  1. If it makes you feel better and so that you don’t think I’m just picking on one player; Matic, Maguire, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Bailly Pogba, Mata, James, Van de Beek, are all either s**t, past it or vastly overrated. I can’t think of a single Utd player good enough to play for City or Liverpool.
  2. How could I forget Matic, the midfielders midfielder from a bygone age?
  3. They’re certainly more successful than the current crop of Reds. However if you’re happy toddling along “winning” a European place, with Fred & Co, who am I to piss on your chips, peas and gravy?
  4. It’s all about perspective. From where I’m sitting, it looks like you’re unable to put together a salient argument which refutes my points. As such, you’re reduced to appealing for support with frivolous replies like this. You’ll resort to insults next as you begin to feel more and more impotent at being unable ‘to win the internet’.
  5. Liverpool have Spurs, West Ham, City, Leicester and Everton in their next seven. Definitely without their best player. City can afford to drop a few points, can Liverpool? I’d suggest if you don’t beat City you’re already out of the title race. And nobody is going to win the league with a midfield of Fred, Pogba and McTominay.
  6. The challenge is the same for every top manager at all the biggest clubs. City, their fans and directors will be perfectly satisfied with regaining their league title. And they’ll all be purring at the style they’re doing it in. As will any neutral football fan.
  7. Without checking id suggest they all won trophies at City, how many of the United players can say the same? He runs around a bit. Is that really worth £52 million. For what it’s worth I think you could’ve got Mo Farah for less. United bring in players to win the league and champions league. None of them have done that so they’re all flops.
  8. @Guff92, I have nothing to lose as I don’t support any of the English sides. I’m only watching these games as I’m running out of things to watch on Netflix with this lockdown and teaching myself the bass isn’t going as well as I’d hoped. I actually think my fingers may be musically dyslexic. Is that even a thing? Anyway, I’ve never been a “sing when you’re winning...” type of guy. Just give your opinion and change it as new facts emerge. Fact is City are on a different level from their rivals at the moment.
  9. The offside rule has been a mess for years. I remember being outraged at Brazil using changes to the interpretation over ‘coming back from an offside position’ to unsettle defences, at the 1994 World Cup. Think it may even have been a factor in a goal against the Netherlands.
  10. You get 3 points no matter who you beat, that’s why they sit proudly at the top of the table, despite giving the others a head start. Any idea how come these other top six teams have less points, if being able to beat another top six side is the measure of ability/quality? It’s unrealistic to think a team in the English Premiership can win every game or that Man Utd can challenge for the league. Always.
  11. I totally agree, unless people are trying to pretend a player, who is clearly very limited, isn’t. Then his price tag does become important as a point of ridicule. Nice of you to concede your rivals have shopped smartly to acquire their key assets. They have done well, haven’t they?
  12. Yeh, enough people have mentioned Harry Maguire and Paul Pogba. But if you want to discuss Van De Beek, Telles, Traore, James, Wan-Bissaka, Matic, Lukaku (tbf he’s doing well for himself now) and Lindelof, we can. But I agree with your assessment- more than £300 million of s**t.
  13. City only paid £3 million more for Kevin De Bruyne. Gundogan cost £20 million. Bernardo Silva, £43 million. Sterling, £44 million. Man Utd were robbed.
  14. That the gap at the top of the table is only going to get wider as Pep is tactically superior to every other manager in the league. He gave you all a head start and reeled you all in. He hardly bothers using strikers as it’s just so easy for him. If you can’t enjoy the way City play, you’ve no soul.
  15. For context City scored more against West Brom tonight than Man Utd and Liverpool have managed against them between them. #MissingDeBruyne.
  16. If you’d added Ronaldinho, me and you would be going outside for words. I think he could make anyone fall in love with football. You just can’t help being swept along by his obvious joy at being allowed to play. It’s infectious. Put jumpers down for goal posts and I reckon he’d be there for a game. However, Messi is the best the world has ever seen. He has the desire to keep achieving which sets him apart from the other two ex-Barca men. It’s not until you see him in the flesh, that you appreciate what a clever and talented player he is. And while you can’t argue with CR7’s stats, as a player he leaves me cold. I even rate the original Ronaldo above him.
  17. If you have access to BT Sports or a dodgy stream, tune in for the second half of the Man City game. The first half has been a master class in total football. Forget everything you think you know about tactics, positioning and formations, Pep has not only ripped up the book, he’s set fire to the pieces and scattered the ashes at sea.
  18. Genuinely surprised we’ve signed someone. Welcome and good luck Mr Oakley.
  19. I reckon there was more to Woodgate’s omission by Real than meets the eye. Too many incidents involving drugs seemed to be linked with him in some way. Then there was his assaulting an Asian student with Lee Bowyer. Seems a bit of a scumbag imo and those are only the things that made the news. Back then it was much easier to sweep things under the carpet. No camera phones in everyone’s pockets.
  20. Nah I’m not having Rivaldo on that list. Being the scorer of the greatest ever hat-trick (v Valencia) would be enough to get him off it imo. But Barcelona’s 8th all time goal scorer and 7th for Brazil. A World Cup winner. A champions league winner. A Copa America winner. Winning the UEFA Supercup with two different teams. Ten league titles (some more prestigious than others tbf). A handful of cups here and there. And winner of the most creative dive of all time. The man was a bandy- legged, baldy genius
  21. Possibly his EBT bill arriving from HMRC put him under too much stress. Kaka is another one who went to Madrid for big money and then seemed to underachieve.
  22. Apparently Prodan died aged 44 from a heart attack.
  23. If exorbitant wages, for little to no return are a factor, can Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez be added to the pile of shame? Anyone remember the name of the defender rangers signed in the 1990’s, who arrived injured and hardly kicked a ball after that?
  24. Maybe “Recall, Recall, Recall” can become the new “you can’t use the pound”. It won’t matter how many times you present the facts, it will remain a unionist trope.
  25. One things for sure, Klopp isn’t doing Rhys Williams any favours by dithering over bringing someone in. The boy looks a bundle of nerves.
