Would rather he didn't stay in Scotland and play against us.  I would have thought he would want to play in a better quality league than ours.

Perhaps he enjoyed his time here so much, he wanted to stay.

You would have thought Bordeaux would have snaffled him on a pre contract after 'running out of time' in January

That was the rumour but priorities can change. It seems crazy that clubs are queueing up to sign McGinn for £3-4m when they could get Mulumbu for nothing. McGinn is younger certainly, but no more talented a player than Mulumbu.

good bit of business for hibs if true get mulumbu  on a free whos a much better player than mcginn will ever be and get £3mill for mcginn plus maybe player from celtic allan or christie who are on a par with mcginn

Though McGinn was the standout midfielder in the league last year and has a great career ahead of him.

On the evidence of the Killie v Hibs matches from last season, McGinn is the better player. He had the advantage of having McGeoch alongside him but it's definitely a stretch to claim that Mulumbu is "much better than McGinn will ever be".

I thought McGinn / McGeouch were one of the few mid pairings to boss Mulumbu last season.

Agree. Hibs moved the ball too quickly in the midfield area for Mulumbu to have his usual effect. One of the reasons is that they don't play with a "holding" midfielder. Personally I like the way Hibs play - the personnel they have suit the formation and vice versa.
