know the subject well, it’s interesting to see some of their lesser-known early work and to see, in less than an hour, how their work developed. They are shown on Sky Documentsries snd Sky Arts.
  20. Is it that important to you? Are you McKenzie’s accountant?!
