was speaking to my boy who is 14 last week and he was talking about one of his classes and saying the teacher struggles to control it, i asked how many kids were in the class and was shocked when he replied between 35-40 in some of them, now im 36 and maybe my memory is failing me but i dont remember any of my classes at school being as big as that

am i wrong or does that number seem a bit on the high side ? 1 teacher managing 30+ kids

Does seem very high. How good is your boy at counting?

Think it's maybe to do with the fact there are 4000 less teachers and the SNP don't give a flying f**k about anything other than creating grievances and obsessing over English people. They also have a demented cult following that let's them away with being s**t.

So basically, your saying the SNP are an anti English (which means racist) cult, obsessed with dividing society?

Next time you make a contribution, I suggest you insert " McLeans Magic Flute of Unioinism" into the correct orifice!

Labour voter of decades accusing other party of following a cult. Irony alert.

Labour got away with being a shambles up here for  decades as nobody would vote Tory, you only need to take a look a the crumbling mess of their "new schools" that have saddled the country with £100m's of debt and you've a cheek to moan about education?!!

Good point... how much is it again that local authorities are tied in to paying in PFI deals that could have went into actual education?

Maybe that's just another entry in the Labour Unmentionables column.

Just £30bn i believe across schools, hospital, roads etc.

Education & Health both saddled with toxic debt due to Labour mis-management.

Ah, so just the £30,000,000,000 then of public money going into private hands?

30 thousand million! If you say it fast it's pocket money.

Thanks Tony & Big Gordo. 9_9

I wish we could go back to those Socialist days...

They'll seem like heaven once we're independent. We'll be too busy trying to exist with a fifteen billion pound deficit, downgraded credit ratings, a currency crisis and two million Nats searching for a scapegoat. SNP socialism for the cosy middle classes will n longe be possible.

Every single great thing you claim Labour achieved was done with a far larger deficit, both per capita and as a percentage of GDP. Even Broon the one eyed yoon, acknowledges the need for governments to borrow to invest. It's the cornerstone of the Keynesian economics your failed party was built on.

More like cool half story. He won't tell you that despite there being less teachers (it's never been 4000 less btw), classroom sizes have remained roughly the same. A ratio of 17 pupils to 1 teacher in primary schools in 2005 v 16.6 to 1 in 2016. 12.3 to 1 in secondary schools in 2005 v 12.2 to one in 2016.

Its the same with the cancer waiting times he's gloating about tonight. No mention that the Scottish government set more ambitious targets than their labour predecessors, or they are outperforming labours record, only that targets are being missed.

Maybe if Labour in Scotland were able to come up with something more than "SNP bad" they'd be more than a political irrelevance.

You've got to hand it to them, they've managed to go from having idiots voting for them no matter what based on their grievances against the Tories up here, even though every local council in Scotland was an absolute fcuk cluste, to now being left with only complete and utter idiots voting for them. So much so, they have as much influence as the Green's at Holyrood. In fact, the Greens have more influence.

They've played a blinder.

PS - Any know what Douglas Alexander is up to these days?

Having watched James Kelly stutter and spit his way through his speech yesterday (psychologists would have field day analysing him btw), it seems the dearth of intelligent Labour 'peeeople', means their idiots are in parliament rather than in the voting booths these days. He makes Johann "we're not genetically programmed in Scotland to make political decisions" Lamont, look like a political heavyweight and make you pine for the golden age of Iain 'da do run run' Grey.

However, despite her never being described as the smartest cookie, I was impressed that Wee Kez had the awareness and humility, to chastise Rooth the mooth for the tone and language she brought to the debate. It can't be easy to do your growing up in the public eye, but if she continues to show she's learning from her mistakes, it might be worth cutting her some slack.
