Popular Post killie89
So glad Hamilton’s tactics didn’t pay off this time. It was worth sitting through 120 minutes to get to see the irony of their keeper shouting about us time wasting after we scored! I’ve never seen a club where time wasting is so ingrained in them, even when it’s 0-0. The problems with creating clear cut chances and scoring goals remain, but at least this alleviates the pressure a wee bit. I promised myself after the Nomads game that I’d never again complain about a scrappy win in a cup competition, and I’m standing by that tonight!
Estragon
Positives 1. El Makrini looks like he could be good player for us. 2. Taylor seems to be playing well. 3. We didn't concede. 4. My missus has made a mushroom risotto. Aye, that's it...thank f**k we won.

maxyboy
Thought we played alright for the majority of the game, it’s mostly the same players as last season yet it looks at times that they’ve forgot how to play. There’s only so much you can pin on the manager players leaving passes short and general lack of creativity is down to the players, hopefully having seen the ball hit the back of the net and a win after a really tough afternoon will lift the spirits.
RayD
Confidence is low it seems, hopefully this result will boost the players belief in themselves
Riccarton Bluebell
Another striker and a creative midfielder and we will be ok.
Popular Post Samoktid
For what it’s worth I thought we were the team totally in control of the game. Some nice passing, recycled possession well at times. A few short passes which will inevitably happen because we aren’t Barcelona and don’t have perfect players. As as others have suggested we don’t have a divine right to steamroll teams such as Hamilton. We know they will come and make it horrible which they did and for the majority our players stood up well to it. We we need to back off a bit and give AA time to get it going his way fully. There are plenty of positives which we can take from today however some just want to take the negatives. The world and his brother know we need a creative player and another striker so I have no doubt they will arrive at some point before the window ends. Special mention for big Innes. The lad stood up to a physical battle well and brought a lot to the game. Onwards and upwards Killie.

Allymitchell91
Thought SOD was great going forward, genuinely thought he created well at times, El Mac technically very competent and hope theres more to come. Ines gives us a different dimension and brophy badly needs a goal! As for accies, f**k me that's a really tough team to watch, gamesmanship from the first whistle -
killie billies pal
Such relief at getting through, not great to watch but we got there!! Why then do I now feel such sustain towards this tournament? Ah that’s right, by this time tomorrow we will have been drawn against one of the ass cheeks! All of a sudden the pleasure has been drawn out of my day. Oh well, bring them on, oh and hopefully four new signings will be delivered before the next round. -

Bigdaw
A win is a win. First half better than the second. Hate all the square passes , back and forth. Makini was very good in the first half, He is the only Midfielder who will take the pass and turn , Looks more composed on the ball. Weight of pass is good too. Sometimes our passing is to slow or perhaps its the tempo we play at. But how many times did the longish pass from the centre backs miss its target. To often. Young Innes did well in the first half , He is never going to be a Goal scorer though. He will learn how to play against big experienced defenders , But of course it developed into long hoof ball from the likes of Broadfoot and to be honest he is as accurate as a scatter gun with long passes. We have asked for Brophy to have someone along side him and help him out, Well perhaps its early days but i thought the Wolf was more like a puppy today he was very poor. Bad touches, Never ran into space the whole game and his shooting was woeful. I hope we get in a decent Striker soon and it proves that a lack of movement up front is the reason we can't seem to create chances in the box. Hopefully this is the start of our season. Glad it went to extra time. Wid huv got soaked if the game finished in normal time...lol

Lot has been said about needing better strikers , rightly.so....but do agree there is vital need for that creative attacking central midfielder ....to give us more variety and to open up defences..other than just relying on crosses from out wide
Rosskfc70
Great finally to get a win should have been a lot more comfortable if Broadfoot, Brophy or Millar took their chances , surely after watching this today we will do whatever it takes to sign a striker and creative player that we have been needing since season started .

BR1869
Though El Makrini looked good today. Tidy on the ball, match fitness / sharpness improving. Showed a bit of urgency, got his foot in and covered a fair bit of ground. McKenzie was superb today. Started a bit shaky but grew into the game and looked our most likely. The substitution boggled the mind. Big Innes was a breath of fresh air. Counted four or five good solid headers. Much more like what we need up with Brophy. Lots of work to do, badly need a stiker and a 10, but still in the cup. Onwards and upwards. Mon the killie. kerrwmorton
Hamilton are a brutal team to play against. Agreed that Taylor was man of the match, played with real maturity and assurance. Ironically when Rory went off we lost a bit of Taylor’s effectiveness going forward. El Makrini looked sharper and more willing to take a leadership role. Well done to Innes for leading the line and being up for the battle. SOD was a bit of an enigma. First half though he was very effective going forward but 2nd half he hugged the touch line at the halfway line a la Colin McKee of old!! Agree we need a creative player who will change the balance of the team as well as a couple of strikers. Fingers crossed Angelo can pull a couple of rabbits out the hat.
