Popular Post C4mmy31
Jason Naismith believes it is an exciting time to join Kilmarnock after becoming the latest player to join Tommy Wright’s Rugby Park rebuild, subject to Scottish FA approval. The full back has signed a one-year deal with Killie as we aim for an immediate return to the Scottish Premiership. Having started his career with St Mirren, the 26-year-old has top flight experience with both Ross County and Hibernian in between a spell in England with Peterborough United. He said: “I’m raring to go. My mind was made up as soon as I spoke to the manager and I wanted to be part of what he is building and I’m looking forward to my time here. “You are always learning as a player and I’m excited to work with the manager. I’m still young in football terms and there’s obviously so much potential at this club. “I can’t wait for the season to get underway.” Tommy Wright added: “I’ve known Jason since I’ve been in Scotland and he’s an excellent player. “As soon as we spoke to him and his agent, there were no qualms about having to step down a league and I think that’s really important. He’ll bring experience and a lot of quality. “I’m trying to build a squad with competition all over the pitch because 11 players alone won’t get us back to where we want to be. We’re going to need competition and defensively with the seven players that we have then I think that is pretty strong.” Edited June 17, 2021 by C4mmy31
James K Polk
Good signing, had hoped for a bit more than a 1 year deal though

Maybe have pushed the boat out slightly on wages and wouldn't be able to afford paying Prem wages for two seasons in the Championship. Edit to add that this is a great signing. Fletch
That's a good signing. You wonder where that leaves McGowan?

Good signing, and I'm glad we seem to be doing a proper rebuild than just patching things together.

I wonder if we are going to play 3 at the back with 2 wing backs. Naismith could be right hand side of a 3, Murray Central and Stokes left. IIRC this is a system Wright used at St Johnstone. That then leaves Haunstrup and Magowan or Waters to get further up the park.

Cill Mheàrnaig
Best signing of the summer so far. Closest RB we're gonna get to SOD at our level - strong, defensively good, and has a threat going forward. Light years ahead of Ross Millen.

ekblue
Superb signing. It looks as if TW knows what he is after in building a team. I have no doubts that he will sort out the keeper position being his specialist subject. And the one or two good strikers and I'll be happy.
Steppskillie
This is the type of signing we are looking for. Top one so far.

Can see us playing 3/5 across the back with wing backs as I recall that was a system Wright used at St Johnstone. Naismith would suit this system. The guys in the 3 need to be decent on the ball as if they are up against a single striker they will have to be able to step into midfield to stop the 2 midfielders being outnumbered.
