Of course not.  But better together ceased to exist after the 2014 referendum, unlike the YES side, who were in power in Scotland and accountable. BT had luxury of being a tempoary, mostly astroturfed from London Tory $ organisation, so could do whatever they liked if were behind in the run in. SNP/YES being in gov in Scotland and not being a temporary Northern outpost for London Tory money, didn't have that comfy media 'vow' option.  Whole thing was framed like divorce in media,  hence uncomfy use of language like vow rather than promise, although making a promise probably breaks electoral law within 8 wk campaign period.  Semantics are always important if you're a ******* cheat.

i am still waiting for you to understand that i am not a supporter of brexit and have never offered support of brexit being of any worth to the UK. you really need to try and read what people post, it will help. if you can manage it give it a go.

i see no tangible benefit of scottish indy or brexit, but we should honour the results of the referendums.

I'll keep it simple so it doesn't take another 2 weeks for you to come back with a response.

Your position may have been okay if the result was implemented immediately after. But it wasn't because the referendum didn't specify HOW we were to leave. After 3 years we're no further forward because it's a conundrum that can't be solved with any satisfaction.

And after 3 years, your position totally disregards any information that has emerged subsequently.

The 2016 referendum was illegal, there are zero benefits, every single promise made has been since broken and everyone running around for some sort of phantom "deal" are lying snakes!

There's no honour in this at all and folk like you are helping to facilitate this shambles by keeping them in position.

You should be ashamed.

Nope they breached purdah at least three times.  The labour party were phoning the elderly threatening them with lies about pensions.  The BBC gave FREE air and studio time to another anti independence group to create an advert full of lies.

All the unionists have is threats and lies.  If there was a positive case for the union we would have seen it.  We haven't because there isnt one.

I see the natters are offering pensioners a 60% rise to pensioners with the number of pensioners due to rise by a quarter and the working population due to fall. All in a bankrupt country :) Impressive.

I wonder how the cost for that compares to Labours plan to renationalise everything, and give free stuff to everyone?

That stuff Labour plan to nationalise is even popular with Tory voters. Just common sense. But far left wing for you. You can cut the teachers pay again to pay for the property rich wee ladies with fat company pensions in Morningside and Bearsden. That’ll make up for losing the Council Tax freeze. :D

Everyone likes free stuff, that’s not the issue. How you’re going to pay for it is the question. No point promising unicorns if you can’t deliver or it means generations to come are saddled paying for it. Then there’s the hypocrisy of decrying the Scottish growth Commission’s plan and specifically the deficit, while cheering Labours plans to increase the U.K. deficit

No idea what you’re rambling about teachers pay for. As far as I’m aware the Scottish government gave them an inflation busting rise in March or April this year. Not something I agreed with tbh. I’d rather the money had been spent on poor pensioners than cosseted middle class public servants, who are on holiday as often as they’re at work.

You mean in one with the REST of the EU, the UK pension is the LOWEST in europe, which is f**king shameful and is something you're proud of.

Hoping people lose their jobs in Sunderland to now laughing at pensioners getting a better standard of living!  What a socialist you are, dick.

He uses the classic Tory tactic of dividing workers. They’re not meant to have a good standard of living. His contempt for Scottish teachers is not surprising. I don’t know if he actually likes any Scottish people apart from a select band of zoomer Nats. He also wants to take away the lower paid workers tax credits and throw them to the wolves in the hope Asda will pay them more. Absolute right wing, free market, anti trade union zealot that advocates policies Boris would blush at.

Yes, we know, but Scotland will struggle to pay the current pension, without building up old people’s hopes. All services will be slashed getting the deficit down from 6-3% (Growth Commission).

But Scotland doesn’t have a deficit, does it? Did I decry the plan? No. It’s you and you’re zoomer buddy that have rubbished the basis of it. You need to make up your mind. One minute the GERS figure aren’t accurate, the next your approving their use to reduce a deficit you say doesn’t exist. Dearie me, your in danger of disappearing up your own jacksie. I understand that countries economies run deficits and need investment. You seem to take the Thatcherite view that a country is like a household budget. Saddled with debt? Why don’t you just join the Tory Party, and get it over with. Scotland need to get its deficit under control. The UK’s deficit is six times smaller and allows for restructuring and investment. So make your mind up.

By the way, I don’t think the SNP leadership have taken the pension plan on board. It was even too Brigadoon for them :D

You still at this deficit pish, give it a rest.  And before you go trawling they internet for posts where the SNP growth commission used GERS figures, just because that’s the only numbers we have doesn’t make them accurate.

now what about my posts above on laughing at paying pensioners a decent pension, or hoping people lose their jobs or even supporting the most right wing corrupt government (your party would change sod all) such that even the UN has pulled them up!!!!

this is the sort of disgrace you want us saddled and attached to.  You sir are an utter disgrace and should feel shame when you try and call yourself a socialist.

If you want to talk about division, look no further than the teachers. These middle class babysitters thought they deserved a larger wage rise than their fellow public sector workers. They thought they deserved more than the police and firefighters. More than the nurses and doctors. Their raise meant schools couldn’t afford books or fix broken windows. Cancer patients had to go without the latest treatments so they can holiday Capri and Dubrovnik, safely tucked away from the plebs in Spain

But we know why you cheerlead for teachers, don’t we? Do you want to declare your vested interest? All in it together, don’t make me laugh.

As for tax credits, they are an absolute scam. When both parents work full time, and require government handouts and food banks to get by, there’s a problem with the system. A real living wage is the solution but it isn’t popular with those big business Labour donors.

He’s also just trying to be smart. I’d like to see him say it face to face with the thousands of SNP voting teachers. He probably wouldn’t last a week. The kids rip people like him to pieces.

OH NOES!!!! imagine having to face down a handful of primary school children. I’m surprised the NHS isn’t overwhelmed with teachers requiring treatment for PTSD. How do these heroes cope?

Brexit is a classic british empire elite tactic to maintain total control and prevent the masses disco being that they are all being milked by the rich.

The fact that Labour haven't had a credible plan and indeed either abstained or voted with the tories to get article 50 through and the ridiculous deal which will crucify Sxotland more than anywhere else in the UK, doesn't surprise me at all.  Neither does your or McLean undying support for these utter charlatans

Tony Blair had a chance to undo anti trade union laws brought in by the Tories but didn't. I want Independence but I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for the Tories to be kicked out or for a Labour government to come in only to be replaced by another Tory government. This has happened too often for my liking. Having the percentage of powers that we do have is nowhere near enough to deal with the problems we have under British control. Scotland can only do so much with the powers we have. I have my bus pass I don't have to pay £9 for each Prescription I don't have to pay a bedroom tax and I have had no problems with the NHS in Scotland. There are problems we are facing but the problems won't be solved with the handouts we are getting from Westminster.
