Tell you a story about that me mate Jim Haswell and I went to the social club and got pally with the people that ran it. There was a door conecting to the outside of the ground we kept popping in and out for a pint during the game anyway we won 4-2 and Jerome made his debut

historyman
Being one of the last clubs in Scotland (or even Britain) who got a shiny strip in the late 70s / early 80s. We were stuck with that old fashioned hooped thing for years 3-2 defeat at Clydebank the week before Palmerston Paul Clarke's goal-line clearance at Firhill and his mazy v Clydebank McCulloch getting his ankle broken at Morton All the promotion parties Last day survival at Easter Road, the most nervous I have been at any game in life including the cup finals TB's debut at East Fife Willie Watters hat-trick at Berwick Lots of Ayrshire derby memories both good and bad including Big D's very late equaliser at Somerset - I still dont know if it went in or went through the side netting Good memories from Ibrox and mostly bad ones from Parkhead - still never seen us win there Eremenko, Burns & Durrant - the best players I have seen in the stripes And most of all two national trophies, something I never, ever thought I would see as a Killie fan Its been a great team to support over the years, ups and downs but always worth it.

Well, unless we took a decent support in 1955 and they are still kicking about!

A teammate of mine at Johnstone Burgh was Nicky House from Greenock (he used to travel with Norrie Fulton - Steven’s dad) and I think his daughter was called Wendy.

brandnewgutties
One that always springs to mind for me, a visible and audible one, was that shocking early Billy Abercrombie tackle (or rather assault) on Gordon Wylde at Firhill way back. A tackle that saw an immediate red for Abercrombie, and the end of a promising career for Wylde. I still wince when I think about it.

I also think the two players had a bit of history at Thistle.
skygod
Having read various reports today, it seems he made a wild tackle on the guy, Johnny Gibson, which missed and then took a couple of swings at him.

Ayrshire Killie
Palmerston 1989. Five goals for Carpet Fitter Willie Watters in a 6-0 win. Invading the pitch and putting a bit in my pocket as a memorial. Dancing around as we thought we'd stayed up. An injured Gordon Wylde was celebrating with us from the stand. Then the slow realisation that something had gone wrong - Clyde scored a penalty about 6 minutes into injury time and we were down to the second division. All the emotions of being a Killie fan in one day...

I clicked right away and asked if he was Bobby Houston - great guy and good chat for the journey. Not sure how much he gets recognised these days!
