Plus like most footballers he hasn't been training, and its unlikely Maidstone will have given him the kind of support and guidance we will.have given our players. So he may not be at the level we would like but he shows promise and is cheap so we take a look. That level is such a mix. I was watching a game the other day, a lot of good young players who obviously hadn't quite worked out after academy level and had dropped down the divisions trying to rebuild their career. However, the guy who scored the winner, Matt Rhead was literally about 17 stone. Seriously, Google the guy, he made Kris Boyd look frail. There will be young, strong, fit players who are just some good full time coaching away from being able to play at a better level (whether or not it's this level is another story) and hopefully Whitehall and Hooper are in that category. Not everyone progresses by the time they're 22 and just because you've dropped to that level doesn't mean at 25 you haven't added to your game. On the other hand there are some guys in that league who look like Sunday league lads who have enough ability to get by, I can see why you'd go short term in case you've accidentally signed the latter.
skygod
Rhead played in the same Lincoln team as Power. No athlete but he can still find the net.

Not a patch on York City’s Sweeper Steve McNulty. Google him! Edited July 26, 2020 by KenVaagen1984

Popular Post Scouser2
Seems original contract still has a week or so to run ###### DANNY WHITEHALL is hoping that his goal against Motherwell in midweek will be enough to earn a new contract at Kilmarnock, and give his fiancee a chance to play volleyball on Troon beach again. The forward and his American partner are fond of Ayrshire, but with his contract up this month, they are keen to stay a while longer after settling both on and off the football pitch. "I think [the goal] come at a good time with my contract up," Whitehall said. "Maybe that was part of the gaffer’s thinking for playing me - to see if I was worth it or not. But it’s less about me and more about the team after that performance. Three points was what we needed. "There’s nothing really concrete yet. I think it’s up on January 10 or something like that. I’d be keen to get it sorted. It’s up to the gaffer and people on the board. "But I am very happy here, my fiancée (Jillianne Bax) has moved from America to live with me over here. We like it in Kilmarnock and if we stay, we stay. If we go somewhere else so be it. She’s from Nebraska, I met her when I was out there on my scholarship. She was on the volleyball team. "She’s found a volleyball team here and played a bit on Troon beach for them. She was one of the better players. But unfortunately, because of all the Covid stuff going on, there was no indoor season for her so that’s not been happening. "To be fair, that’s not been easy for her. So I’ve got a long term debt to her for this. "I’ve said that if I wasn’t playing football I’d be back over in America with her. So once we’re done here, I think we will travel back and live over there when we’re older. "But for the moment we’d like to stay here, she quite likes it too and if we can stay longer then so be it." Whitehall hopes to show his worth again when Killie take on St Mirren at Rugby Park today, with the aim of winning a contract extension and then a regular place in the side.

Got my doubts about him, scored a decent goal but his all round play is poor. RayD
Again, being a Killie player, I really, really want him to do well... buuut... he makes Kris Boyd look mobile Spends too much of the game being a spectator to be effective in Scotland.
funky monkey
Cracking strikers goal, but other than that he was relatively ineffective. I'm not sure that the English non-leagues are a good place to find players for our level. All about budgets I suppose. skygod
Did alright in the first half. I'm not sure if he touched the ball in their half in the second. Raw like sushi, as someone said. Needs a lot of coaching but would he get it at RP?
piffer
Given the same amount of match time I think he’d outscore Kabamba. Not sure he’s got all the attributes we really want in a striker. It’s hard to tell what kind of player he actually is so far. His hold up and link play has been ok and he’s got two league goals in two starts which isn’t to be sniffed at. If possible I’d be out looking for a starting striker. Whether he’s still got it or not I’m not sure but Stewart fits the role for me still. Can play upfront himself or in a two, can play off the front or either wing, scores and creates, has a ruthless streak I’m not sure our other strikers do.
GCM
If we sign a striker he has to have some pace and be much more mobile, Whitehall and Kabamba are so static it's untrue.

Mcd
I am still not convinced by Whitehall, surely we must be able to find a striker with a bit of pace!
Nutz1869
Whitehall is a poacher. Hold-up play and close control is terrible. He could maybe work in a two? But when he's up by himself, he just invites the counter-attack by losing the ball so quickly. Brophy and Kabamba a class above. Seems to be an unpopular opinion though. -
