Passed on some info regarding a potential signing, no personal details apart from his name was given out. Exactly. No different to someone posting my pal just saw(insert name of player) with a suitcase booking in to the Park Hotel.

Another guest sees player in reception and recognises him it isn't a problem. Receptionist gives info and name it is a breach of confidentiality. -
CBFC
Interesting take on GDPR. If I send confidential information by post to a client and it is wrongly delivered, it is my fault not the Post office believe it or not!
CBFC
Anyway, who would come up to Scotland to train with a club with potential to sign and not bring your boots?
casual observer
Somewhere amongst all this guff a player from England appears to be up here on trial. What’s his career been like to date? I couldn’t care less what size, colour or make of boots he wears.

A lot of movie plots depend on someone using cunning of one sort or another to find out if someone is staying in a hotel, the number of their room and whether they are in the room! Mind you, most of these films were made long before the Data Protection Act!

CBFC
Just now, red_dug said: Maybe didnt realise we play on a carpet and brought the wrong boots? You could be correct. But players normally have 3 or 4 pairs of boots for different surfaces. Boots for training are generally ok for our surface. However, should have brought them all.

Maybe bought himself a new pair to celebrate signing for Ayrshire's finest!

skygod
Do we know if he is actually on trial? All we have is the report of boots being delivered which, judging by the spelling of the name, probably belong to Joe Piggott of Wigan! When Pigott joined Wimbledon from Maidstone (rare artificial pitch, btw) 18 months ago, the length of contract wasn't announced and I can't see any record of it so we don't even know that he's a free agent. I think Wimbledon have announced he's under contract for the upcoming season. The boy from Wigan played for Dundee United, Wigan are having financial issues. I'd agree with you that if it's any of them it's probably the boy from Wigan.
KillkieBoab
Could the boots even have been meant for Pinnock with the name and address written by his doctor.
