Andy
It should be and will be Hampden, again if we get there. Bit it will also be on TV. Folk saying half fulll, really ?? Honestly I think both teams will do exceptionally well to shift 10,000 each, way short of even half full. If it’s Aberdeen and not us with early ko, same.

We took 15000 to our last semi, in the wee cup, at lunchtime, in January and it was available to watch on tv.

Tynecastle (if it was completed) or Easter Road would be a much better venue for the game -be it Aberdeen or Killie. Yes Hampden is the traditional semi final venue, but a 20,000 seat stadium would be better for atmosphere. If you gave each club two stands in either of the Edinburgh grounds the atmosphere would be incredible. But less so in a 30-40% full athletics stadium that masquerades as a 21c football ground! I'm pretty sure the pubs were showing it, even my old man watched it live on the internet.

Andy
If we take 10,000 to the semi if we get there we will be doing well, and I know I am getting ahead of myself here but if we made it to final we won’t get much more than 10,000 as we are playing one half of the ugly sisters. -

Even so if we get to a Scottish Cup semi at Hampden v Motherwell we will comfortably be taking a 5 figure crowd.
Squirrelhumper
A Killie-Motherwell semi-final would be 20,000+ easy.
killieboy
Hampden should be reserved for the finals only and semi final venues should be pre determined at the start of the season. Wouldn’t he against bottom two tiers at Ibrox if we were to get through. -
Bullitt
Potentially able to get to a semi final with two clubs from West central Scotland and we have folk saying it should be played at f**king Easter Road or Ibrox which is same size as Hampden!!! What is wrong with folk!! It's a national semi final it will be played where it Should, at the national stadium. Same as they do in England with semi finals at Wembley!

In both cases the ground is half empty but at least at Hampden extra cash isn't going to Der Hun...
Scouser2
not really bothered at moment --- UNTIL we actually get through but as and when we do ----will await the pages and pages of comments about the kick off times --- will be lunch time on the Saturday or Sunday -- and then chat about the prices --- with demand for other Semi then could be higher than expected --- but bring it on as and when we do qualify ---hopefully

Yes, but that's still not the most popular decision ever made in English Football. More to do with TV companies and Wembley PLC ? Mind you I did see Pompey there... 5 times in 2 seasons... whatever happened to them ???
Ben Reilly
It's a semi-final to win the right to play for the oldest cup in world football. It should be played on the biggest stage and not consigned to a side-show. If ourselves and 'Well, (presuming we get there), can't take 12,500 - 15,000 each then there is something badly wrong. Hampden is a reward for making the semi and it shouldn't arbitrarily be taken away because you are a 'smaller club'.
Wrangodog
Let's just concentrate on the game against Aberdeen and go for that historic first Scottish Cup win against them. Edited March 5, 2018 by Wrangodog

Squirrelhumper
PS - Folk overplay how bad Hampden is for view etc. If there's 25000 there everyone will have a decent view.
Dennykillie
If the bigot twins had avoided each other would it have been OK for Rangers to play their game at Celtic Park with Celtic playing their game at Ibrox? That is the logic of saying Hamden should only be for the final. Either both semis should be at Hampden or neither should. -
MrTumnus
Unfortunately there is no 20,000 to 25,000 stadiums in the west of Scotland so there is no real alternative to Hampden. Rather it was in a half full Hampden with everybody getting the chance to go than a 3/4 full Easter Road with some fans choosing not to go due to the location.

killie billies pal
At both 1997 semis, played early/midweek due to Sky, seem to remember the crowds were in the region of 9’000 or less, sadly pricing won’t be good , but surely our “fans” will simply turn up ( if we beat Sheep of course)
