To pay £20 plus to go and shout abuse at them would be viewed as madness. For some reason it's acceptable in football. The difference being you choose which films and concerts to go and see through choice. You have one football team you support, which have different players who play for the team coming and going over the years, so it is not your choice as to who the players are that you are paying to watch. Not that I'm saying you should abuse them, but it is the club badge you are supporting, so it is easy to form the opinion that a player is not up to that badges standard.
Squirrelhumper
Some of the abuse McKenzie and SOD in particular get from "supporters" is baffling. Was the same last week at Pittodrie, inane shouting at McKenzie when we was one of the better players (as he's been all season) There's a reason why successive Killie managers have repeatedly played Rory and believe it or not, it's not cos they know less about football than some of the tits you see at Killie games. Mind boggling some of the s**te you hear shouted at games.
Bonbon19
The stupid shouting at players is not unique , I had the “pleasure “ of being invited to scumerset last year and sat in the tin roofed stand . The old geezers in front of me were slagging Shankland for missing from 20 yards out .

Souleycouley93
Jordan Jones is a prick. He deserved every bit of abuse he got for his nonsense. Greg Stewart 10 times the player of Jones. Was never ours. Despite him also being a prick by going to a team below us and derailing our season.

His goals and assists over the course of last season were dung for an attacker. I believe he scored 3, possibly 4, one a pen and he scored them all in the space of about 4 games. I can hardly remember an assist from him all season, I'm quite sure when Rangers did the deal he was sitting on 0 goals and 0 assists. Let's not kid on he was the catalyst shooting us up the league. Strongly disagree. He was the one of the main reasons for our success. He would make a HUGE difference to the current starting line up. We are a shadow of the attacking threat without him. -

He had a lively start to the season but didn't contribute anything in terms of goals and assists. He had a short run of goalscoring after Christmas despite not playing well. He then stopped scoring and continued to play badly until he was dropped for his bad performances.

We all know, probably even he does as well that he’s not the most technical player in the world but he gives 100% in every game. L I think you're doing him a disservice... he's far more technical than people give him credit for and he is 9/10 times the only player who takes the ball and trys to create. He's the scapegoat every week by folk that sit behind me in the East Stand and I've started snapping back at them as guys like LM who's a shadow of the player even JJ was seems to get a free pass from them. We will only appreciate Rory when he leaves us and there's a gaping hole for a player who can play about six different positions on the park.

I think you are letting his mirky exit block your memories of his time in a killie shirt. He scared opposition defenders and dragged teams out of shape as they sometimes trebled up to stop him. I wish any of our current attackers could score 4 in 7 whilst not plAying well. Sorely missed. Not for the person he is - sure. But for the talent he displayed.

Couldn't agree more, and was talking about it on Saturday. Several managers continually pick him - he is often on set pieces. He's strong, fit and works hard for the team every match. Hes scored from miles out before - which you simply can't do without technique. My only criticism would be that he doesn't take enough risks - but I'd also suggest that it's why the managers pick him over Thomas/Kiltie/insert 'jinky' player name here - he is rarely at fault for costing us cheap possession, and follows manager instructions. I even remember him in the CQN game at home - space ahead of him a few times but not running into it - that's not stupidity or lack of drive - he was clearly drilled to always keep the shape, and did what he was told. Frustrating as hell to watch and we all know what happened, but there you are.

There's a difference between whether I'd have him in the team to face Hearts or whether we'll never be able to replace him. Millar shows the majority of the same things JJ did when he's playing well. Unfortunately, much like JJ for the majority of last season, he's not playing well.
Barneyboy
I was lucky enough to be at Anfield yesterday and the abuse Jordan Henderson was getting from the kop end was unbelievable, asked the boy next to me why as I thought he was playing well, he answered "he's pish always has been". Not sure if there is history with him etc, but he seems to be their Rory/SOD.
Jay-Boy93
I usually sit in the FB stand with my old man, but on Saturday I had a wee change, and moved over to the east stand to sit with pals. For the first 45 mins I had to endure constant dross coming out of 4 old D*ckheads mouths directly behind me, to the point that 4 of us got up and moved to the opposite side of the East stand. Branescu, SOD and McKenzie (surprise surprise) were on the end of most of the abuse. The ball had literally been played to Branescu's feet and one of the old tadgers shouted "quicker keeper, this isn't fast enough, stop dilly-dallying!!", I couldn't help but burst out laughing. Even when we were pushing up the park and creating some decent passes and plays, they were hurling stupid remarks about tiny wee things they could think of. The rest was the usual "You're bloody useless Rory" or "What the f*ck are you doing ya useless B*stard"etc etc... After moving it was slightly better but much of the abuse was to the full team instead as we were playing better. After the game finished, the abuse seemed to have crept on to the social medias (twitter in particular) where the keyboard Gangsters let rip on our players yet again. I couldn't hold back and had to argue with a couple here and there. Some folk must not get out very much and feel the need to get stuff out there system on our players during games. It's certainly very very draining on me, so I can't even begin to imagine how the players feel...

There is a crowd of about 10 in front to the left of me in the east and most will not even be 30. Rory and SOD were getting it large as they had been in previous weeks. Their comments are particularly nasty and they seem to take great delight in being nastier than each other.

Both Jones and Millars decision making at times was poor, but at Jones used to carry us 60 yards further up the park with the ball at his feet. Unfortunately whether he has potential or not, JJ is currently a better player than Millar
Wrangodog
We're actually quite lucky where we sit in the East. There's the odd shout at some players but not continual abuse that some of you have been posting about. I'm not a total McKenzie convert but I can see what he is trying to do even if it doesn't always come off. It's maybe the lack of goals from somebody/anybody that causes a lot of the frustration from the stands. Great goal from Brophy on Saturday then failure to capitalise on their ten men felt like a defeat instead of a draw. The most mild-mannered of people outside of a football ground turn into screaming banshees in it, it happens, unfortunately.
Popular Post jasper
I live in France and watch the games on Killie tv. My next-door neighbour sometimes joins me on the pretext of walking the dog. He thinks the lung-bursting workrate of McKenzie and Brophie is prodigious and he couldn't believe me when I explained the pelters Rory gets from a few very loud fans. He thinks that any club should be proud to have a guy like that, ready to run through a brick wall for the cause. He also pointed out that Rory seems to think just a tiny bit faster than his team-mates and that their slow reactions to his proddings makes him look bad when he isn't at all. This is a guy who played semi-professional for many years in France and who sees the game often in ways that I can't, but I think he's spot-on about Rory. We should all give the guy a break.
