Saints match, Fred

New signings virtually to a man not getting significant game time just doesn’t smell right.

Were the signings Fowler’s and over the head of AD? Surely not but there is something not right here. If they aren’t doing it in training that in itself says something.

AD needs to be asked for an explanation. It can’t be that the present incumbents have been consistently undropable or unsubable.

I don't get why he has reverted to the setup that failed miserably at the start of the season, after a decent run of results.

Cause he was forced into the changes that resulted in our upturn in results, now we have a full squad we have reverted to this pish as that's his preference.

1 nil down with 20 mins to play and he still leaves mulumbu on the bench. Think it says it all. Time for change. Apart from the last 15 mins of the Rangers game we have been totally boring to watch we don’t even look like scoring. The Hibs game was a prime example we could have played all day and not scored.

If Burke had decent players behind him that comment would make sense

Spot on... last season we had fullbacks that went beyond our wide men.. The way we play since Clark joined, is to keep it narrow and have fullbacks that push up. Folks will shout me down but I'd drop both fullbacks and see if we can get more going forward.  It takes ages to get the ball forward on the ground.. we are so static and slow at full back we end up passing it back to KB and SF to hoof up as they are closed down quickly by teams that know we are negative up the wings. Punting the ball to Burke with his back goal 40 yards out gets us no were except back the fullback and the to CB to hoof up.

Try new fullbacks in cup games and 2 upfront and see what we create

The 433 with Kiltie and Burke looked more promising at first but now we seem to be back to the same old turgid crap

A turgid bottom 6 team at this rate. Really poor stuff the past few weeks. Bet the manager says we will need to work hard blah blah blah pish pish blah.

Once again a s l o o o  o w start and apart from (very) brief moments of hope, it went downhill from there.

St Johnstone's workrate and movement was way above ours, and tactically they got it spot on.
Which is not too difficult to do because we play the same way, with the same players, every week.

We badly miss the presence of competent full backs supporting Burke and Kiltie, which in turn ensures Burke and Kiltie are involved less, and so we create nothing. The number of times Millen and Waters stopped and passed backwards tonight had me roaring at the screen in frustration.

I felt that half time would see something change... personnel, tactics, effort... something.
Nope.
Why did we wait so long to make subs? Giving Whitehall a minute to change things was just the cherry on the cake.

Something has to change.

We seem to have plan A and then....bring pinnock and brophy on after 75minutes which is a pretty s**t plan B

Kabamba miles off it tonight,  Brophy is our best forward at the moment needs to be involved more, Mulumbu the only football player in the midfield 3 that looks like he might create.

Really poor tonight, exactly like the first few games of the season, try and keep a clean sheet and first and foremost then see if we can sneak anything. Probably be enough to stay up this season but im not sure its what majority of us are looking for

Predictable post-match interview about working hard in training.

You get nothing for what you do in training - however hard they are working in training the results aren’t coming on the pitch in matches.

He doesn’t seem to have a clue how to change the pattern, other than to keep fielding the same team playing the same tactics.

He has a decent size squad with some good players but he’s not getting enough out of them.

If the fringe players impress in the cup matches they must come in. No favouritism or automatic choices, whoever that are.

Show some imagination and earn your money.
