Waters seems very reluctant to make these runs though. He's played a handful of games man. I'd test that out against Hamilton and hold a defnsive position vs celtic. Did well today i thought, Taylor looked silky too though..
kfc_superteam
Good point and well worth it. Think the advantage of the heat, sticky pitch and Celtic being a bit rusty helped us as they were rotten. That said we were fantastic! Well done AD!
andy123
Very Good result. We looked the better team for the majority i thought. Well done AD and team

Not sure why they would be anymore rusty than we were and they have played a lot higher standard of matches during pre-season Alex Dyer's tactics were spot on and Lennon didn't have any answer...if it wasn't for a bit of dodgy goal keeping we would have got the three points as they didn't show anything going forward

Dillinger
Great performance, reminded me of the 1-2 loss where Brown scored the winner when he should have been off the park. Tremendous that night too, similar performance. When we stick to our game plan like that, Celtic have no answer. Pot shots from long range and a free kick that our goalie should have stopped. Apparently Edouard was on the park? Liking the new kit. Kabamba's shorts pockets are big enough to fit Julian in. Big fella was class up top today. Pen was a clear booking, no idea why no card shown.

Sums up how underrated Rory is. His lovely pass plays Kabamba in to the box to win the pen and our only goal of the game and he still gets singled out.

One pass doesn't make him a hero, he also conceded possession too easily a couple of times. We weren’t noticeably worse without him in the second half. -
maxyboy
Gary dicker strolled that today, for all those that say he’s finished or no good enough, guys different school calm under pressure and can use the ball to get us out and on the front foot

Underrated. But it’s the unit. Power, Burke and he are as good a unit as I remember in a killie midfield. -

Close control and a cool head under pressure it’s great to watch, they have their limitations of course but wouldn’t want to play against them

Like when u see Power get caught for a free kick and he just gets up shrugs it off and gets on with it, unlike some others.....Frimpongo!

It’s odd that McKenzie has played over 200 games for us, under god knows how many managers and is obviously trusted to do a job, yet it’s apparently ok to slate him as the weak link every week, but you can’t say the new guy didn’t make the most of the space he was given. You’d think we were the first team ever to play a player not on his ‘natural’ side. All this talk of “unbalanced” and seeing cutting inside as a flaw is dated horses**t too. With Killie fans, familiarity really does breed contempt.

Malkmus
The state of that mob, Mcgregor apologising to their fans for the performance. Nothing to do with AD, s game plan and tactical nouse on how to nullify the threat they pose superbly implemented by the team, no.
Scouser2
That level of performance by our team also set a benchmark for others in the squad to reach , Nearly all of that starting line had experience of playing together and in similar games.......Haunstrup came on and looked composed , now up to our (other) new summer recruits If / when given a chance to show that same performance level of that starting 11 , good to have relative competition for places and in terms of outfield signings a starting place has to be earned . and kept You would hope that in training these new players are eager to impress and ready if given that chance

Still a slight worry where goals will come from but that was a really impressive, disciplined performance. Keeper faux pas aside he was fine but it'll be the easiest 90 mins he'll ever have against the OF. Celtic were awful If you don't impose your game on the opposition they will impose their game on you. Simples !

Once with a header he won, which he then had to go and try to win the 2nd header, and twice on the floor he burst back. Nobody will argue rory McKenzie is the most technically gifted, but he is a talented footballer that is certainly good enough for kilmarnock.
