BlueKillie
"Russel Smith has resigned as a director of Kilmarnock FC . The latest twist in the Killie saga comes in another week of off-field drama at Rugby Park. Lifelong Kilmarnock fan Smith was one of the original board members following the debt re-contruction deal in March 2014. Along with Billy Bowie, Michael Johnston, David Moran and Jim Mann, he was part of the five-man board formed after the club’s debt was cleared. But now, over two–and–a–half years later, only Bowie and Johnston remain on the board with John Kiltie, who joined in early 2015." http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/kilmarnock-fc-director-russel-smith-9078810
Riverplatekillie
He was the same as the others who left, gutless and joined the board to partake of the prawn sandwich!
Zorro
That should narrow things down on who our next chairman is.

Aye they all paid 100k they could get prawn sandwiches. I would say they were promised more influence than they ever got.
Maverick11
Question is; can we now use his shares to facilitate an EGM?
Killie alan
Does he know something we don't. Hope john kiltie stays on board or we are goosed. Well we are anyway.

Scouser2
had some faint hope after the EGM had stalled and the pay out not worked --- that the other Directors might had another plan on the go that could have ousted MJ but going on this news -- it seems not -- from the outside anyhow Some may say its hindsight but both Moran and Smith espicially ----knew about MJ''s history and must have taken advice beforehand ---so it still is baffling why with their experience they first invested to support MJ and then did not get some legal changes made to the Club's procedures as a condition of them investing Still sad to hear that another investor has failed to change things from the inside and now leaves our club

chubbs
This is the guy who came onto the old forum and asked what the issues were regarding MJ ..... doesnt sound like much of a lifelong Killie fan if he had to ask that! He then said he used the kids inheritance money to buy his place on the board .... that didn't make him sound like a great businessman either. Will he missed? ... doubtful.

If anything I would suggest he has resigned as nothing is happening!! We are making zero progress in removing the parasite and will soon be back to a 2 man board IMO. You can guess who will be putting himself forward for the Chairman again....
historyman
We are not too far away from a two man board again. The new directors were all announced as great appointments who would use their business skills to drive the club forward. Instead nothing has happened, MJ is still on the board, the club continues with its rapid decline and the fans are unable to do anything about it. A very sad state of affairs, the utter selfishness and naked self interest of MJ is going to ruin the club for ever.
skygod
It would be good if he spoke out in the media but I expect he has signed a gagging clause in return for some of his investment back. Prove me wrong!
Mojike and Bod
Highly doubtful he will be getting anything to show for his investment other than a share certificate. To get anything back would mean someone on the board buying his shares. Leaving the board hasn't stopped David Moran from commenting in the press or posting on here.
livvy
I suspect Smith and Moran are of a similar ilk in a way. Both well intentioned. Both wanting to contribute. Both unable to do so from the inside. I can't possibly think why that would be
findis
And then there were 3.People are trying to change things from the inside but it looks like they have failed. It looks like it is up to BB to get rid of MJ, and I must admit that I don't hold out any hope.
Caldow
It would appear that BB has bottled getting rid of MJ because he is a big fearty. I hope I'm wrong. I really hope I'm wrong.
Mojike and Bod
It would appear Bowie may be scared to do anything to cleanse the club of his hotel partner...
Caldow
Someone told me that they'd heard it may have something to do with an apparent incident but there was possibly a confidentiality issue. whof**kingknows?
Onlyonecolinmckee
not sure on this maybe someone can advise As a shareholder Would they not have the right to know about NDA's and why they were necessary? or can a board of directors keep such matters completely private?
