Bizzare Killie Episodes

Recommended Posts

A windy day in the mid 90's, a match against Motherwell.  Motherwell are attacking towards the end of the game but a defender, possibly Neil Whitworth attempts to clear the ball but its so windy that it ends up going backwards and the keeper catches it. The referee then decides to give Well an indirect free kick for a pass back from which they score the winning goal.

Not the wind - the ball spun up off McGowne's boot and Meldrum caught it.

Here, around the three-minute mark:

Jeezo you always think of Monty, McGowan, Kerr and McPherson as being amongst the best defence we've had in recent years, but those goals lost were amateurish.

I vaguely remember that pass back now I've seen it.

Hearts game in the sun when an elderly fan invaded the pitch, Clyde game at rugby park where Clyde player took a corner and kicked the pole instead of the ball sending somersaulting across the pitch, east Fife game getting abandoned as Killie players had hypothermia, Danny Crainie scoring from his own half v thistle, any game at Meadowbank stadium

Haha "any game at Meadowbank stadium". Brilliant.

Getting moved to the uncovered part of the ground as there was a cat show on.

Another game at Meadowbank, Boxing Day around 91 or 92 and the lad sitting behind me had obviously consumed a couple of disco biscuits and was still tripping, he spent the entire match chanting "Acid man, Killie fan"

Remember the cat show game as it was absolutely freezing that day

Playing away against Raith Rovers , 3-0 down with 5 minutes to go and trying to persuade the fans that had left early who were still waiting at Kirkcaldy station that it finished 3-3.

Reminds of the match we were 4-0 down at home to Raith Rovers at half-time. Walter McCrae brought on the only substitute, Frank Beattie, and it ended up 4-4.

In recent memory, the sick linesman against Dundee which almost made JJ puke.

The blizzard during the ICT game a couple of years ago when it had be stopped frequently to get the tractors to plough the snow. Loved that game!

Going over the Fourth Rail Bridge to learn a game v Dunfermline had been called off due to fog. And on the way back home, seeing pics on Twitter of a pretty much clear as day East End Park.
