Mulumbu clearly has a lot of respect for SC, especially when he's travelled up here just to get himself fit.

In all honesty, I'd be surprised if we manage to clinch a deal with him, especially re wages...would eclipse the surprise I felt when Clarke became boss.

But aye, he'd be a good signing imo who'd bring a wealth of valuable experience. Hope Clarke plays his cards right providing he is seriously interested in signing him.

Not sure if I'd be surprised, doesn't need the money and doesn't have a current contract. Short term deal could be beneficial all round.

We might even just suggest a 3 month contract with a view to him getting a move in January.

I would expect SC to have something like this up his sleeve because it seems strange to bring a guy up here just for fitness.

I'm right in saying he's a DM?

That's what I thought but just had a discussion about him with my West Brom supporting boss who says he's more attacking than holding/defensive midfield.  Was a bit of a fan favourite at the Baggies and he had nothing but positive things to say about him.

Moist.

Before we get ahead of ourselves, there have been plenty 'big names' recently come up here and hardly set the heather alight:

Joey Barton
Julien Faubert
Guy Demel
Eric Djemba-Djemba

Would still be worth a shot though!

They've got another thing in common.

None of them were managed by Steve Clarke at the time. If he can get Broadfoot, O' Donnell, Power playing well, I'm sure he would get Mulumbu up to speed.

With Clarke in charge I feel it will be very much a case of him having to show he’s a good fit for the club rather than us trying to sell the club to him.

i can’t imagine Steve Clarke phoning him every day begging him to sign for us the way Gary Locke did with...eh... Ryan Stevenson.

If he had done he would probably have been Locke's best signing.

Always amuses me when people assume these guys are loaded. He may well be or he might have blown the lot. You never know people’s circumstances so he might be willing to play for a level we can afford.

He was earning around 100 times the average wage for the country he is living in. He bloody well should be loaded.

If he had blown the lot, he would presumably be looking for the best-paying gig he could find as quickly as possible, not hanging about for six months before trying out for a cash-strapped SPFL club.

I like the sound of an Alan Powers Magic hat.

ALAN POWERS MAGIC, HE WEARS A MAGIC HAT

IF YOU THROW A BRICK AT HIM HE'LL HEED THE F**KER BACK

HE PASSES TO THE LEFT , HE PASSES TO THE RIGHT

AND WHEN WE WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE WE’LL SING THIS SONG ALL NIGHT

Granted it's a copy of Leeds' Pontus Jansson lyrics but it's fitting :D

Never thought I'd see the day that we would be making up Alan power songs in a positive sense. Can' be many players that have made opinions change so quickly.

In fairness no one was in a position to really have a positive opinion of him. A few poor outings early season and then couldn’t get near the team despite it being an utter shambles.

We should take the positives that he has turned it around and doesn’t look like another of those who will be bombed out at the first opportunity like so many in the past.

Totally agree. Looks to be an asset now. I had written him off after a few miserable displays for first team and devpt team. Looks a different player now.
