Dons away 27/01 Fred

As for the midfield, Mulumbu was good in periods but reckon the lack of movement in front of him didn’t help, although he was holding on to it a second too long sometimes. He missed having Power there to break up play and bounce the ball off of. Alan Power’s influence in this team really cannot be understated, he makes us tick and we do not have another player like him. Dicker was again quietly comfortable and as usual dependable. Agree completely regarding the lack of quality midfield depth and would say it’s one of the few areas we need to address, along with, hopefully Bassong.

Cracks beginning to appear. Despite Clarke's alleged contacts, very little activity in the transfer window to plug the obvious deficiencies in the team. Like Kenny Shiels, Steve Clarke is a very good assistant manager who apparently can't handle the top job. Maybe we should have stuck with Lee McCulloch and given him time to get his signings settled in properly.

Bore off ya clown.

Killie's away unbeaten league run came to an end as a second-half comeback saw Aberdeen run out 3-1 winners at Pittodrie.

Kris Boyd had opened the scoring for Killie on his 300th appearance for the club, deflecting Greg Taylor's shot past Danny Rogers.

The Ayrshire side had controlled large periods of the first half through midfield trio Alan Power, Gary Dicker and the returning Youssouf Mulumbu.

Injury forced Power off at the break with Aberdeen taking advantage with an early equaliser just after the interval.

Scott McKenna knocked the ball towards goal with Adam Rooney claiming he got the final touch to force it over the line and past Jamie MacDonald.

The complexion of the match changed within minutes as Scott McKenna unleashed an unstoppable strike from 35 yards out, which flew past MacDonald and lifted the Dons.

Killie continued to battle and were fighting for an equaliser when Gary Dicker was robbed in possession and Niall McGinn drove forward before placing the ball past the Killie keeper.

Stephen O'Donnell came close to pulling the visitors back into the match but Rogers pulled off a fantastic flying save to deny the defender and ensure Killie came home empty handed.

Kilmarnock: MacDonald; O'Donnell, Broadfoot, S.Boyd, Taylor; Power (Erwin), McKenzie (Kiltie), Mulumbu, Dicker, Jones, K.Boyd (Brophy)

I just watched the game on alba I didn't think we played that bad granted we were slow at the start of the 2nd but we played well in spells. Unlucky with a few chances and there young keeper played well also. Jones really needs to find a final ball at times..

Were you watching it on BBC Alba -1, it's still going......

Just watched the match and as others have said it was a very strange substitution at half time. Clarke really seems to want to give Erwin a chance but when he's on the park it doesn't do anything to deserve it and he didn't look too clever at their first goal.

It looked like we might be able to sneak an equaliser but Dicker giving the ball away for the third was criminal and then he couldn't even catch McGinn who was running with the ball. O'Donnell should have taken him out before he shot as well.

Disappointing when we were in such a good position at half-time. There are quite a few who didn't perform well enough today.

Dicker made a complete arse of it for their third goal.

I'm sorry but lee Erwin? Why clarke, why?

BINGO. the first official criticism and the use of " Clarke "......it's taken a while.

We weren't that bad. Lost Power and our concentration at the start of the second half. We have an average squad, and Sir Steve has wrung the best out of them so far, but we need a couple of new faces. We will not markedly improve our situation in the medium term without a bigger budget. For that we need bigger home gates and far more people contributing to a TiK. That's just common sense.
