piffer
Was asked about this the other day. Not the best game but the best footballing performance. Ones that come to mind mostly in recent years are the run of 3-0 wins under Mixu, the first half 3-0 vs Celtic only to blow it in the second. We played really well in the League Cup final. Anymore
Dillinger
Dunfermline 0-6 was a great performance
Fankle
Bizarrely one that sticks in mind is when we lost 5-3. The highlights don't do the performance justice, I recall the stats in the paper showed we had 20 attempts on goal. Hearts seemed to score with every attack though...

Totally dominated them and left them looking like a sunday league team.. McDicken'sLeftPeg
6th March 1978 - Monday night Scottish Cup Replay against Celtic. We tore into Celtic from the start and truly could (and should) have been 3-0 up at half-time. Somehow it was a goalless first half. Celtic - presumably having had a rocket up their 'hinend at half-time came out the traps fast in the second half but Killie matched them. Roy Aitken was deservedly sent off on the hour mark and we pummelled them for the rest of the game but it looked like they would hang on. Until, in the 83rd minute, McDicken sent 14,000 into raptures with a bullet of a daisy-cutter from 25 yards that flew in off the base of the post. The noise in the last 7 minutes was unreal but we were almost silenced in the last minute when Jim Stewart was beaten for the first time that night by a Johannes Edvaldsson shot that McDicken managed to clear off the line. A never-to-be-forgotten game for anyone lucky enough to be at RP that night, including this ecstatic twelve year old!
CB
First half against aberdeen in 98 Every time we went up the park, it looked like we'd score. Took our foot off the gas in the second half a bit. But that first 45 was glorious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Yyz638HYPQ

funky monkey
First half of the League Cup Final where Durrant and Holt dominated a very good Celtic side. Durrant didnt come out for thr second half and Henrik Larsson got a couple of deflected goals.
Harrogate Peter
1-1 at Tynecastle 14th March 1998. A season Hearts were going for Championship and we were brilliant. Paul Wright hit the post near the end with a volley so powerful that I always check whether it's stick shaking? Often say it but we often don't win when at our very best. Hope that doesn't jinx today!!!!!

Not surprised tho, they are a shower of sub-humanoid knuckle dragging scum. Chew
Mixu's last game at Rugby Park. We beat Motherwell 3-1. I was in hospitality that day and we were phenomenal. I remember Jamie Hammill trying an overhead kick in the box.
Waverley
We beat Falkirk 9 -2 in 1963? We went top of the League as the Huns lost to St Mirren. We were 6 nil up at ht, 9 nil after 60 mins and looked like we were going to break the record. McIlroy missed a penalty to make it 10 shortly after, before the Bairns got 2 late consolation goals. Those first 65 minutes were the best I've seen us!
