WWWWnnnnnn!
Newcastle should be looking at what has just happened with Pickford at Sunderland and get him playing.

Squirrelhumper
Why would you want to go on loan to that rubbish managed by that clown?

He might not have a say in the matter as the club will probably decide where he goes. Given Clark's relationship with Beardsley I wouldn't be surprised to see him at Bury unfortunately
Squirrelhumper
I don't think Beardsley will have much input now. It'll be a Benitez decision.
piffer
It'll be Benitez and the goalkeeper coaches now. Woodland stock is very high at the moment and in the last six months he's shown the potential he has. It will be taken away from the youth staff
Scouser2
LM did say at the recent meeting that he was looking to bring in another keeper ............as yet none added so does wonder if he is holding out in case there is a chance of getting Woodman -- or perhaps will try for another loanee keeper .
trebor
maybe I've missed somewhere but what has happened to McKay as I always thought he had potential. He seemed to get good reports when on loan?
MJout
Still there. I think he's a smashing keeper.

Bullitt
Patiently sitting tight for news on the waiting list are Peterborough United, Northampton Town, Bury and Kilmarnock who all want to take him on a season-long deal. Woodman is on the crest of a wave at the moment after winning the Under-20 World Cup with England and showing his quality throughout the tournament to reaffirm his position as one of the country’s very best young goalkeepers. And the next step of his career is going to be an important one as he looks to kick on and break into the Newcastle team within the next two or three years. It’s vital that Woodman, now 20, gets 30 to 40 senior appearances under his belt next season if that aim is to be realistic. United must nurture Woodman’s talent carefully and learn from their own mistakes of the past when it comes to goalkeepers. Jak Alnwick is the classic example of a talented young goalkeeper who seemed to be forgotten about in the club’s reserves. Just four years ago former England youth international Alnwick was on the same pitch as £75million man Romelu Lukaku during his early Chelsea days, but while the Belgian was sent out on loan deals to West Brom and Everton, the young goalkeeper stayed in the reserves and arguably stagnated. Then during a goalkeeping crisis at Newcastle in late 2014, he was thrown in at the deep end and scalded by the intensity of senior football before eventually leaving United to rebuild his career with Port Vale. Alnwick then did enough to earn himself a big move to Glasgow Rangers but Newcastle can’t afford to make similar mistakes with Woodman. Leaving him to ply his trade in the Under-23s is a dangerous option because you can only learn so much playing in the second string in front of small crowds or behind closed doors. As it stands Woodman will be number three goalkeeper at United next season and he will play the role of understudy to Karl Darlow and Rob Elliot. Rafa Benitez has made it clear on several occasions to his board that he wants another senior goalkeeper through the door this season. But his pleas seem to be falling on deaf ears and if he starts the season the way things are it will almost certainly have a knock-on effect on Woodman. The youngster needs to go out on loan and with EFL teams getting ready to start their season in a fortnight, time is running out for the talented England youth international.
C4mmy31
Think we can safely say we won't see him back at RP.... England Under-20 and Newcastle goalkeeper Freddie Woodman, 20, has a host of Championship clubs keen to take him on loan this season.(Chronicle Live)
Sp3ckyh0td0g81
You would have thought If he was going out on loan again but this time to a championship club, it would have been sorted out by now or at the very least clubs named as front runners

ross1987
Played will against Mainz yesterday Got the last 35 mins, one cracking save that I saw. He's no.3 at the moment behind Elliot and Darlow. Krul been told he can leave. There was walk of Darlow going but that seems to have died down. If Newcastle sign another keeper, with Karnezis of Udinese apparently lined up - Woodman will be available.
chubbs
I still think he could be back. They know he advanced here last season and with our defence he will be tested in EVERY game, he likes the area and the club which might swing things in our favour. Chelsea took an on fire Ben Gordon back and sent him on loan down South where he went backwards and wasted 6 months ... the same could happen with Woodman if he doesn't settle at another club.
