Scouser2
If true , strange timing and he could well have had a longer chance to impress tonight after the Broadfoot injury getting used instead of Tish... As for Bright re hearts away game , thought saw him walking round the pitch with other non playing squad players before kick off..
LeonPanikvar
Heard bright had been in Germany during one of the international breaks and missed his flight home. Was back to training a day late

Charlie's Dad
Both looked like they could add something to the squad. Bright had blistering pace and Byrne had a good range of passing and always wanted the ball. However squad unity at the moment is the most important thing if we're going to achieve anything. If there were problems or they're not happy then we're well rid of them.

chubbs
Bright was pretty ineffective when he played but Byrne looked lively and was playing his way to getting a start.
Bristol Killie
Bright started really well against Accies until the Hamilton hatchets got into him. Never looked the same after getting clattered.
KennyH80
Bright looked good the second half of the St Mirren away game. Played a more central role where he looked far more comfortable and dangerous.
Prahakillie
Jack Byrne linked with move to Shamrock Rovers FORMER IRELAND U21 international Jack Byrne could be set for a return home, with Shamrock Rovers keen on his signature. Having joined Kilmarnock in August, the 22-year-old midfielder’s time in Scotland appears to be over after only four months. Byrne has found it difficult to break into Steve Clarke’s side and managed just five appearances — all as a substitute — for the surprise Scottish Premiership leaders. He wasn’t included in the matchday squad for last night’s 2-0 win over Livingston. The42 understands that Rovers are interested in the Dubliner, although securing a striker is the SSE Airtricity League side’s main priority. Byrne trained with Stephen Bradley’s squad in the past, while his agent is former Ireland, Arsenal and Hoops forward Graham Barrett. The St Kevin’s Boys product earned a reputation as one of Ireland’s hottest young prospects with the Manchester City U19s in the 2014/15 Uefa Youth League — where he scored six goals in eight matches. Those performances earned him comparisons with Roy Keane from his then-manager Patrick Vieira. A season-long loan spell at Dutch side Cambuur proved worthwhile as he gained experience playing regular first-team football in the Eredivisie, and a call-up to the senior Ireland squad followed that summer. Since then, however, Byrne’s career hasn’t gone the way he would have hoped. After an unsuccessful stint with Wigan Athletic, he began life well at Oldham Athletic but breached disciplinary rules and was forced to train with the youth team before the League Two club terminated his contract by mutual agreement at the end of August. A move to Rovers would represent an opportunity to get back on track by establishing himself in the League of Ireland before earning a switch back across the water in the same way that players such as Graham Burke, Sean Maguire and Richie Towell have done. https://www.the42.ie/jack-byrne-shamrock-rovers-kilmarnock-football-4380512-Dec2018/
Nobody
I don't understand why the boy wouldn't stick it out here - with injuries he was bound to have got a chance as a starter. Anyway sounds like it is water under the bridge so tatty-bye

Squirrelhumper
Think Byrne was a better player in some folks heads (and his) than he actually was. Guy played about 90 mins in total for us, if he was any good he'd have got a chance, even a regular sub. He wasn't in the team as there were far better players in his position. -
historyman
Certainly seems to be an attitude problem if two clubs have now dispensed with his services in quick succession. Maybe another case of someone getting too much too young (I would imagine that he would have been on fair wage at Man City) and forgetting that hard work, dedication and discipline are still needed. His physical development wouldnt have helped either as there arent many players of his stature playing in the top level in England, the ones that do are exceptional talents like David Silva. With him and Bright now gone it gives SSC the chance to bring in a couple in January. With where we are in the league and with the praise he is getting it might help to attract some players from down south whose clubs might not have been interested previously. The quality of the cover he can bring in during the window could have a big say in how the rest of the season goes.
Mojike and Bod
The Oldham fans seemed to think Byrne would p*ss the Scottish Premiership and Wolves fans thought Bright would rip it up - 'why is he going there etc...' Emblematic of the vast majority of English football fans complete ignorance to the Scottish game where 'me nan could score in that league' and they take their opinion on Scottish football from The Moose on Talksport. Whilst Bright has been injured in part neither have really shown anything to indicate they are world beaters in their fleeting appearances. I would also bet their attitude hasn't been great as they didn't immediately break into the side. No loss if we lose both in January. Free's up wages in the squad for Clarke to add players who will actually contribute and add value.
