Cass316
Stevie May set for Kilmarnock talks as Aberdeen grant permission to speak to frontman The out-of-favour attacker will speak to Angelo Alessio's side while an offer is also on the table from Dundee. Kilmarnock have tried to ease their Europa League embarrassment by making a move for Stevie May. Killie boss Angelo Alessio has been given permission by Aberdeen to talk to their out-of-favour frontman. Alessio knows he needs to strength his Rugby Park squad and that has been accelerated by their embarrassing Europa League exit at the hands of Welsh minnows Connah’s Quay Nomads. The Italian wants to add more firepower to his squad after a number of failed bids for targets he has turned to May – but he faces a fight. Dundee have tabled a big-money offer while former club St Johnstone will step up their attempts to get May back to McDiarmid Park over the weekend. Premiership new boys Ross County have also held talks but, as it stands, aren’t in a position to compete financially. Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has told May he can go, either on loan or permanently if he wants, because Sam Cosgrove, Curtis Main and James Wilson are all ahead of him in the Pittodrie pecking order. McInnes paid £400,000 to land May from Preston back in 2017 but he has struggled to hit the heights in the North-east. It remains to be seen if Alessio will be able to persuade May to make the move to Rugby Park. An added complication could be their artificial surface and the fact that May has already had two serious knee injuries. PillieKie
Using that bigger wage budget to compete with Dundee for players that Aberdeen don't want. Excellent.

piffer
My first instinct was not for me. On further thought I wonder about the McInnes effect. He cocked up Stewart is he having the same influence on May. I do think there is better out there. I wouldn’t loan from Aberdeen either.

killie89
Not the answer. Clarke might have managed to turn him into a player but I’ve not been remotely impressed with him at Aberdeen. Plus he’s got stupid hair.

mitch14
Can see him working with Brophy. Aberdeen fans were really pleased with his contribution despite the lack of goals last year. Worth a punt

If he does Brophy's running for him so Brophy can concentrate on being in the box it might not be the worst thing. I'm really clutching on to any positives after last night. Don't think signing Alan Power from Lincoln vs signing someone that has struggled recently in the league we play in is comparable but ok.

We don’t need a work horse next to Brophy, we need a link up player (Stewart) to feed him or a Fox in the box (Boyd) for him to play off of.
Scouser2
IF any truth in this do wonder in regard to how the Manager is going about recruiting ....... keeper from Juventus , would had some knowledge about and got advice on ....Midfielder from Holland - was not on trial and from reports was offered and agreed deal quickly - perhaps recommended by a contact or Agent? Striker from a rival Scottish club......from watching video clips perhaps? May seems to work hard but in past few years his goal return is very weak

As will most of the other players we sign under AA. -

KillieDIV
Do we have scouts employed by the club? You'd like to think any potential signing would be ran by someone to provide on a report on them before we signed them.
