Harrogate Peter
Here is a guy who because of Kris Boyd's legendary achievements and miraculous comeback won't even be remembered as the best 'Boyd' at the club! Nevertheless he's been a consistent 7/10 performer whenever he's called upon. The clean sheets in the demanding last two matches of the season are testimony to that. To have someone who is happy to be a back up and yet performs so reliably is a real asset to the club. Given that Kirk Broadfoot isn't getting any younger and will always be vulnerable to suspension/injury it's great to have this guy at the club. Hope we can sign Findlay plus one other (with Wilson/Dicker as another option) but whenever folk talk about more exciting signings it seems to me that we're doing it on the basis we can rely on Scott in a key position whenever needed. The Chris Burke thread seemed to be suggesting that he could do a similar job in more advanced positions and I'm firmly on the fence on that one. If SSC thinks he can do a 'Scott Boyd' then fair enough.
fmcc
Hear, hear. I've liked him and glad he's signed for another year. Not particularly fashionable to like him, but another one who has improved of late.
Killieboykfc
I think he's a smashing defender. As you say always a solid 7/10. Seems a nice guy too.
Nobody
He has been very solid any time he has played. Defines "no nonsense". It's ironic that County who rejected him are away, yet he is in the top 6 with us. Good for him. PS A Lee Clark signing (shhh)
casual observer
The kind of guy every squad needs to just slot in, do nothing flashy, or stupid, and just defend sensibly. Glad to have him.
Charlie's Dad
Absolutely spot on a great guy to have in the squad.

killieboy87
Thought he had a wee rocky spell around the middle of the season - think there was a couple of games we were without Broadfoot/Findlay and he was a bit shaky, but the few appearances he got at the end of the season he was back to his reliable self.
Knapster
I think SSC has improved him as a defender, even now into his thirties, he used to be a bit rash and give away silly needless fouls but he’s cut that out completely of late.
Arderkilliesier
Plenty Ross County fans amazed when they let him go and maybe a contributing factor to McIntyre and Dodds getting the boot as very popular with the fans and released while in his testimonial season...not nice....good bit of business by Killie though, our gain their loss, definitely worth an extended contract..
Scouser2
Solid no nonsense type of defender, ..IMO a decent back up as think we need another first choice CH....especially if Findlay is looking elsewhere and not going to sign
Jimmy Superscot
This got me thinking - very appropriate to have 2 Boyds on the books given the historical connection between the town and Clan Boyd. The 2 erect fingers in our crest come from the original Clan Boyd crest and Dean Castle was their modest little home...
Bonbon19
Was Scott not called the ginger Pele by Rossco fans ? ‘If so belies the no nonsense tag
Dillinger
Good post. Can't remember last time he had a bad game. Always solid
Garnkirk20
Very pleased he has signed on. No nonsense defender. I am sure SC said early on about Scott Boyd "he knows how to defend"
SM21
Solid enough CB needs to be more aggressive at times however

Could same point be made for Jags and Liam Lindsay (I know Barnsley were relegated!) because I thought he was a good young and mobile centre half? It may account for some of their decline this season. Either way these really are key positions in our league and close season signings here are crucial.
