They were certainly the better team in the two games at RP this season so I don't think we can complain. We could do with a few more points before the split just to make things safe. Neither Sevco nor Hearts are that great and we've taken points from both already this season so there is no reason why we can't get something. Another 3 points before the split and I think we should be ok, if we don't get any then it could be a very nervy last five games. 0 Quote

I'll be up to take in the first two after-split games. IF they'd made the top six, then those games would probably have been humpings. Anyone know when those fixtures are finalised (I know - AFTER the current lot, but when?) If you can't reach a European place then the only benefits of the top six are 1. money and 2. this season guaranteeing that you won't go down. The last five sets of matches are going to be huge for all six teams in the bottom half. It will be a very exciting few weeks. 0 Quote

Jedi2 Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 Draw is a decent enough result today..however Accies last minute goal is a kick in the teeth, as with 6pts between us and 11th place, we are back in it. Also, they have now gotten their bad run of games out of the way (playing Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen and Hearts). Still need a win from the next 3 (hopefully Hearts at home, if not this Wednesday) 0 Quote
Killie1970 Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 Hamilton won 1-0 against a team who played with 9 men for 45 minutes. They are not a good side! We are getting results against those around us and are looking pretty solid. I don't want to tempt fate but I think we ae good enough to pull clear of any dramas towards the end of the season. 0 Quote

Jedi2 Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 Accies are indeed not a good side. However, what they always seem to manage is to grind out a result exactly when they need it. It would of been good to have kept that gap to 11th at 8pts today. As things stand ICT look most likely to be botton, given that they can't seem to win games when they really need to...11th place, essentially between us, Well, County and Accies. Could really do with going into the split with at least a 6pt gap. Thistle look good for the top half with their win today, we really had to beat them at home a couple of weeks ago. 0 Quote

I can see them dropping plenty of points in these 3 games prior to the split. Edited April 1, 2017 by C4mmy31 0 Quote
Killie1970 Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 A win against Partick would have been tremendous. As it is, we didn't get it but we didn't lose either. We are picking up crucial points...maybe not ideal, as wins are better, but a point is a LOT better than no points! We didn't do this last season and ended up, deservedly, in the play offs. We have another 9-10 points left in us this season and that will be more than enough to see us comfortably safe. If we don't achieve this, then we deserve all that we get. 0 Quote
Malkmus Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 We will probably stay up forget about top six though. Partick at home was a decent point as they are a far better team than us, drawing away to the poorest ICT team I can remember is a reality check for me of where we are. 0 Quote
killie billies pal Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 Agree , thing is that this SPL (or whatever) is the strangest i can remember, Accies have beaten Aberdeen twice i think, ICT draw with Celtic and beat Rangers, we have been unable to win two straight games yet are the closest challengers to top 6, there is simply very little class football on show, i agree with John Rankin and Malky MacKay that young players are lazy and think they have made it, long before its true. Not sure what kind of side we will have next season, but we will be in the top league in whatever form it takes, they won't do it, but now is the time to make league into 16 teams, whether we like it or not we need Hibs and Dundee United back in, Falkirk probably deserve to be there too and QOTS. 0 Quote
Harrogate Peter Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 I certainly think a sixteen point league would give clubs like us time/breathing space to develop more young players and time for them to develop too rather than constantly looking over our shoulder. Even then would we do it though? 0 Quote

C4mmy31 Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 We also have Kiltie back playing first team football, by the time the split comes he should be closer to match fitness, it will be like signing a new player in time for these games. 0 Quote
Craigie11 Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 Just read that Martin Canning admitted that himself & his assistant went back onto the pitch after being halfway down the tunnel at halftime today to point out to the ref that both Saints players should be red carded for fighting, just shows you how desperate they are, would absolutely love to be the ones to put that shower down! 0 Quote

skygod Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 Not sure what you think I'm saying. When I say "new manager", it could be McCulloch - he would be a new manager. Do you disagree with my three points? Three wins from our last 15 league matches. Three wins in 14 home matches. I'm not criticising McCulloch - these are long-standing failings. 0 Quote
kfc_superteam Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 Having a look at the run-in we have tricky games but the other teams will take points off each other. We will prob find we will be slightly closer to 11 th in 2 weeks time. 0 Quote
stewarty66 Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 How will the post split fixtures work ? If it stays as it is we've been away twice already this season to all the bottom 6 apart from Motherwell 0 Quote
piffer Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 Looking at the teams in the bottom six we are due home ties vs County, Dundee, ICT and Accies. My guess is we will get ICT and Accies at home and maybe one of County or Dundee depending how many home ties we've had 0 Quote
