We are delighted to announce the signing of Max Stryjek, who joins from Jagiellonia Białystok after an undisclosed agreement between the sides.

The Polish goalkeeper brings experience and quality to the squad as preparations continue for the new season.

Speaking about his move, Max said:
“It was a bit of work with the clubs but I’m really happy to be joining Kilmarnock and I’m looking forward to working with the boys and the staff.”

Asked what sold him on the move, he added:
“I was in a spot in Poland where I wasn’t really playing. It was a great experience spending a year in a new home but it was a difficult year for me on a personal note. I want to do well, help the team get results and I’m really happy that I’m joining Kilmarnock. I’m looking forward to it.”

On his conversation with manager Stuart Kettlewell, Max said:
“I was actually on holiday when he first called me and I was really impressed by his personality, his ambition and everything. He seemed like a really good person and I really liked his approach and professionalism. That was probably the main factor in deciding to join Kilmarnock.”

Manager Stuart Kettlewell said:
“Max is one that I’ve been aware of for a while, especially with him playing in Scotland before we know his qualities. He adds to the already competitive squad and we are sure that he can be a solid addition to our goalkeepers. We look forward to working with Max with the Premier Sports Cup kicking off next week after our two friendlies beforehand, starting with Rory McKenzie’s testimonial match against Ayr United tonight.”

Undisclosed fee ? Expect for a move across borders it’s minimum 2 year deal.

Another solid signing imo. I’m relatively comfortable with the way the manager is assembling his squad. A couple of CB’s, a RW/RM and a striker, and I think we’re good to go.

I think we need anothet option at left back or left wing back as cover/challenge for Ndaba as well.

Ndaba should be our clear first choice and with his fitness levels I can't see us bringing in someone to challenge. That'll in all likelihood be a Oli Bainbridge/Tom Wilson-Brown esque loan from down south. Other areas we need much more badly.

There's no doubt Ndaba will be first choice. Injuries and suspensions mean you need someone else who is capable of playing there. Even if it is someone who is also capable of playing in the middle to add depth in two places.

Ideally I’d agree, but I’m also wary of spreading our financial resources too thin, and then suffering from recruiting poorer quality. I’d rather we pushed out the boat a bit on a striker, and made do with Deas or promoting from the youths to cover LB.

Yeah, I like the signing videos and think they're a nice addition but at times it seems the media team are so focused on doing something funny and different that they miss out on what the fans actually want/need to know. Length of contract is like one of the primary things the article should be mentioning. Hopefully gets updated.

I really rated Stryjek in his second season at Livi. Early in his time there he was prone to an absolute calamity but when he settled he was a smashing goalkeeper. I hoped at the time when he left that he was a guy we would have had on our radar. Glad to have him on board now.

Sounds a bit of a weird one, is it a case where we have signed him but if the other club want him back then they get 1st shout at no charge with a bit off notice ? So no fee or contract length ?

Was the same wording on the Kiltie deal I believe, maybe just us taking over the rest of his contract. Saves the Polish side wages on a bench player and saves us forking out a transfer fee

In his interview he confidently mentions 'getting back to playing again' and how it was a difficult spell not playing... it understand how he's speaking that he thinks he's been brought in as no1. Also indicated by use potentially paying a fee, would be silly to pay when there are other adequate backup keepers out there avaliable for nothing
