Secret Squirrel
Have to say i'm pretty fed up with the part time support that we get. Whenever there's some big occasion cup final, Ayrshire derby ,relegation decider we suddenly have a mass of people appear out of nowhere to try and sample some glory. I know most clubs get this but it make me irate that these people put nothing into the club then come along to reap the rewards when it goes well. No doubt the people of Kilmarnock and Ayrshire will turn up tomorrow to claim their freebies before scurrying off to ibrox, Celtic Park or their sky box's until the next big event. To make it clear im not bashing those who need to travel large distances or have legitimate reasons for not making most games. -

Do you think it’s likely we will keep Clarke, Dyer, Jones etc when we have a “support” that will not invest in the club, I give you the 200 odd TIK memberships level as an indicator of the lack of commitment from our fans, pathetic that’s what it is With all due respect.... I’ve been a ST holder for 25+ years. I have no intention of joining TIK. I’d imagine others - many others - feel the same. -

Probably. But I doubt it's to do with having 1,500 less season ticket holders than he (and we) had hoped for.

Sky et al have introduce wall to wall football , mostly playing football at a higher level than SPFL with better players , with better analysis and build up than discussing it with your mate in the pie queue . This has IMO raised peoples expectations of what they want from a football match and then there’s the streaming option. Go onto any football board and you can get a link to practically any football match in the world for a fee that’s much less than the admission to RP . The core support will always be there but this clarion call for the lapsed , the lazy or the indifferent to return to RP will IMO fall on deaf ears , as has been seen re the poor uptake of the trust initiatives . Fudger
So what does the figure today tell us: the only real change from last year is buyer habits in that more people bought sooner and ultimately cheaper? OR do we still have a relatively large amount of existing season ticket holders to renew this week and take it over the 4K mark? We bought 6 (3 free kids) three weeks ago, two mates had never bought one before and one of the ladies in the shop said there had been a lot of new and lapsed supporters bought tickets.

trenwick
maybe we need a signing or two from left field or someone to get the fans excited. its ok getting everyone signed up to avoid wholesale changes but fans love new players coming to the club.... maybe a lee clark 19 signings in one day will boost seasion tickets sales this week
Mojike and Bod
I think a lot of existing season ticket holders have still to renew and leave it to the last kick. There are always a load of people buying season tickets on the day of the first home game. At the KSA meeting last month 650 still had to renew. Still confident we will sell 4K.

theboyjohnston
Surprised at that figure. I have taken a season ticket for the first time in maybe 10 yrs, one friend has done the same and another has one for the first time. There are similar anecdotes across this forum. Would be good to get some clarity, or a breakdown from the club on the number announced yesterday. -
