Trumpetree
Supposedly the goalie Jak Alnwick, who will miss the next three games. Shares a house with Lee Hodson (now @ Hamilton) who must now self-isolate for the next 14 days
Kfcinlancashire
I don't understand why St Mirren and Hamilton are not allowed to postpone their fixtures. Aberdeen and Celtic were allowed to do this. Usual SFA one rule for the big teams , stuff the rest.

Aberdeen and Celtic had their matches postponed - they didn’t choose to do it. Don’t you remember the FM’s briefing when she effectively told the SPFL/SFA to postpone those matches? Celtic would not have voluntarily postponed their match(es) just because Bolingoli was suspended. Usual paranoia. -
Ipkis
The St. Mirren game should surely be called off this weekend though. Even in Belarus they postpone fixtures when there's a COVID outbreak within a squad of players.
casual observer
If they postpone games every time a player is unavailable due to positive tests they’d be as well scrapping the season now. There’s no free dates to pick up the backlog postponements cause. I thought the govt & SPFL were too zealous in stepping in to reschedule the sheep & tic games when they did. Squads are big enough to cope - especially for self inflicted unavailability of players.

Totally agree, it was reported last week that UEFA would consider it a concede unless a country could prove they could not make available 13 players ,including two goalkeepers. Aberdeen should have been made to play without the 8 players and Celtic should have played without Bolingoli and any of their players or staff who had been in close contact with him for more than 15 minutes without a mask. I just don't understand why given the extended measures now in place that St. Mirren are playing this week especially now they are reported to have two positive tests.
chubbs
Thought the Aberdeen game was postponed because the city went back into lockdown ... not because the players went on the piss. -

It was postponed as a punishment for the players behaviour a wrist slap, as was Celtic’s games.

If that was the punishment, then why were St Mirren and Hamilton punished (opposition for the postponed games)?

It was a pause for these clubs Aberdeen and Celtic rather than a punishment to be honest, a delay to get their houses in order and players in line. St Mirren and Hamilton were unfortunate.

Squads are big enough to cope - especially for self inflicted unavailability of players. My point was that there is an outbreak involving more than one player, suggesting transmission within the squad. This might mean other players who have since tested negative may actually be positive. If it was an isolated case I would be agreeing with you.
C4mmy31
Football authorities confirm St Mirren v Hibs goes ahead but also reveal St Mirren will be without all three goalkeepers. First and second choice tested positive. Third being retested under Test and Protect protocols. (BBC) Looks like they've set a precedence of no call offs (unless your Aberdeen or Celtic obviously).... Sam
Ridiculous decision not to postpone this match. A goalkeeper is a specialised position and for a team to have all 3 keepers unavailable less than 24 hours before a game, is surely grounds for postponement. trenwick
shocking usual spfl pish, bet if sevco or celtic had three goalies out games would be off, st mirren should just not turn up & lose game by default 3-0

Given keepers will train together in a specialist unit with specific coaching one contracting the virus, say from their kids at school or their wife out at work, will mean that whole unit need to isolate. There's no way they would make Sevco or Celtic play in those circumstances. Nor Aberdeen for that matter. Common sense to postpone the game and if there's further spread to Hibs after the game as it's perfectly possible others have it in the incubation period you can guarantee that will be the season over. Madness from the SPFL.

Madness from the SPFL. With way it’s currently accelerating infection wise, is only gonna be more players week on week who fail the tests, or have to isolate cos of family members/flatmates contracting covid. With the R number now well above 1, how much longer can they play football safely? Still need stewards, support staff, who aren’t in the football covid testing regime, to play the games. If Covid is ripping through them and society at large, how can they Possibly ‘safely’ play games - except maybe at training grounds?
