Location may be a factor but whilst people are rolling into Frankie and Benny'a for burgers around the same price as Titchfields, you've kinda got to think that Kilmarnock isn't the location for a restaurant offering locally sourced, high quality cuts of meat.

If Titchfield street got one of the chain World Buffet restaurants, it would stand a better chance of survival- it's what the people want. The location wouldn't matter- folk would park at Wilko's and walk round.

Shame for the guys that run the place as it seemed decent, but slightly incongruent with what the standard family is looking for.

Can't argue with that . It's a trend . I've been in in France for a month and le fast food is the main thing . Family run bistros and brasseries ? You are having a laugh . The few that exist near Marseilles are tourist traps , you'd be better off in Frankie and Benny's.

there was an inidan restaurant across the road before it became the bar and grill place and they did the whole buffet thing, me and the mrs went a couple of times the folk were fantastic, i took the mrs on her birthday and they done the whole cake thing, gave us a gift voucher for another meal the food was always quality but it was never busy , that ended up shutting down aswell

You Kilmarnock guys must have better luck parking than me. A family meal for us involves at least three cars. At night or on a Sunday it isn't a problem, but on a weekday or a Saturday it is a big problem.

If you're talking about around Titchfield street, you've got loads of options- Tesco or surrounding, the McDonalds car park, the old Somerfield area, Wilko's etc.  Safeway car park is only a 10 min walk.  Drop folk off and then park.

When there's a will.

To be fair it was the ones with children who were late because they didn't want to walk that far with them. I wouldn't park in the old Safeway car park, parked in Tesco's car park for the Crown meeting.

In the Herald and Record reviews of Tichfields both reviewers seemed to like the food but both also commented that the service wasn't that great. What about Franklin & Sloane near the Dick institute, anybody eaten there ?
