historyman
Has really grabbed his opportunity. He’s the man with the jersey and he deserves it. Has barely put a foot wrong and has put some in excellent balls. The surprise package for me so far this season. Maybe a great example of what competition for places can do. I guess however he played last year SOD would have gone straight back in. Edited August 9, 2020 by historyman
Allymitchell91
Cant drop him now til he has a couple oh bad games, shirt earned on merit! Happy to admit I got it wrong about him today
robkil
He's certainly proved me wrong. I'll be honest, I was really worried when he started last week but he's been absolutely quality the last 2 weeks. McGowan certainly has a fight on his hands to get in the team.
Beaker71
Absolutely the star find of the season so far. We knew about Burke, and can see kabambas attributes, but Millen has been waaaay better than any of us could ever expect

His old man may have been a toral bellend when he left us, but he was a stonking good defender.

Forgetting his attitude and how it ended, he was a cracking player for us. I know a few boys who played against him when he was in his late 30's and they said he was still really fit and hard as nails.

They complimented each other superbly, and both raised their games aside each other.
Crocket
Nothing against Millen but is he looking better because SOD was so bang average at best last season? I've been looking for better than SOD for at least a season and a half -

Still it would not be Killie otherwise.

I was just highlighting how poor SOD had been for a while and was getting away with it after THAT season that he had.

Been great the last 2 games and it’s nice to get recognition from neutral fans. Do you have Killie pals? Asking for a friend. Bbk
Fair play to Ross millen for grabbing his chance and if he continues to perform as he has in the first two games he will be hard to leave out !

Ngonge88
Interview in the record with Ross. The lads attitude is outstanding. Eat sleep football. Becoming a credit to our club and although not young, could become a fantastic footballer for us.
WWWWnnnnnn!
I think hes learnt from SOD, plays more like him, more confident moving forward. C4mmy31
Ross Millen is more shocked than anyone that he has started this season as Kilmarnock's right-back. He admits that he was unsure if he would get game time, but reckons his hard work in pre-season has paid off. He has done more than enough to deserve keeping the jersey after impressive performances against Hibs and Celtic. But with Aaron McGowan lying in wait, Millen knows his standard can't drop for a second. He said: “I’m a wee bit shocked to have played two full 90 minutes but I’ve worked hard in pre-season and got my head down and worked away. “When Stephen O’Donnell left I thought I’d have an opportunity and the gaffer said it was up to me to make that right back spot my own. I learned a lot from him and I’m lucky to have experience like Chris Burke in front of me, Kirk Broadfoot beside me and Alan Power and Gary Dicker as well. “It’s great, I’ve played two games, and Sunday was the biggest test and it was just a shame there were no fans there. I’d never played against Celtic before so it was a great experience and I felt good." Millen admits that the lockdown restrictions haven't made too much of a difference to him. Celtic defender Boli Bolingoli is in the firing-line after making a secret trip to Spain before playing against Killie, and Millen admits that should never have happened. He said: “If you live your life right in normal circumstances then you won’t have a problem. I go home, eat, sleep and get back up and play football so I’m not interested in going out anyway so the restrictions don’t make a difference to me. “If you’re trying to make a career in football then that’s the way you should live your life but that’s just my opinion and I understand you have to enjoy yourself - but at the right times. “My first thought when I read the story was that I hope the league doesn’t get paused and also that the player himself doesn’t have coronavirus and it’s great news that he’s negative. “I wouldn’t mind if we were awarded three points on top of the one we got but that’s not going to happen! Seriously, the game is in the past and we got a draw and we move on."
