red_dug
Its simple, the tv companies demand 4 old firm games, its either play 44 game seasons or cope with the split. Crap i know but those are the options. We'd all love a 16 team top league but 2 teams and the sponsors/media would never allow it.

They managed well enough without any league games for four years. If the TV companies demand them, it's only because the SPL/ SPFL has spoonfed them. Unless I am mistaken we are the only club in the top six not to have 4 home games against them as was supposed to be the case This is then compounded by the fact that we don't have a TV game. There doesn't seem to be anything fair and we are the club that is losing out financially. Tv league home games make no extra money for the club and probably cut the crowd which will loss the club money.

Can someone please explain how the money from the TV games is allocated and what extra money (if any) is paid to a club whose home game is live on TV? They must receive some level of compensation as it is inevitable that the crowd will be lower.

This is allocated to the clubs based on their final league positions. No money is paid to clubs for live televising of individual league matches. Bonbon19
Let’s just get on with it. ‘The lack of any TV games does a disservice to our fans who can’t attend but when we win the next 5 games the TV companies might just change their minds , I believe it s been done before.

Do they get a payment based on final league position and a payment for each game?
C4mmy31
OFFICIAL CLUB STATEMENT...... Kilmarnock Football Club wishes to express its disappointment following the publication of the Scottish Premiership post-split fixtures. As has already been alluded to there is always the possibility of an imbalance of home and away fixtures. This year we see a relative balance being struck with the reallocation of additional home matches to another team in the league, which ultimately results in Kilmarnock FC facing three trips to Ibrox with Rangers having made only one trip to Rugby Park. While we share the frustration of our supporters at this outcome, we hope you will continue to provide the magnificent backing you have shown to our team over the course of the season. The connection between the club and supporters has been a critical factor to our upturn in fortunes. While an additional visit by Rangers would naturally provide a boost in terms of income, the passion, ambition and focus of everyone at the club remains on continuing to grow our home crowds. Your strong vocal backing of the team has seen Rugby Park rocking and made our home a place our opponents respect once again. We are focused on finishing the campaign as strongly as possible and ask that our fans back us in numbers both home and away in our remaining matches of this fantastic season and we look forward to the forthcoming launch of our season ticket campaign for the 2018/19 season over the next few weeks. Together, We Are Stronger.

I think our club is right to name THE Rangers twice in the statement just to make the point that that shower are, as always, the beneficiaries of the latest SPFL/ Doncaster sham.
