Killie Histories - Series 3 coming in September

Recommended Posts

We are delighted to say that the guests for the second series of Killie Histories are Ronnie Hamilton and Tommy McLean!

Two players who contributed so significantly to our most famous season, Ronnie's 15 goals played a crucial part, as did Tommy's final day assist for Davie Sneddon.

As with Series 1, the players talk about one specific match before reflecting on their Kilmarnock career more generally. Tommy and Ronnie discuss some of the biggest matches in Kilmarnock's 150-year history and the affection they have for the Club is still strong.

We will share details of the episodes online later next week. Follow the podcast's Twitter page @KillieHistories for updates.

You can listen to the past series on a wide range of sites, including Podbean, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Pocket Casts and Spreaker. Just search for 'Killie Histories'. And please do share and leave a review/rating as it really helps to get the interviews to as wide an audience as possible.

The Killie Trust is proud to be working with the Former Players Association, and the podcast is only the beginning...so watch this space!

Any luck in sourcing Paul Clarke's Sportscene titles?

We had lots of offers of help from various people but alas noone could find it.

BBC Scotland didn't start archiving full editions of Sportscene until much later. I understand that goals for the matches covered from this era are kept on compilation reels. Scotsport is the same.

ITV's The Big Match, as far as British televised football is concerned, is the one exception which exists almost complete in the archives

The only hope would be that someone video recorded and kept the match itself or an edition from the following season. However given that the match itself was a 0-0 draw and it was just before video recorders became affordable to the average punter this is extremely unlikely unfortunately.

We are delighted to be working with the Kilmarnock Football Club Former Players Association to bring tales of classic matches direct to fans.

The podcast is free to all...and not for profit. There are costs involved in production though - tools like Adobe Audition, Canva, Podbean and Wavve. If you are in a position to support the podcast, that would be fantastic!

You can contribute here: https://ko-fi.com/killiehistories

Next month, there will be a third series, and we have plans to develop and expand, if we can.
